Incredibly disappointing experience. Before leaving our dog, we clearly explained our concerns and specifically asked Mark if he was confident he could train her. He assured us he could. Nearly two months later, he told us he couldn't. Throughout the process, he was rude, unprofessional, and condescending. The night we called to bring our dog back home after he refused to provide the contact information for the person he planned to leave her with, we noticed he was slurring his words. Because of how concerned we were, we asked for confirmation by text of when he would be returning our dog in case there were any issues. His response only added to our concerns. I would not recommend this trainer based on our experience. It's also worth noting that there has been a sudden increase in 5-star reviews in the weeks since Birdie came home, which stood out to us because we hadn't seen that level of review activity before. read more

Mark left our family heartbroken and disappointed. He had our dog in his custody for training for close to 6 weeks only to return her to us with the same, and even worse behavioral issues, plus a urinary tract infection, and zero response to any commands. We had difficulty getting updates other from Mark other than very brief videos of our dog lying down at the end of a leash, and she was just as reactive towards dogs and people as she was when we first adopted her. Upon requesting we meet at a dog park so he could demonstrate what he had taught her while in his custody, he immediately resigned as our trainer instead. Others have reported similar issues with Mark and On Command K9 Academy on his Facebook and multiple Google website pages. I would not trust Mark at all ever again. Dog lovers beware, and good luck finding a great trainer. Mark isn't one of them, and we are having to rehome our beloved dog now. An incredibly sad experience. read more

Short Version: Failed to adequately train our dog or make good on any of his promises. HIGHLY unprofessional. "Lifetime guarantee" is a sham. Ultimately we had to re-home our dog as he was a danger to our baby. Hoped Mark was going to help us, but dog returned home from Mark just as bad as when Mark started his training. In a last ditch effort, we asked Mark to reach out to his network to see if anyone he knew would consider adopting our dog and Mark simply ignored us. Mark is only out for a quick buck. Avoid avoid avoid. Long Version: We hired Mark in July of 2019 to train our mixed breed rescue. 1.5yrs old at the time and had been raised by my wife and I in a loving home since he was 8 weeks old. We explained to Mark that our dog listened great to basic commands like sit, stay, come etc. in a controlled environment in the home, but out in the neighborhood he was a complete maniac. He would bark incessantly, pull, and even lunged at a neighbor in an attempt to bite their face. He was also extremely dangerous to guests coming into our home. One friend was bit (admittedly after he returned home from being trained by Mark) and others were growled and barked at if they tried to move from their seat. In summary, our dog suffered from severe fear aggression towards other humans that developed gradually over time and for no apparent reason. As my wife and I were having a baby in August 2019, we decided we needed as a dog trainer as there was no telling how our dog would react to a baby. Mark took our dog and then went radio silent. For progress updates we had to call repeatedly in order to get in touch with him. Mark rushed us off the phone and gave us zero indication as to when he expected to return the dog. After ~6 weeks, Duke finally arrived home with Mark in toe exactly as he had left. Jumping on me, biting me, running all over the furniture; it was disheartening. Afterwards Mark would come for semi-regular in-home training visits. Many of which he didn't show up for on time or failed to show up at all. The best was when we had an afternoon in-home appointment scheduled and he showed up without warning at 9am as my wife was in the middle of feeding our daughter. Standing there in the doorway thinking its perfectly acceptable to disregard the appointment we had made as if we should work on his schedule. A couple of in-home training sessions later I realized the dog wasn't getting any better. He was still just as dangerous and aggressive as before and Mark's in-home training sessions were over as quick as they started. Just a few minutes together with some tips anyone with half a brain would know like "make sure to watch for neighbors before your dog spots them and try to keep him focused on you." Yea okay, easy as that. For months I held off writing this review hoping Mark would make good on his promise ("We can train any dog!"). We scheduled more follow up training visits that ultimately fell through and were surprised that Mark never once offered to take Duke back for more board & train, even though we suggested it. in the end, we were left with no choice and had to re-home our dog. His fear aggression never got any better, Mark was zero help, and the dog started acting aggressively towards our baby. In a last ditch effort, we asked Mark if he would reach out to his network to see if anyone would consider adopting a Mark-trained dog and he brushed us off. I was referred to Mark based on a referral from a neighbor. Very grateful he was able to train my American Pit bull terrier. Mark not only did a great job giving Vinny "doggie boot camp" with the ability to follow commands, be properly socialized with other dogs, but also helped me understand how model that same success. Mark has done an INCREDIBLE job with my husky/malamute! My 7 year old Husky, Mila, had severe leash aggression towards other dogs and even pulled so hard that she broke my mom's shoulder when she saw another dog. After 3 weeks of training with Mark though, she's an entirely different dog on that leash. She listens to my commands such as "Heal, sit, stay" when we see a dog. I've tried SO many ways to try to get her to not go insane on her leash towards a dog and nothing worked until Mark! We have two French bulldog puppies that we got at eight weeks. They were beautiful - but out of control! Mark came to our rescue and did an amazing job.
