Came in to try a new place. Got a pedicure with Gel polish. Honestly was a really good pedicure, great massage, but I was left with 3 bloody toes and woke up today with one of them pussy, inflamed and really tender. It sucks because I am about to work 7 days straight then one day off then 3 more days in a row on my feet bartending. At the moment I can't put on closed toe shoes. So hopefully it will be okay. But that's my only complaint. Is that my feet are now out of commission, bloody, pussy and very tender.

I'm so glad my friend recommended Top Nails. They do great work. I thought my pedicure was one of the best ones I've ever received. I always love the result.

We've been here a few times and have always had good service. Yesterday I had life changing 5 star service. 1.) they took me very late- right before they close (thank you) 2.) I came in with a very painful ingrown toenail that had become infected )from Harmony Nails off Coleman Blvd. - do not ever go there) and they took 20 minutes to basically do surgery on my toe! I woke up today feeling like a new human. No pain, no pressure, no infection. They used gloves and alcohol and were so gentle and cautious during the process. I've been to the ER twice for this ingrown due to swelling and pain. Nothing has truly helped until yesterday. Amazing. 3.) they gave my the best massage. Long and actual pressure (not just petting my legs) I'm so grateful to not be in Pain today.

this is my fucking nails after going to this place what the fuck

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! the workers constantly left other people to finish up our nails leaving other people stranded and they were VERY understaffed. only about 3 workers and 20 customers. also, when i was soaking my previous set in in the beginning, they forgot about me and worked on other people leaving me there for a good 25 minutes, with acetone on my nails. my nails were freezing and brittle, causing me to shake. the vibe is also terrible, bad smells, bad lighting, etc. to top it off, my sister who rarely gets to visit waited for 45 minutes with no services started on her.

Best nail place I've been to in S Mt. Pleasant! Reasonable prices and they worked so hard to make sure that my nails turned out perfectly! They also told me that it's tbeir policy to repair any nails that get messed up within two weeks. I don't know if this is common at other shops but no one has ever advertised that to me before. I was definitely impressed, and love my nails!

Loveli M.

Well I will say they did try their best but at the end of the day I rather for them to say they weren't experienced in doing a BASIC LONG square set . I've been getting my nails done since my school days and I've always had long nails. I stopped at this Salon since I was still in South Carolina and wanted something simple. 2 1/2 hours later and I leave with disappointing BULKY nails that couldn't be shaped properly even after multiple attempts. Wasted $70 just to have to soak them and off when I get back to Georgia .

Love this salon. Friendly and experienced staff. This location is so convenient with plenty of parking.

I've been coming here for 4 years and they always do a fabulous job! I do SNS on my nails and gel on my toes. The SNS lasts about 3+ weeks, toes last 6 weeks. Highly recommend

I meet a group of friends here every 3 weeks pretty much without fail. We have been going here for the past 18 months but we have been getting our nails done together for maybe the past 10 years. The places we all live includes Johns Island (me), downtown, Long Point Rd, and Sullivans Island. We have been all over West Ashley, Downtown and Mt Pleasant- maybe 8 different salons- and Top Nails is the winner hands down. We get our nails done every 3 weeks and pretty much a pedicure every 6 weeks. The staff here are professional and efficient and the store is very clean. It is a family owned business and many but not all of the staff are family members. Incidentally, they moved into a larger space in 2018. The new location is just two doors down from the old location in the same strip mall. The interior in addition to being larger is now BLUE. Any photograph on YELP of the interior with GREEN walls is the old (smaller and darker) location. In the new location you walk into a clean bright (blue) salon entirely for manicures. You walk through the manicure room to get to another large room (perpendicular to the first room) that is all pedicures. The staff here are also very creative and on point with the latest nail trends- which is fun. We have done regular polish, gel, SNS powder, OPI powder and another brand of powder I don't remember. I get complements on my nails on a regular basis. I've attached some examples to this review :)

Omg! My mom and I came here. This is my second visit after moving here in March... however this is the best pedicure I have ever had as my mother quotes and demanded I said the same words!!! They are gracious and loving here as well as being COVID 19 compliment.

This is the image of me walking away !!!! Let me explain

Shayla J.

