When I had to take over my parents house I discovered that I needed a new roof put on the house and…read moreso I called Lyster's because I knew they were the best contractor for the job. They came to the house and worked with me to get the roof done right away . In the end they were able to do the whole roof including replacing some boards as well . They were so easy and great to work with. I got a fantastic price and so I hired them to do the job. I have never regretted hiring them to do the job and they also took the time to completely replace all the gutters too. I recently was told by another company that I was in need of a new roof and probably some boards too. The guy said that I had black mold in my attic as well. The guy was from Top Home Improvements. I had went to the Senior Expo a couple of weeks ago and they had a both there so I signed up to get a quote and roof inspection. I would never ever use that company to do anything on my house ever! The guy outright lied to me and the pictures he said that he showed me indicating that I definitely needed to get my roof replaced and have some other repairs too. In the end I showed everything to the guy from Lysters and he pointed out to me that the first pictures he had taken were of my house but the pictures he showed me of what was supposedly my with damaged shingles and supposedly some soft spots in the roof. Indicating that I also needed some boards replaced too. In the end the guy from Lysters went up on my roof and looked it completely over then said to me your roof is in great shape and he also told me that if I had a leak in the roof causing black mold to grow in there then the water leak would also have gone down to the main level of the house and I would have water spots showing up. I have no water spots anywhere in the upstairs of my home. Once again just proving that I was actually lied to. The great news was I not only didn't need a new roof at all and the one I have now is going to be fine for at least another 10 to probably 15 years. I felt so relieved because the quote from Top Home Improvement was for just under $35,000.00 ! I can assure you that if I ever need work done on my home I will never call anyone but Lyster's to do the job. As for Top Home Improvement I would never use them for any job. I'm just so angry that they outright lied to me and almost cost me a substantial amount of money that was never necessary to spend whatsoever. I guess I would say buyer beware of who you call to do important work on your home. By not getting a second opinion I would have spent a huge amount of money that wasn't really necessary at all. I have also learned that from now on before I hire any company to do work on my home I'll definitely be checking with the Better Business Bureau too. They collect information about all kinds of companies and post the reviews of what other people have had to say about the company.

I…read morewas promised that someone would show up and provide an estimate in an email the following week or so but that never happened and I called the company back a few more times with no avail. I felt like they didn't want my business but my neighbors used them so I tried a few more times and finally got Jessie Cunningham and his side kick to show up for an inspection and provide me a proper quote. Here is the email I got from Jessie after he send me a quote: "Hello Trevor, I was just thinking about you and wanted to touch base with you to see if you or your wife had any questions and to see where you are in the decision making process for the roof project. I am here for you to be your project partner and want to do anything I can to make the project work for you. Let me know, Thank you" Pretty nice follow up. I was taking some time to talk to the wife about his $20k quote and thinking about it and replied with this: "$20k is way more than I thought this project would cost. I'm going to have to check around to see what others in my community paid and do some comparisons before I pull the trigger." To my surprise Jessie rudely responded: "No problem, that price is technically only good for 7 days anyway do to price increases. I understand wanting to check around for a cheap roofing company and I know we are not cheap so I am not offended if you can't afford us. I just wanted to stay in communication so I didn't leave you feeling like you weren't taken care of. I know you were persistent about getting a quote right away so I'm glad I could make that happen for you atleast. You should have no problem finding a cheap company cause there are many of them out there but please let me know if you need any assistance in the future." My response: "There are many things in life that I won't go cheap on and buying a new roof on my home is not one. I don't intent on going with a "cheap" company. Honestly I was going to use your company but after your insulting email I'm definitely not. Just because I have a budget in mind doesn't mean I'm too poor to afford your prices. And who the hell would want a "cheap" roofing company on a house in this neighborhood anyway? So sorry to waste your precious time coming out for a quote. I made the mistake and thought you were a honest and reputable company but clearly after your insulting email I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and take some courses in customer service. You might learn something new. " Mr. Cunningham's apology: "It was not intended to be insulting so my apologies for your interpreting it that way. I also agree that we are not the right fit for you. I hope you have a blessed day and the best of luck with your project. "

We purchased 2 ceiling fans from Hodgson, and they recommend Lamplighter for install. A crew of 4…read moreguys came, were very nice, and we stayed out of their way while they did the install. At the end of the install, they let us know that the wall switches don't work and they may have purchased incompatible ones. We thought that was weird but no big deal, and they said they would call us back to install correct switches. They left. We checked the fans, which seemed to be wobbling quite a bit. We called Hodgsons to ask if that was normal and they had us check the fan blades, which slid in and out. Hodgson told us that the blades must be loose based on that, and that it isnt normal. I called Lamplighter back that day (a Friday), and the receptionist said they would have a manager call me Monday. No call Monday or Tuesday, so I left a message again. No return call. We had Hodgsons come out and they said they had talked to Lamplighter, and Lamplighter never told them about the incorrect switches. He also said that they had told him that they didn't want to speak to me because we were rude during install...weird because I helped make sure they navigated the large ladder upstairs, asked if they needed anything, and told them I would be downstairs out of their way during install, but to get me if they needed me. Hodgsons found several issues: all fan blades were installed loose, causing the wobbling. One fan had all blades installed upside down. The pin in the downrod wasn't put in in either fan, and they were unsure how Lamplighter got the wrong wall switches. I called Lamplighter AGAIN and they still refused to call back, even after Hodgsons talked to them about all the install issues. No apology, no call back...nothing. Hodgsons was EXCELLENT to work woth and repaired all of the errors made by Lamplighter. I would not recommend Lamplighter for both shoddy work and terrible customer service.
