This was not the right program for our bichon mix. Our main reason for seeking a board and train program was help with potty training which means the trainer needs to place them on a schedule. This did not happen. Our dog came home with a scab on his neck from the E-collar which has made me choose not to even keep up with this form of training. If the collar doesn't hurt them then why does our dog have a visible injury on his neck. He came home more anxious and trembling which he never did before when we reprimanded him. I believe our dog was one of many dogs and they should not have taken on more than one dog at a time. This program was a waste of $2600 and our dog spent 18 days away from us only to come home not potty trained with no schedule. The owner Daniel was not apologetic and defensive of his program. He never apologized for my dog sustaining an injury from their e-collar usage. I absolutely do not recommend this type of training for small, companion dogs. Our dog is stubborn because the breed is notorious for that but he should have been sent home if he wasn't responding well to training. Instead the collar was mis-used and I don't trust anything related to this method or company any more. read more

Thanks to Erinn my dog Dudley is a much better behaved dog. My dog Dudley is a 11 month old Belgium Malawian with boundless energy and drive. Needless to say he was a handful. He is also large and stubborn, but he was no match for the skill and experience of trainer Erinn. He is a much calmer dog well trained in beginning and advanced obedience. I cannot say enough AMAZING things about Off leash K9 training in Sarasota. I brought my stubborn and feisty eight month old English bulldog puppy in... within just two weeks, my lil guy was obidient beyond words!!! With a simple command he was sitting when told, laying down, going to "place..." and even loading up into my car. He would stay in his command, whatever that would be (sit, down or place) as I walked away (even acted like a goofball a few times, to try and get him excited so he would break his command)... he wouldn't move a muscle, until I said "break!" (That was his release from command word.) Then he came running over and was having fun. His ability to focus and remain under command was extraordinary . The training is unremarkable, in addition to the training you're blessed with two of the greatest people I've ever met. Jeff & Danielle were so kind and truly caring. When I picked up my little guy Jeff spent soooo much time with me, showing me how to continue my puppies training, and was so patient!!! I had a gazillion questions lol. Danielle sent videos and pictures, all the time, as I was a nervous mom - and answered any questions, via text, almost immediately. Our 18 month old golden is a changed dog. After 2 weeks of board and train it is night and day. Still gets into things and excited from now and then but no longer bolts or jumps on people. We have had him outside with us and all of the things (birds, squirrels, rabbits, lizards etc.) that a normal dog would chase after he sits there waiting for us to release him to go "play" . We can go for runs and walks and he won't break heel. read more

First things first, we (me and my crazy girl Mila) both love our trainer Erin! Now on to the review... I found Off Leash when I was doing a search for a trainer that specializes in dog/people aggressive training with an e collar. I have a super stubborn Cane Corso that I was desperately training to reign in so we could have a happy active life with both our pups. She was getting worse by the day, and that was after spending a couple thousand dollars with other trainers. I was a little hesitant at first because my husband was kind of over spending money on "the dog", but I can honestly say that our trainer Erin is worth EVERY penny. I kind of jokingly tell everyone that she is training me, but it's really the truth. Erin has taught me how to work my dog. She has given me the tools and confidence I needed to help me take my dog from being fearful of everything to trusting me to not let anything happen. We aren't done just yet, but after our third lesson I was ready and whiling to work Mila out in public spaces. Patrick was very good with Abby for a 2 week board and train. Unfortunately the hurricane Irma helped make a mess of things and may have had some influence in Abby running away!! Alls well that ends well and she did come back after her 10 hour adventure! We missed out on 2 days of training but Abby was a different puppy when she was returned to us ... she listened more, was more obedient and did respond to commands ... but this is the reason I did not rate higher ... If you're looking for cheap, look elsewhere. If you're looking for worth it, this is your place. I am now officially a "no leash snob". What I mean is when I see you with your dog, on a leash, leading YOU around the neighborhood, I judge you as pitiful. I'm totally half-kidding. Off-leash with Carly in Michigan and Abby in the Tampa Bay area were both excellent in getting our 12 month old puppy totally in line. Very grateful.
