I'm having the same issue that another reviewer had. My work was done about 10 years ago and I want to recall a 20 year warranty. A leak occurred in my guest house and Cesar came out quickly. He said some work was done incorrect and he would come out on a Saturday and fix it as it was a quick job. He did not show and is now ignoring me. I'm not sure the reply from the previous owner is legal. Cesar worked for Ephram and should probably be responsible for warranty work. read more

What a bummer. I had a portion of the underlayment of my tile roof redone in 2019. In 2023, it sprung a leak under the new felting. I called Efrin who said my warranty was no longer valid for past customers since the company had been sold. I waited and called again months later...this time I was told they'd come out the next morning to check out the leak. They stood me up, and now they're ghosting my texts/emails. Efrain and his guys are awesome! Our roof needed to have all the tiles lifted, the paper replaced and the tiles put back. We found San Marcos Roofing because of all their excellent reviews and chose them because of their competitive pricing. The work was completed a couple weeks ago but we already have had 4 hard days of rain this year and everything is buttoned up nicely. No leaks! Ray Sandoval is what contractors used to be like. He's on the job checking, shows up on time, follows through and even brings his own 'potty'. A job done right. Efrain Sandoval and San Marcos Roofing did a fantastic job on the roof. First he came out and put a tarp on the roof during the heavy rain we just had to keep it from leaking during that period. Then they were out prepping on Mon, Wed came materials and work started Thur and was done for the most part Thursday night. Some finishing touches Friday and the roof looks great. Best of all it rained hard two days later and NO LEAKS!! Efrain and the whole team, (his son works for the company and is very knowledgeable and polite), where very respectful of the early morning start and did a great job cleaning up after the job was finished. I didn't use them personally, but they did do my mom's roof. And from what I can see as far as the roof goes they did a phenomenal job. They even added two skylights to my moms garage which really brings out the light in garage. Almost looks like it has lights on in the day time. Plus they did it in good time, about three days and they replaced her facia boards and repainted them. They were good about clean up and took care of removal and replacing here 35 year old roof. What a gem!!! Love this guys! Quick version - Efrain is reliable, honest, down to earth, caring, quick, and easy to work with. Our leaks were fixed within two days of calling him, and the bigger repair on the roof was finished 3 days later. Called him on Monday, by noon on Friday I had everything fixed. I highly recommend him! Long version - during the big storm our roof started leaking. We immediately started calling all the high rated companies here on yelp. Several said their earliest availability was in mid May?! Two months ahead! A few didn't answer the phone, we left messages but they never called back. Three other ones scheduled us for 2-3 weeks ahead. Oh well, we thought, looks like everybody else busy, what else can you do... we better put the buckets in the house and survive the next few weeks with the upcoming rain. Appointment times came, two of them rescheduled (for whatever reason) and came few days later, and only one came on time. None of them got on the roof. Just looked from the street, and gave us verbal estimates from $800 to fix the leak, to $1800 to fix the leak and make the valley larger (because they thought we needed it), to $9K to replace the entire roof because our house was built in 2001 and you see, apparently our roof was too old and had to be replaced (and not fixed). Once again, NONE of them got on the roof! We started calling again, this time called Efrain. He picked up the phone immediately, said he was going to come the next day, and did what he said he would. Showed up the next day and immediately went on the roof. Told me he could fix the leak immediately for $150 since it was supposed to rain that night, but he also told me that the valley had to be extended because it would continue causing problems. Said that he could fix all for $600. Done, I was sold. In less than a week we had our whole roof fixed, all 3 leaks, roof sealed, a few bricks replaced, the valley extended, and I was assured we wouldn't need a new roof for $9,000 (with using our old tiles) like the other guy suggested. There are people and people. Efrain is one of the good people. I'd call him again if I need help with my roof again. Knowledgeable, honest, punctual, reasonably priced, and reliable. We recently bought a fixer and have a laundry list of projects we want to do, one of which is to add on but we were in dire need of a new roof. I called 3 different roofers and got 3 completely different bids. Each person that came out, I explained that we only wanted something to get us by for a few years until we could complete our must do repairs and then add on which will require almost a complete roof tear-off. One guy came back with a very expensive venting system that would be a complete waste, the second guy told us we needed a "cool roof" and that it was a new energy requirement (which was not true) and then came soft spoken Efrain with San Marcos Roofing. He listened to what I told him, took it all under consideration, told us what he would do if it were him and in short his bid was $2,500 less than the next lowest bid and $3,500 under the highest.
