My cat eats Blue Wilderness. My choices are coming here, paying $6 more a bag at PetCo or ordering online. I generally have Amazon ship it to me on subscribe and save monthly. However feeling adventurous I stopped in. This place smells like the home of someone who owns too many dogs but I guess that is because of the grooming. Checking out can be a pill as often advertised sales don't ring up. However there's a good selection of toys and treats and you could even adopt a kitty cat. The staff is helpful and they seem daily attentive to when they need to open another register. It just seems to be a slow moving place, and I spend the most time waiting to check out/checking out than anything else. BTW it's the end of August and the Halloween toys are out so pick them up before it's too late. Good selection. read more

Worse customer service Ive ever dealt with. I placed an order online for a bath and brush grooming service. I received an email notification confirming the time and service ordered. When I arrived the technician attempted to up sale to the next level but I told her just the bath and brush this time. She printed a page and highlighted where to sign, which I did. When I arrived to pickup my dog the additional service was charged. I told the groomer that's not what I ordered or what we discussed. The grooming mgr said it must have picked up from the last time I was here but I signed the contract and had to pay. I spoke to the store manager, showed him my order but his response was you signed the contract. Long story short, my last time there and a number of my friends are canceling their trip there as well. read more

Poor baby went too long without a grooming. I was hospitalized for a week, between recovery, etc. my support dog ended up needing extra loving care. It was horrible, several schedules and cancellations. Half way through her grooming process I was called and asked to pick her up to finish the job 3 days later. Needless to say we were very upset when we saw her. Corporate was contacted, matter was resolved as you can see from the finished job done at Sarasota Pet Smart. Alls well that ends well. This salon did a great job with my Shih Tzu's. I had planned on using them for many years to come. We had been going to this salon for well over a year. Recently because my dogs really don't like the hair dryer I had decided to bathe them at home and let them air dry prior to bringing them in. I did this to see if it helped them not to be so stressed. However I work 12 hours a day and found it too hard to schedule the home bath. I also don't think I was doing a good job on their faces. I booked their next appointment and said I would not be able to bathe them at home this time. I was told that they would not do them if I didn't bathe them. They still expect the full price of a bath and groom but were unwilling to bathe them. I am now looking for a better salon with a groomer willing to take the time to work with my girls and my boy. read more

TLDR: Never again. I have used PetSmart in the past (in Las Vegas) with no problems. My 8 1/2 year old German Shepherd went to the location out there many times and we recently moved to the area. I showed them our updated records for our dog and we were good to go. I haven't found a vet in the area yet and needed our dog's nails trimmed and that is part of one of the premium packages they offer (Approx $96 total). I dropped my dog off at 1:30pm (scheduled appointment on a Saturday). Her nails were a bit long, and wanted to make sure that was taken care of and mentioned it. When I was there, because I selected the nail grinding option, they suggested I get whatever package they had which included it and it would save me money (This, plus I guess my dog was washed earns them only the 2 stars - the rest is to follow). I was running around doing errands and received a call at 3:45pm (a little over 2 hours after I dropped off my dog). They were adamant on the phone that I am there by 4:30 as they are closing. Fortunately, I was 25 minutes away and was able to to pick her (my dog is female), up in the close timeline I had. This is where it really went sideways... I noticed my dogs nails were barely touch and when I asked about it, the girl behind the counter was telling me about the quick and how they can't cut it and it will bleed (yea, I know... I have had this dog for 8 years - you saw the records) and that "they" were anxious and squirming and "they" were creating an unsafe situation... My fiancé asked... Who is they? Well, apparently my dog now has pronouns or some garbage. Getting my dog in the truck, I then noticed the very pungent gland smell my dog has when she is scared (typically during fireworks, thunder storms or excessive wind). This could only lead me to believe that the petsmart groomers didn't treat her well and she was terrified to be there. I have never brought her back from the other PetSmart in Vegas with this experience. Long story short, they don't know what they are doing and would never take any pet there ever again. read more

Great crickets and kind staff! All the crickets are healthy, no spiders or anything in my bag! Almost all the wax worms in the cup were alive, too, and they were pretty cheap! I think the general staff has changed since a lot of the other reviews were written. The betta fish and fish section in general looked great, nothing dead, everything moving! read more

Took my toy poodle for grooming, the first thing that irritated me was the attitude of the groomer then she took it upon herself to reclassify my dog as a miniature poodle when he is a ACK Toy poodle. Now we all know poodles of all sizes are hyper active and he was giving a very mild sedative prior to the service but it was only an 30 mins prior as instructed by them and that's not enough time for it to kick in. I assumed that they would have him rest for a bit prior to the groom. He has never required sedation in the past, but thought it would be a good idea since he's never been there before. Five minutes after dropping him off she calls me and says she cannot complete the groom , because he is bitting at the leash and bit her. The dog is very mouthy loves to nibble and they were informed prior and it was in his notes from his previous groomer. My dog doesn't know groomer and he could probably sense the attitude she carried. How does a person who has groomed dogs for 11 years, find it so difficult to compete the groom of a hyper dog. I would expect with that much experience you would be able to groom any kind of dog with any behavioral trait. He's gone to PetSmart since birth but his first time at this location. I did not feel welcomed, i was talked at and I don't feel that a good effort was made to complete the service that I requested. I will never be back and would not trust these people with my dog. read more

