I am going on week three of working out at Elev8te and I couldn't be happier with the progress. Both Larry and Charles push me to my limits and keep me motivated during every workout. I haven't felt this good in a very long time. In just three weeks I feel stronger, healthier and faster. I can't wait to see where I am at in three more weeks. The atmosphere is super positive and not only is Larry a great trainer but he is also a good DJ too lol. I train with Shane each week and he truly is so knowledgeable in movement and kinesiology. He always explains the movement, what muscle/s to engage and is by your side watching to make sure you are doing things correctly while also helping to push you to new limits you never knew you were capable of. It showed I lost 5" all around! Say what? Then we went up a notch and in a total of 4 months I lost 15lbs and 18" all around! Yes 18". Now my abs are POPPING! I'm also now wearing a size 2 jean--which I've never been in before. His program is a no nonsense, no fad or silly workout routine. It's a comprehensive program for anyone who is serious about weight loss and getting in shape. It's super simple. Seth is amazing to work with. He is very confident and knowledgeable. They take a very individual approach to each client, recognizing that everyone has different goals, struggles, and work/life balances and they are there to help give you a path to achieve those goals. Even if/when you fall off the path, they are always there to let you know that life/things happen and make sure to get you back on track. The training team is excellent with addressing questions or concerns you have and providing modified movements should you need them. The people, both trainers and clients, are very much a family and so much more welcoming than I have ever felt walking into a big box gym. He assigned a specific section of the gym as "bro" and pointed me towards machines, a specific corner and to the baby weights. Perhaps he should use those himself, when he attends the therapy session he so dearly needs. I was pretty set on making this my home gym, but thank god I went for a tour first. However, today I was disappointed, not because of Chris or his team, but because of some individuals who seem to have a poor, b!tchy attitude. Many of us long-time patrons consider this place our own, and we take pride in its cleanliness, quality equipment, and friendly atmosphere. So, if you're someone who complains a lot (we used to allow dogs until today, but due to a few complaints, I can't bring in the dog I'm training for a rescue), or if you don't know how to wipe down equipment or, for some reason, decide to put white chalk all over plates and machines (seriously, why chalk on a cable machine?), it might be better for you to find a different gym, maybe an Esporta (LA Fitness), which might be more suited to complainers and those who leave a mess. I really hope we don't lose the unique vibe and energy of this place. I am starting to feel like I'm being pushed out of MY gym. ‍ PS. We had an amazing, fun and friendly "therapy" dog that use to come with one of the trainers and now thanks to the Karen's, it is no more. I will miss those friendly eyes and zoomies.

It looked similar to CrossFit to me. I'm so glad I pushed through that and gave it a shot. It ended up becoming my home gym and the place that fostered me regaining my strength and confidence. This place is always clean. The music is energizing. The workouts are programmed very well. Half the days are cardio, the other half resistance/weights. You get what you put in. But I can't get a better workout in 45 minutes anywhere else. Also, there is always a great stretch offered after class, which I don't recommend skipping! The coaches deserve their own very special acknowledgment. Management does a great job hiring qualified trainers, who also have great people skills. They always take the time to welcome you and do a great job explaining/offering a demo of the workout. And you can always count on them to keep an eye on your form and keep you motivated during the workout. This place is a gem in our community. I look forward to hitting 100 workouts!
