This place is about a block away from where I live and I used to frequent this place for years until 2 of the main nail techs ( husband and wife) stopped workin there due to his wife ( Kim) car accident and was unable to sit for long periods of time.
So I needed my mani and pedi and remembered this place was quick and fast service ( get in and out). I walked in and noticed only one nail tech I was familiar with and the rest were all new. It was packed , as usual, and thought they would move people along. No there is one main guy who is Asian or Pacific Islander descent who wants to " talk like the people" and " showboat". Keep in mind this is in the urban core, but I guess professionalism is lost here?
The woman who did my mani was great. I had a gel mani that last 4 weeks and really didn't like the gel and wanted to return to white tips. She was patient, filed my nails down ( they grow ) and was pleasant. She was talking to the kids that were also there as well as her fellow co workers.
This one co worker, heavy set woman, seemed extremely lazy, lethargic and acted like she didnt want to work but just sit there and talk. I noticed most of the women wanted manis and the one tech who has been there and had done my pedi before was available and I asked him to do my pedi. He agreeded so he went on a smoke break and would come back and do my pedi. Cool, I mention this to the woman doing my nails that I want to have a pedi.
She mentions something to the lazy co worker, I just thought she was gettin the water ready like I had seen her do before. No she takes me over to do my pedi. I am uncomfortable of others who seem not to care about what they do doing anythin on me. I noticed her actions before didnt feel comfortable with her,
the male nail tech returns and says I thought I was doin it. I said yes, but she just grabs me and starts doing this, we both look at her and she then acts like she doesnt speak English and acting innocent.
She is picking her nose while she is working on my toes. I make comments she acts like she doesnt speak English.. i look at the male tech he looks at me .. am getting upset.. she s answering personal phone calls and she is workin on my toes with a sharp object and not paying attention and keeps turnin her head while she is talking to others trying to get into their conversations,,
I wanted color on my feet.. yes i do one thing on my hands and another on my toes.. she is disagrees and tells me i need to do same on toes what i do for hands.. ( ok who is paying for this any way?)
She does a lackluster job on my feet and toes and massage etc.. she is leanin on my newly painted toes and messing those up while tryin to paint the toe nails on my other foot.. lazy..
so she is making errors on my feet,. i point them out she assures me she can correct it etc.. if you do it riht the first ime you wouldnt have to keep it fixing it,,
i suddenly notice a few of my toes have black or blue marks embeded on the side.. asked her what that was she acts like she fixes it and blows me off then she actlbs like oh well.. then says it is my nails.. no it is the blue stuff she used in this water and she didnt wipe it off and now it is sealed into my nails.. pissed it just pissed.. are you happy. no i am not happy and you can tell am not happy..
so the first comes over and i pay and she returns and puts flip flops on my feet and tells me i can sit there til am ready to go.. i dont tip i never not tip.. i am a tipper i dont tip and the other tech can tell them i always tip.. i dont tip and yes i will look at my transactions to see if they added anything to the bill
no sooner has she put the flp flops on my feetl. here comes the lazy incompetent chick tryin to man handle me out of her chair ( there is no one else here) and telliing me to leave..
I wanted to kick her a*** and i grab my stuff and walk away to an area where I can sit and wait ... i wanted to hit her..
no i will never come back .. you get what you pay for and where you are at too is a reflection of the service.. never again never again i wish the husband and wife team were back cause this place is crap now read more