I believe in second chances. After, several women in our plaza bragged about Long technical skills. I decided to give them one more chances. I had SNS nails that are so beautiful and natural . The shine held for 3 weeks. I'm getting a fill today . Simply because my nails grew faster. And I definitely need a fill.

Love this hidden little place. Came here one night because they were the only place still open at 7pm in Mount Pleasant and have been coming here ever since. Every manicure and pedicure I've gotten at Top Nails has been neat and tidy. You can't go wrong with any of the nail techs. They're all absolutely lovely and take excellent care of your nails. read more

I went to Hannah today after going to another nail salon that did an awful job. I was crying my eyes out in the car and decided to go get it fixed. The nail salon was super quick and and fixed my nails up within 30 minutes. She fixed the shape as well as the color. Their hours and prices are great. This nail salon seems popular with the locals and the staff was friendly but I have had much better manicures. I had the OPI gel done numerous times before and this is the first time that the gels started peeling after a couple of days. In addition, my daughter had her nails done and the polish came off in couple of days when she was swimming. We went on a Tuesday for their $4 off service special which does not specify with coupon, so my mom and sister did not get the discount since I asked about the discount after they had already paid. The ad also mentioned a free nail kit, which we didn't receive either. I did receive a nice eyebrow wax. read more

BE AWARE, UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AS OF MAY 2022. We used to love this place, until sold. They never let anyone know. If you have a nail tech that you thought you had a appointment with, they will tell you only after you sit down that " Oh he is on Vacation " and expect to use someone else. Not happy with the bait and switch game. Never going back. Luckily for us we found where our favorite people went to. read more

Try this salon because was close by the hotel I was lodging. The man that did my pedicure did a good job, but the lady I guess in charge was rude. Pedi was nice but I'm not happy with my gel manicure. The tech hardly cleaned up the skin around my nails so they look pretty crappy. Also, I went on a Saturday and the day after one of my nails chipped. I went back and got it fixed and two days later (Tuesday) another one chipped. It's now Wednesday and a 3rd has chipped. Maybe I just got a bad tech - not sure. But I'm pretty upset and doubt I'll be going back unless they make it right somehow. read more

Clean, friendly, and fast. I got a pedicure with a dark turquoise color. The massage that went with it was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep in the chair. My gel French manicure was expertly done by Katie who has been in the business for 18 years. Many of the locals know that they can pop in for a quick touch up. I went on favorable reviews from Yelp but this time I do not agree. I took advantage of trying a new place while in Mount P. The shop seemed very dirty and bare. I have lived in Charleston for years and have never found a nail place I am happy with. Most places downtown over charge and under deliver, and are often too busy to even notice you walked in the door. Such was the case today and it was so bad we were willing to go over the bridge to Mount P and try this place. I AM SO GLAD WE DID! We came in at 5:20 on a Sunday knowing they closed at 6:00 (called ahead to be sure) and were the only people in the place. They seemed actually delighted to have us and didn't rush our manicures or pedicures at all and did a great job. The foot massage / leg massage was the best I have had in a long time. I am so happy I found Top Nails and will most certainly be back. read more

I had the best experience tonight at Top Nails. On a Friday, it's expected there be a wait but the staff was so great, apologizing and offering me beverages. I didn't mind waiting at all but once I was called over, they took great care of me. My technician did an amazing job and let me show him a pic of what I wanted. He was so detail oriented and careful, and he kept checking with me to see if I was happy as I went. When I went to pay, they gave me a 10% discount for the wait, which was completely unnecessary but a sign of great customer service. I will definitely be back again! read more