I just worked all night and want to be home in my pjs and only came because my dog is out of her prescription food and this is the only place I can get it. Even though it's prescribed by Banfield I still have to wait an hour until they "open" for RX food. Which would be fine if that was posted correctly. This store used to let us purchase the food as soon as the doors opened at 7am. 11 years I've been coming here and the past 2 years both Banfield and Petsmart have gone to crap. Quite honestly, 2 stars is generous. I ordinarily buy my fish from Petco as it is right near my work. But I was in the area of Petsmart and decided to check out their fish assortment. At Petco, those tending to the fish department are extremely knowledgeable on fish, on the water, on the chemicals, on all of it. At Petsmart, not only did this gentleman not know a lick about fish, But he had a bad attitude to go with it. Everything I've read and everything I've been told says that it's 1 inch of fish to 1 gallon of water. When I told this guy, I had a 5 gallon tank with 2 fish, he told me not to buy any more fish because the norm is one fish to 10 gallons. I asked him three times because I was in disbelief of what he was saying, and he stood by that each time I asked. Then, after I selected my fish, I changed my mind on one of them. His look, his silence and his passive aggressive pout was pathetic to say the least and I changed my mind before he even got it out of the tank. I can't imagine his reaction if he had already captured it. The only thing my change meant for him was that he had to change the SKU on my bag. WOW! When I mentioned my experience to the manager, the Manager was more upset that I said something than about my experience. Therein lies the problem. This employee is a reflection of this manager. I've always had a pleasant experience with the staff at the Bradenton Petsmart, and today one of the store managers was extremely helpful. They were out of the prescription cat foods smaller bags. The mngr was kind enough to offer to call other stores, and when that didn't work out he kindly gave me a generous discount on the biggest bag. For example, I picked her up after a bath/brush appointment, and it looked like her entire head/face was not touched. Faith the cashier was very inconsiderate. I had to return like 5 toys today and upon arriving I was greeted with a sigh and after a few minutes in she got calling for a back up cashier saying she had a massive return to do and a line of customers (it was like 5 toys and only 1 customer). When inputting the reason for the return she didn't even ask me she just made something up. Had the bothered to ask she would've learned that I was returning these items because my dog had just died literally not even 24 hrs after purchase and never had the chance to play with them. I have been taking my dog here for years. My dog is 11. Bobby is terrible, he is rude, tried charging me more for my poodle/mix saying he wasn't easy to handle. I usually have Shaina, she works great with Jordan. I get a text today saying confirm my appointment with Bobby. I called, Bobby answered and I asked why was Jordan switched to you? Looking at other's reviews, I am not alone being the recipient of rude and condescending treatment from the grooming manager. This was my 3rd visit to this salon. No prior problems. This visit I was met my the manager. Granted, I was 15 minutes late for the appointment. He chastised me over and over indicating that the groomers have a schedule and that my tardiness was causing a problem for the groomers. Again, I apologized. My regular groomer was not in, so a new groomer was assigned. I was trying to explain to the manager, Bobby I think his name is, of how I wanted my dog cut. I knew he wasn't listening to me as he kept going on and on about me being late. When I came back to pick up my dog, I couldn't tell that anything was done except his nails cut. The groomer offered to take my dog back for additional grooming. The manager protested saying that I only scheduled for a bath and trim. If he had listened to me when I brought my dog in, he could have up sold me for a "cut" as opposed to a "trim". I left the salon in tears. Fast forward 3 months, my dog was at the vet for medication. I walked over to the salon to make an appointment. The girl as the desk pulled up my account. Next thing I know, that same manager came over and informed me that I was banned from the salon, that I was no longer welcome there. He read notes on the computer recounting our prior encounter. He said that I cursed at him and that is why I was banned. He said he wasn't rude to me. I said I never cursed at him. I left the salon for the last time. Judy is gifted in helping pet owners to be successful in training their pets. I have used Judy from kindergarten to private lessons for my pet. Crystal is the best groomer Sasha has ever had. Sasha is a Bichon Mix so you know she always has some mats no matter how much I brush her. She also has warts. I am always amazed at the magic Crystal performs. Sasha comes in looking like a stray from the streets and when we leave she is ready for a Beauty Pageant. I was in the store today for about five minutes when I was simply looking for guppies to put in my turtles tank. Shopping on my own for a minute I noticed a tank with dead fish. Obviously they don't pay attention to their animals. Moving on and finding a worker, I asked if they had the type of fish I was looking for, the worker just pointed behind her said "yeah over there we have female and male." I looked behind her there is 10 different tanks of different fish that look pretty similar but definitely not what I'm looking for. I said well that's not really helpful.
