I'm the type of person who is very specific about what I want and I did my homework. I got four different bids for this project, and C2C was the clear winner. Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Highly recommend if you want high-end results without the "luxury markup" of other firms.

They helped us change the cabinet layout a bit and it ends up being more functional while also having much more usable space. The flooring and baseboards turned out terrific, it really changes the look and feel of the space. We had picked out something that was not one of their usual suppliers, but that was no problem. They really work with you to get exactly what you want. All the workers were friendly, skilled and left our house clean at the end of the day. My thanks to everyone that worked on our project. Bill is a true craftsman! I've had a wood gate that has needed rebuilding for the last 8 years…read more Pieces of the wood gate were rotting. Over the years, I've had other handymen pass on the project. I had a handyman who was able to fill the rotted areas with wood filler, sand it, and restain it. I've even had a gate company tell me that they could not save the gate; it would need to be completely replaced. Bill was able to cut out the rotted pieces of wood, replace them, and restain the whole gate (he also repainted the decorative hardware on the door as well). Moreover, he discussed the project with a buddy of his and they determined that the gate was sitting over a muddy part of landscaping which is probably what facilitated the deterioration of the wood. We found some leftover pavers in our storage shed and Bill extended the pavers so the gate would sit over pavers instead of mud. Before he embarked on the wood gate repair, Bill also installed a valance/shade over a window. He made the necessary calculations to ensure that the valance/shade would be centered on the wall and window. He also made sure that the valence was leveled. Bill is honest, meticulous and detail-oriented. If you want someone to treat your project and your home, like it's his own, I would give Bill a call.

I am giving Green Flash 2 stars based on a severely rushed recent inspection and the poor quality…read moreof their past repair work. Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.

YOU CAN NOW STOP searching for the most reputable, dependable, trustworthy and honest General Contractor if you need one right now. I've already done the research for you. I'm not into writing reviews but I want to share my experience with this company so other people do not have to go through with what I've been through. July 2021, the faucet of my bathtub upstairs leaked and did damage to the tiled floor, and walls and ceiling of the living room downstairs. After a mitigation company did the demolition and drying off the affected areas, I started looking for a General Contractor to do the restoration. I went to review sites such as Google, Yelp, Home Advisor, Angie's List, BBB and chose only contractors with 5 stars reviews. I read most of the reviews and noted that even they have 5 stars, they have negative reviews as well (which I think is normal because nobody is perfect). Had each contractor came to survey the damage, gave their estimate and sent to the insurance adjustor. I went through 9 contractors because either their estimate was way more that the insurance company's estimate, they do not want to deal directly with the insurance adjustor to negotiate the cost or they are not responsive to my calls/texts. These negotiations costed me months of waiting but paid off when by December, I came across TOP NOTCH FLOOD and RESTORATION in San Marcos, CA. This is the ONLY contractor that has ONLY ONE negative review which in my opinion was not the company's fault but still was resolved to the customer's satisfaction. This company is owned by a gentleman by the name of ROBERT ALGEO who sent his estimator Tony day after my call. Same day he informed me that the insurance's estimate is acceptable but won't be able to do the job until after 3 months due to the hectic schedule. When I told him that I've been in this mess since July, he was able to accommodate me and had the work started right away. It took a day for his people to finish the walls and ceiling and another 3 weeks to completely finish the whole project. (Prior contractors gave estimate completion of 3-4 months). Since the work started, there was not a single day of absence and workers cleaned up every day. Robert was always responsive to my text and calls and successfully negotiated 2 supplementals worth over $7K. I also noted that the project manager Cecilio is not there just to manage but did most of the work as well. At the end, I not only have everything restored in the same condition but now have a brand new shower! I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the performance of manager Cecilio, tiler Rafa and drywallers Augustine and Gabe. Job Well done!! read more