This gave me pause to seek out another business. Heck, after clipping my nails and toes for 5+ months and going sans polish, I was ready. NextDoor posted a fabulous shout out to K Salon (on Simmons Street in the Old Village in Mt. Pleasant). My interest was piqued. I checked out the business on Yelp and Google ... all positive ... and went on to Facebook. I liked Kelly's FB presence and her Covid-19 protocol. This operation would be a different experience for me. Kelly rents a room in a small, rather old fashioned hair salon. I liked this. I didn't want to deal with many of the 'covid' issues I would face in a busy nail salon. I made an appointment for a mani-pedi and was set. I brought my own polish, etc. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't anxious when I pulled up onto the lot. Kelly met me outside. Though we were both masked, I could feel her smile. I began to relax and we settled in. Kelly knows nails. After 15 years with OPI, she knew what she was doing. She was immaculate ... disinfecting everything multiple times ... and proficient. She offers all nail applications, including exquisite nail foils. Prices are fair and competitive. I was thrilled and couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. The technician who did my manicure seemed rushed from the start. My cuticles were trimmed so aggressively that they were bleeding, and the polish application was sloppy. When she finished, she immediately got up and walked to the back and never returned. I was left sitting there and had to pick up my jacket and purse and carry them myself to the drying table. In the process, I smudged a couple of nails. I tried to find the technician to fix them but couldn't locate her. At that point, I just wanted to leave. It's disappointing because the salon clearly has talented staff, but the inconsistency in service really took away from what should have been a pleasant visit. I went to Top Nails today, few days before the 4th of July. Expected it to be very busy which they were. We waited for few minutes which is okay because they were busy and we were seated shortly. The technicians were very polite and friendly. My pedicure felt AMAZING and it were not rushed when there are people waiting. It was my husband first pedicure and he loved it. Told me he will sneak out and go by himself from now on :). Gel manicure were Perfect, I am really picky when it comes to my hands. They polish it close to my cuticles and it was perfectly rounded, which I love because when it grows out it will still look good. There is a bonus where there is a restaurant beside the salon and you can order a glass wine while you get your pedicure. Overall it is the best salon to go. I have tried different places around the area when I am down from Charlotte and Top Nails is by far the best. I will definitely be back when I am down in Charleston again. read more

I went to Top Nails to get a gel mani and pedi and it was my best experience. The staff were super friendly and color selection is great. I have a very bad ingrown toenail and it was very well taking care of. I could hardly walk with it but now it does not hurt as much when I wear my shoes. My gel manicure lasted for almost 3 weeks. My nails are very thin so the gel could chip very easily but it only did when I hit my nails on a table top. Top Nails are wonderful and I will definitely be back. read more

The location is quaint and super clean, and they offered you a drink if you want one. I got a basic french tip gel set on my toes and they came out fine, the white tip aren't as curved as I would like but I'm not super picky with my toes. It's my fingernails I am super picky about. Unfortunately I am super picky with the shaping and sizing of my fingernails. One thumbnail is much smaller than the other which does bother me. Getting an acrylic set is always a hit or miss no matter where you go due to how thick they can come out, and I do think mine came out a little thicker than I hoped this time. I really like the color I chose and that I got the cats-eye design, but what drops my rating is the price of $150 without tip (for a classic pedi with new gel, acrylic set with gel, and catseye design) and the lesser attention to the small details. I wish all my nails' shape were sharper and less rounded at the tip, and that my thumbnails weren't two different sizes. It's hard to notice those imperfections in the salon so it's unfortunate that I only notice once I leave and came really look at them. Honestly it's the price that gets me. Charleston nail salons overcharge just because of the city. So ask for a price estimate beforehand so you don't look surprised at checkout!

I chose this salon because of the great reviews, but unfortunately my experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. I came in with a reference photo for a basic pink French manicure and specifically requested a coffin/square shape. Angie, the owner and technician who performed the service, completed both appointments. The initial appointment took nearly 2 hours, yet I left with nails that were uneven in shape and length, mismatched French tips, and did not resemble the inspiration photo I provided. I immediately contacted the salon, sent photos, and explained my concerns. The salon agreed the nails needed correction and asked me to return the following day. What should have been a quick fix turned into another 1.5-hour appointment. Every nail had to be re-filed, one nail had to be extended because it was noticeably shorter than the others, and the skin around my index finger was injured during filing. The area was painful enough that I had to ask for antiseptic and remained irritated for hours afterward. There was also cured product left on the skin around my thumb. Less than 24 hours after the correction appointment, one of the corrected extensions began lifting and bending, which was especially frustrating given the amount of time spent trying to fix the original issues. After nearly 4 hours across two visits for a simple French manicure, the nails still are not fully consistent in shape or length. I gave the salon every opportunity to correct the issues before leaving this review, but I will not be returning.
