My wife and I have travelled in 42 states (until now) and we have stayed in every kind of hotel and motel you can imagine. Nancy is the most helpful and responsive motel manager we have met. And always with a smile. I know - that should be the norm. But it's very, very rare nowadays. So, cudos to you Nancy, and I hope the onwers know how lucky they are. You give their property a good name for hospitality. We'll stay again. No question about it.

The hotel boasts a Golf Course, Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Sauna, Steam Room, Arcade, and Restaurant; all of which really set them apart and above the local competition. This quaint bed and breakfast is beautifully furnished and kept immaculate. It is obvious Bobby takes pride in maintaining the house and making his guests feel welcome. Bobby, Paul (Paul runs the Barn, a hiker's hostel which is definitely worth checking out as well), and their dog Marley did everything they could to make my stay wonderful. If you are looking for a place to stay in the North Country, forego the other hotels along Main Street and stop into The Libby House (Libby House probably has better rates too).

Initially, we didn't see too many options that seemed appealing in the area. There are lots of options for winter sports in the area...snowshoeing is huge, skiing, xcountry, dog sledding, etc., but lodgings in this immediate area were scant. We are so glad we found Mt Washington. The rooms were very cute, quaint, and comfy. This is exactly what you think of when you picture a quaint little New Hampshire Inn. It is a little off the beaten track, which was fine with us. The rooms are very cute, with very nice accents. Each room is different and very nicely decorated by the owner. There are always coffee and tea and cookies available in the dining room. The breakfast was very nice. We had french toast with baked pears and sausage. I will definitely stay here again if I need to be in this area.

To top it off, I was charged an extra amenity fee at check-in that was never mentioned when I booked. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive. When I asked to speak with a manager, they called someone who was on vacation and barely let the employee explain. I was denied a refund with no help offered. I'm a single mom and teacher, and this was supposed to be a quick, special getaway. Instead, I had to scramble to find a new place late at night. Absolutely awful experience. Stay far away.

This is a clean, friendly, and inexpensive place to stay…read more If you're interested in opulent accommodations look elsewhere but for a no-frills basic type of place, this little Motor Inn is hard to beat for the price. The rooms are small but clean. The bed is comfortable enough for my rather heavy frame. The amenities are space but what they offer are well maintained by an extremely friendly staff. They offer a little breakfast buffet in the morning. Although it is mostly packaged food it was always fresh, the coffee was hot and tasty. Above all the breakfast area was extremely clean and inviting. When looking for an inexpensive clean place for the night, this place fits the bill perfectly.

1/5 Stars -- Filthy, Unsanitary, and Unacceptable…read more We stayed at the Gorham Motor Inn October 8-10, and this was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences of our trip. I can overlook worn furniture and a property that needs updating. I cannot overlook the lack of cleanliness and the apparent rodent problem. In the first room, we found mouse droppings on the comforter, along with splatters on surfaces, and dirt and dust on the pillows. When we went to the office to ask about changing rooms, the employee shook his head no before we could even finish asking. When we showed him photographs of the droppings on the comforter, he quickly agreed to move us to a different room. The most disturbing part was that this happened in TWO different rooms. The second room initially seemed cleaner and had no noticeable odor. However, on our second night, we returned from dinner to find what appeared to be rodent droppings on my pillow. They had not been there when we left. I have photographs documenting both incidents. As if the cleanliness issues weren't enough, we discovered that the smoke detector had been removed from the ceiling and was sitting in a drawer. This is a serious fire-safety concern and under state code a smoke detector is required by law Other problems included splatters on the walls and baseboards, a filthy towel rack in the shower, screws protruding from the wall, a door lock that jiggled, a toilet that was clogged before we had even used it, and a television with white spots across the picture. The curtains were partially detached, there were no tissues in the tissue holder, and the bathroom had no electrical outlet. The rooms felt dirty, and we genuinely questioned whether proper housekeeping had been done at all. The condition of the rooms did not remotely match the clean, bright impression given by the website photos. We stayed because the room was already paid for and we were unable to get a refund. We did not report the second incident because no one was available in the office when we attempted to check out, so we left our key in the designated drop box. I have photographs documenting the conditions we encountered, including the apparent rodent droppings. I will be posting them because other travelers deserve to know what they may be walking into. This was not simply an outdated motel. The cleanliness issues were unacceptable, and finding apparent rodent droppings on our bedding in two different rooms made this a serious sanitation concern. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

The Moose Brook Motel is a reason to want to go back to New Hampshire again. The rooms were spotless, clean bathrooms, small amenities like shampoo and a soap bar. Also a very clean pool. The atmosphere was welcoming and inviting. The woman at the front desk was so kind, my reservation got messed up with scheduling so it was fixed and I recieved a 10% discount on my stay. I was prepared with my book and probably benefited from missing the "news". If I'm back in the area, I'll stay here again, and I'd recommend you should consider it as well.

The bathroom was so small that you could barely fit between the sink and the wall to use the toilet. The linens were soiled and has red marks (blood?) on them. The most alarming thing of all was the quantity of hair that was scattered around the room. There was clumps of hair that looked like they were actually painted into the wall. It looked like someone has been scalped in the bathroom. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable and the TV was barely functional. I would recommend staying anywhere else in the Gorham/Berlin area. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! Avoid at all cost…read more.. We booked this motel over the phone while traveling. When we got there and saw the place from the outside, we might have reconsidered had we not already provided our credit card for the reservation. So we checked in, thinking we could handle it. Boy, was that a mistake! The furniture was a collection of mismatched odds and ends that I swear came out of a junkyard. And the room was filthy. I mean really, really dirty. I used one of my old shirts to dry my face when I washed up rather than use their towels! The filthy indoor-outdoor carpet was there to cover the rotting/missing floor boards underneath - one of which caught my foot, causing me to fall and bash my knee (the bruise lasted for weeks!). The headboards were hung on nails, one of which had fallen out, leaving the headboard dangling at an angle. I lifted the other end off and rested it on the floor in fear of it falling on me in the night. The refrigerator (no, we didn't use it!) was standing on a homemade plywood and 2x4 'table'. And the smell in the room... I don't even want to know what the smell was all about. In short, I would recommend sleeping in your car before spending a night in this place. Dreadful !!!