My experience with Top Notch was amazing from start to finish. My wife and I came home from the holidays to a burst pipe that flooded our master bathroom and closet. The water mitigation company recommended by our plumber was unprofessional, tried to rip us off, and was a huge pain. When it came time to find a restoration contractor, I wanted someone professional and competent because I had enough headaches from the water mitigation company. Thus, I was referred to Top Notch by our realtor, who had the utmost praise for this company. My realtor was correct. And all the other 5-star reviews here are correct. Robert, the owner, answered my call on a weekend and fit me into the schedule last-minute so his estimator could arrive when my insurance adjuster visited for a walk-through. Tony Malham showed up before the insurance adjuster, did his own walk-through, wrote an estimate, coached me on what to say and what not to say, and handled the entire conversation with my insurance. He did not pressure me to sign anything or commit to Top Notch in exchange for this service (something another contractor tried to do). He said, "this is a courtesy." They wrote a fair estimate that insurance immediately agreed to, but also got us quite a bit more money to do some renovations. Brian was assigned as our project manager. He and Robert walked me and my wife through the process of the restoration/renovation. They were incredibly kind and patient. Brian led the construction, along with Sanny, Rafael, and Anastacio (George). All were incredibly professional, highly-detailed, and just plain skilled at their job. Sanny was here every day and did impeccable work. I swear that man rebuilt at least half of our lost structures alone. Rafael retiled our floor beautifully. Anastacio (George) demo'd, drywalled, and painted with precision. I can't even tell half our walls were once missing. Overall, the team was kind while on-site, worked hard and fast, but did everything the right way, the first time. As a result, our bathroom and closet look gorgeous. These are the people you want rebuilding structures that will last the remainder of your house's lifetime. I hope I don't have water damage in the future, but if I do, I'm calling Top Notch from the start, since they do water mitigation and demolition as well. They are the definition of pros. A few months back we woke up with soggy hardwood floors thanks to a leaking RO system. We had friends who had already been through this ordeal but now it was our turn up at bat. Some of them had a good experience with restoration, some, well...not so much. My wife posted to Facebook to ask her network who they would recommend that we call about our water damage. Almost immediately friends of ours posted back about Top Notch Flood. I called pretty early and I expected to leave a message. Instead Robert picked up, talk to me briefly about the situation then came right over to help (we're talking within the hour.) Robert started immediately drying the floors using their professional equipment then he walked us through the process of contacting our insurance company. We had no idea at that point really how much work Top Notch Flood was about to undertake on our behalf. Turns out they really know what they're doing and our house was nowhere near their first rodeo. The depth of knowledge about the process really help to put us at ease as we'd never had to use our home owners insurance before that morning. I'm happy to report that our hardwood flooring and kitchen now looks better than it did when we first built our house. Brian oversaw the hardwood installation. While working he showed us some problems with the initial floor installation and was able to correct these issues with the new installation. Cecielo did oversaw the cabinet restoration. He was very meticulous and attentive to requests from my wife and I during the process. Top Notch Flood is an exceptional company. They do really care about, and listen to their customers. I always felt like their number one goal through the process was to make sure we were happy with the end product...namely, our home restored, made better than new and in a timely fashion. If we could give 50 stars to Top Notch we would!!! 6 weeks ago today, a pipe burst in our master bathroom area and flooded about 1/3 of our home. I was referred to owner Robert from my son in law who had used Top Notch last year. Immediately upon calling Robert (on a Sunday no less!!), Gerald and his crew arrived and starting placing fans, dehumidifiers etc. while calming my husband and I!! Within a couple of days, Gerald and his crew had demolished all the areas needed to be completely dried out. Gerald and the guys sectioned off the affected area with plastic tarps so that the remainder of our home stayed dust free. Kathy and Nisa packed our contents beautifully and they transferred to the storage area which we had set up. Top Notch then ordered new wood for the floors and Brian , Sanny and their crew restored our home (drywall, paint, flooring, builtins, etc, baseboards) to 100% perfections all in an amazing expedient time. We had to go out of town for 10 days during the process and we felt very secure in leaving our home in their care during our absence. Every night the house was securely locked up. Every day the crew would show up exactly on time and work all day in order to get their job done. We are so grateful for Top Notch! We would definitely recommend anyone who is experiencing a flood, fire, or etc to hire Top Notch! Their professionalism, communication skills, knowledge and customer service is over the top !! I cannot begin to explain how happy I am with Bobby and his team at Top Notch. I unfortunately had my condo flood from shared pipes making my repairs and restoration the responsibility of HOA. My HOA hired a company that took a bad situation and made it worse. They were unprofessional, unresponsive and not trustworthy. They left my condo in unlivable conditions for over 3 months and many of the "repairs" they did needed to be redone! I finally broke down and decided to pay out of my pocket and call Top Notch. Not only did Bobby agree to help but he even helped me understand how to seek reimbursement and resolution with the other company and my HOA. He sent in some of the kindest guys I have met, Tony, to give me a quick repair estimate, and Gerald with his team to fix everything. They are very busy and really did not have time to fit my job into their schedules but he knew my daughter and I were out of our home so they figured it out for me. I cannot say enough nice things about the team at Top Notch Flood! We just bought a house in Encinitas and had a