Because of how concerned we were, we asked for confirmation by text of when he would be returning our dog in case there were any issues. His response only added to our concerns. Fabian at the Dog Wizard was able to turn everything around for us thankfully. We boarded Bear at the facility in US 64 and Fabian worked with him daily. What he graduated from the program he was sitting and lying down in his place every time we asked. Before training he refused to go on walks because of his intense fear. Now, we take him on walks around the neighborhood every day. Not only was Fabian effective but he has repeatedly offered to meet up with us to work with Bear for no extra charge. Every two weeks we also can attend alumni classes on a Saturday at local parks which helps Bear keep up his training. I can't say enough about how great of a job Fabian did. He saved Bear's life. We purchased a Bull Terrier puppy and we were experiencing a difficult time from day one. We contacted Steve and made arrangements to visit the training site. It is a beautiful , well maintained, spacious , air conditioned kennel with acres of land for your pet to play and learn. We made arrangements then for Max to attend after he had all his shots. This was several weeks away and the problems continued. We were reassured by the breeder and this was typical "Bully" behavior. I felt like a failure! I could not get this puppy to do anything! The day came for Steve to come to our home and pick Max up. While bringing him to his van he noticed that Max's eyes did not constrict/dilate in the sun. Steve stopped 1/2 back to let Max get a walk and noticed Max could not coordinate the curbs. I received a call from Steve the next morning. There was something very wrong with Max. Not only was he genuinely concerned for Max's well-being, but he was concerned for ours as well. He took the time to board Max for days, have his vet look at him and take Max to a neurologist for an evaluation. Sadly, Max should never have been sold and is a very neurologically damaged puppy who is almost completely blind and deaf! His behavior was cause by these ailments and needed to be returned to the breeder. Steve went out of his way and returned Max to the low life breeder himself. Eventually we will get another puppy but it will be from someone Steve recommends!!! We can not thank him enough! He came recommend to us and we sure would recommend him and Tropical Dog Training to every dog owner!

The staff is helpful and they seem daily attentive to when they need to open another register. It just seems to be a slow moving place, and I spend the most time waiting to check out/checking out than anything else. She has, however, progressively begun aggressive behaviour towards other dogs, and manipulative behaviour with us over the last year and we were at wits end to try to effect a change. Another local trainer who doesn't handle aggression referred us to Cheryl at Last Paw who met with us for an evaluation session within a couple of days. Cheryl quickly identified 'in-house' manipulative behaviour that Tessa was doing to control us and showed us how easy it was to begin to modify. We have booked several follow-up sessions to work on the dog-on-dog issues. Cheryl is an animal psychology professional, and I do not use this term lightly. If you meet her you will quickly learn how little most of us understand about simple bad habits in owner behaviour that enable all the undesirable habits in our dogs. She is very gentle but assertive and had our Tessa eating out of her hand in minutes. My wife asked her to move in with us. We look forward to our next session in a couple of days.

When we got them back they went from completely untrained to trained in every way! Door manners, in the car, on the leash, and other basic commands, you name it! They were crazy about food and now they will sit in front of food and wait to eat it when they are told. It's amazing! We then brought them back for a tune up when our son was born. It was awesome knowing they were with people who knew them and loved them. Our dog Charlie ran and jumped in the lake immediately! Happy as can be. A huge shoutout to Derrick! When our son was born 4 weeks early he went out of his way to pick our dogs up when we were stuck at the hospital. He truly loves the dogs and cares about the families. I can't even express how glad I am that we found Dawn! Her training style and personality fit perfectly with ours. Dawn has a special gift and connection with dogs, our Bentley (8 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) absolutely loved her. Everything about her training made sense, from start to finish, as she explained (and re-explained, if necessary). She bonded with our Bentley, he came to respect what she was teaching and he was willing to please and obey when she was with him. Dawn gave us homework each week, with handouts as reminders, and did a recap at the beginning of the following week. After training hours, she even sent us a video of her demonstrating the process with her own dog once when we couldn't quite get a certain technique. We didn't always do our homework 100%, but Dawn was able to move forward and teach Bentley the next lessons. We have a lot to learn still and it is a daily learning process for both dog and owner, but are thrilled that we met Dawn.
