It was well worth the trip. There are so many things in that room - clothing, guitars, pictures, clippings, posters, personal items, stories, autographs and so much more - even a "Dukes of Hazzard" lunchbox. I found a t-shirt I couldn't live without, grabbed a bottle of tequila and a bottle of espresso vodka, and went to check out. Prices for liquor were about what I expected, and my t-shirt was extremely reasonable!!! James Jennings - Waylon's brother, owns the store and began to ring us up. We weren't in a hurry and he wasn't busy, so we were delighted with the history and stories he took time to share with us. He's a plethora of information and insights, not just about his brother, but about their family history as well. He had an interesting observation with his thoughts on what Lubbock might have become had Buddy Holly not passed when he did. There was a lot going on back then, it may have changed the course of music history dramatically. I challenge you to stop in and ask!!! Mr. Jennings was an absolute delight. If you are ever in the area, be sure you stop in!!!!

My grandmother too, but she didn't get to partake in this all girl's road trip on 11/24/21 to the small town of Littlefield, TX. Waymores is part liquor store and part tribute to Jennings. If you're lucky, you'll catch a family member like we did (Jennings's sister-in-law, Helen) to give us a brief tour of their memorabilia room (or as some reviews refer to as the museum). She shared so many neat stories about Jennings and their family. We were grateful we caught her in time before lunch. On the way out, I picked up a small black Waylon t-shirt, a bottle of tequila for my brother, and a bottle of whiskey for my dad for $58.43. Debit or credit is accepted. I wore the t-shirt to a lunch buffet later that week with extended family. My dad laughingly told me that a guy behind him waiting in line read the words on the back of my new shirt in a sort of dumbfounded way. The shirt says, "I've always been crazy..." (a song Jennings wrote and recorded) Had I heard this guy, I would have belted out the rest of the words... "But it's kept me from going insane." My brother in law ordered a coffee and ended up spilling it all over the floor and himself. Four or Five employees from the grocery department came over immediately and helped clean it up. The Starbucks worker (young guy with long dark hair) made us another coffee free. These people were so kind and quick to help. And the coffee was great.