mold inspection performed. The inspector detected mold and put us in touch with a mold remediation company that took a week to get an appointment and then told us we had to rip out multiple walls, clean and rebuild. We were freaking out because we just spent all of our money buying the house and now were looking at a major unexpected expense! A friend recommended Top Notch, so I reached out to them for a second opinion. Jared made time in his schedule to come by the next day to assess the situation and immediately could tell that it was a much smaller project than the prior estimate. He had Sanny and Gerald out the following day to open the wall and determined there was just a tiny bit of mold in an isolated area. They cleaned the area, removed a small portion of drywall and had the wall back together the next day so that we didn't have to delay our move. They saved us from a scary unexpected expense and did beautiful work. Top Notch is a super honest team with beautiful craftsmanship. If I ever have water damage in the future, I am calling Top Notch. In the same month we had the pipe to our refrigerator break 9 feet up in the wall, and we also had a roof leak into our living room due to the recent storm damaging one of our solar panels. I am SO glad I found Top Notch Flood! When we called about our leaking pipe, they immediately sent Michael out who identified the extent of the problem and immediately got air purifiers, fans and dehumidifiers running to minimize the mold. Gerald and Kyle came out next to demo the walls and begin mold remediation. Gerald was always very helpful and would immediately respond to any question I had via text when I sent them after hours. They were extremely clean in everything they did, creating a plastic barrier, sweeping and vacuuming and removing all the debris. Then Brian, Sanny and Gerald began the rebuilding of the walls and cabinets and painting. Brian took the time to explain to me the rebuilding of my cabinets. They had to reverse engineer the cabinets to fit all of the appliances and existing drawers and doors. Robert and his team came to my rescue! Not to sound cliché, but Top Notch is top notch. It's hard enough dealing with contractors who talk down to you, or don't think your job is big enough for them, or just never get back to you... but Robert came into my home at the recommendation of a friend, at a moments notice, and took over! Not only did he do a great job in repairing mistakes done by a former contractor and did a great job on a leak in my kitchen... he also handled conversations and correspondence with the insurance company and previous contractor so that I didn't have to; all during the start of the pandemic when my life was in an upheaval having to get out of my house because of mold, etc. Robert is such a personable man; honest, and kind-hearted. His team, especially Cecielo, treated me with respect and compassion. Cecielo is meticulous and takes pride in his carpentry. Ask that he be on your job, too! Top Notch Flood was very helpful in removing our furnishings in preparation of new flooring following water damage repairs. Wish we knew about them sooner and they could have done all of the water mitigation and repairs. Robert's team, including German, Chad, Dean, Nicole, George V, Sanny, and Harrison, arrived at our home on a Saturday when we learned the flooring installation was to begin Monday and insurance was covering their services! What a relief! They were on time, professional, and worked diligently to not only remove our items to the deck and garage, but they also gave us tips on ways to be able to stay in our home while the floors were being repaired over the full week (keep the mattresses, which are easily movable, but store the bed frames in the garage was one helpful tip). When it was time to return our household "stuff," they were just as considerate, and even dusted the furniture that was too tall, and bookshelves that had been loaded with books but dusty behind. When we were referred to top notch regarding repair of damages related to a a bathtub area leak, I was initially skeptical . Robert arrived at our home in a timely fashion, inspected the damages, and assured us that in his experience all could be repaired under our existing home owners insurance policy. He contacted the insurance company, described the problems, and promptly arranged for an adjuster to start the review. To make a long story short, Robert delivered on all the promises he made. The demolition and restoration was done to our complete satisfaction, on budget, and performed by working crews who were professional, courteous, and competent. He has responded to our calls and concerns, and has been flexible when we wanted to alter the project to better suit our personal preferences. He has steered us to the most cost effective and quality providers when we selected materials or hardware , and had his crew help on pickups from vendors if we wanted upgrades. And a pleasure to work with personally, low key and relaxed ( even if we weren't ). Highly recommend his services! read more

