That following Monday my check oil light came on as I was making my way back into town and it freaked me out because I have never ever had my oil light pop up and of course I only went a couple days before to get it changed. I walk in to the automotive department and the person behind the desk was not giving me a helpful explanation as to why my oil light would pop up and then turn off after I just got it changed. The employee let me know if it does it again to bring my car back in... surprise! It happened again on the next Sunday! At this point I had someone else outside of Walmart help me take a look at what's going on and my oil was LOW barely had anything left and my cap for my windshield fluid was off! I took it back and they topped the oil off but they said if it pops up again to get someone else to look at it because it's outside of their knowledge basically. Funny how my check oil light never came on until they touched my poor car. Run far away from this place.

I purchased some plumbing parts that I didnt need and couldnt find the receipt for. I decided to try it and see if they would do store credit. A manager was called to the register named NATHAN. I was so impressed by this young mans character and skill in the handling of this issue that I had to write this. He stated in the exact words: "Let me show this to my manager but I can tell you that they think its important to keep good customers and Ive seen you here before." He went into the office and came back and we matched my bank transactions to the receipts he pulled from the days. He stated that the numbers had to match for bookkeeping reasons! NATHAN was a person that was TRULY working on behalf of his employer using skills and reasoning that matched exactly what was needed to follow policy and retain customers at the same time. This is a rare and exceptional combination of skill. I havent been more impressed in a very long time. Nathan is a jewel! I am an experienced patron and critic and will keep Nathan in mind when training my own future staff. Nathan/Food King Management reading this.. One more big favor.. They actually help you when you can't find something. The prices. They're reasonable and you don't need a rewards card to save here. The meat and produce selections. They're fresh and of quality. The store itself. It's clean, well-organized, and has good signage inside. The only thing I ever disliked about Thriftway is the location--not necessarily within the city, but the way it is tucked off in a corner behind Bealls and Walgreens. Each December, an annual canned food drive (Stuff-a-Truck) happens in front of this store. So they definitely support their community and less fortunate citizens. I may be the only one who remembers this, but Thriftway used to be on Dal Paso St. That Thriftway burned to the ground back in '07. I never learned what the cause was or how it happened, but...