We had a pipe break in our house between floors which did quite a bit of damage. A plumber was able to come in quickly and repaired the leak. We then had another restoration company come in to demo and dry out the damage and that's when the issues started. The prior company's estimate was poorly done and they seemed like they couldn't be bothered with this part of the job. This lead to frustration with not only us, but our insurance company as well. Thankfully, we were referred to Top Notch Flood and it was like night and day! We were in contact with Robert at Top Notch that day and explained our situation. He was extremely helpful and the next morning he had Brian, his project manager, out and spent the time explaining and correcting the prior companies estimate. They guided us through the flooring selection and had us scheduled to start the repairs within two weeks. This company is beyond my expectations!! Our home was completely restored and above what I could have imagined. The very day I called they came and began the process of protecting our home. Robert and his crew are hand picked by him and very loyal to their craft. Everything was done beautifully. The flooring, cabinets and interior paint are perfect. Robert even made it fun to pick out product and color. It feels like a new home. Whenever I stopped by the house, the guys were always working hard. All of the crew: Herman, Carlos, Placido, Raphael, Junior,and Kyle. all of them were so polite and efficient. They made us feel safe and followed excellent Covid Protocol precautions. Robert and his crew did a fantastic job of quickly identifying and removing the water damaged areas and thoroughly drying and applying mold/mildew retardant. Gerald, Kevin, Carlos, Kyle and Cornell took great care in packing all of our personal items, moving and safely storing appliances, preventing dust and debris from spreading to other areas, removing the damaged materials and cleaning up at the end of the day. Robert, Placido, Herman and Sanny did an outstanding job of installing new ceilings, walls, floors, shelves and cabinets. Robert, the owner, was especially helpful in helping with submitting photos and estimates to the insurances. Robert's team of men worked tirelessly to repair and renovate my kitchen, living room and family room from a plumbing leak that flooded my downstairs home. The men packed my dishes and belongings with such meticulous care that reassured me they took personal care of my home. They worked efficiently from early morning until past 5pm daily! Robert Algeo, Sanny Elijiah, and Joe Villa went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND to give us timely, professional, caring service. The job they did was SUPERB , from the identification of our leak, to submitting the paperwork to the insurance company, to the plumbing services, and the dry out and restoration services. They went to great lengths to match the colors we had, the crown molding that needed to be replaced due to the demolition from our leak, took great care of our wood floors and belongings. THEY WERE SIMPLY amazing. Sanny and Joe did not leave last night until every single little detail was done to our satisfaction! Our dining room looks as good, if not better than before the leak. When the toilet was improperly installed by Clover Plumbing/First American Home Warranty, Robert had his OWN people come in, Sanny and Joe, to do it PROPERLY! The team from Top Notch Flood absolutely blew me away with work they performed in my home after a water leak in the ceiling of my kitchen. Robert guided me through the process of establishing the claim with my homeowners insurance, and guided me as I was freaking out after the major damage. First Michael in assessing the damage and subsequent work to be done, then Herman, Placido, Carlos, Gerald, and Kyle took care of me from the very beginning to the very end. The team did amazing work with the demo, removal, replacement, flooring installation, drywall replacement and painting, and even the moulding throughout my home. I wish I could give TOP NOTCH FLOOD 10 stars!! We had a flood at my business on New Years Eve. We own a gym and having something like that happen during our projected biggest month ever was scary. I do not recommend working with Manny and Jasmine…read more As a property manager, I hired them for a full apartment renovation in Escondido after the previous tenants left the unit in very poor condition. While this was more than a standard turnover, the project still should have taken no more than two months. Instead, it dragged on for several months. I ultimately fired them after repeatedly being charged for work I had not approved, being told crews were on-site when they weren't, and constantly getting the runaround on the project's status. After hiring a new contractor, he identified the source of a lingering urine odor within minutes - something that had gone unresolved for months because Manny was never on-site. The workmanship was also poor. I had to hire another contractor to redo the staircase. When I went to pick up the flooring, the shop let me know that they always had that flooring in stock. Jasmine spent almost a month telling me it was "ordered and on the way". Within one week of the tenant moving in, the upstairs shower leaked into the downstairs bathroom because the wrong shower valve had been installed, requiring remediation. I felt bad for the tenant, whose move-in had already been delayed by a month due to Jasmine promising the work would be done by a specific date and then having to extend the renovation. They also were not familiar with basic California smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector requirements, which I had to explain to them. A rule that Manny as a contractor and Jasmine as a project manager should know. As of today, they still owe the homeowner money for the remediation. Jasmine has sent photos claiming a check was mailed, but we've never received it. I stopped responding to her because I don't trust her. I hired them to make my job easier. Instead, I spent months correcting mistakes, disputing unapproved charges, managing delays, and ultimately hiring another contractor, who completed their mistakes and remaining work in less than two weeks. I would also like to note that their Yelp profile advertises "damage restoration" services, but that was not my experience. Their estimate included removing mold-affected drywall in a water heater closet. However, before I terminated their services, they told me that this was "not something they do."
