I wanted to recognize Dave Macy of Home Safe Home Inspections. I tried to have Dave inspect my…read morehome after reviewing numerous positive online reviews and comments. Dave talked to me for 15-20 minutes because he wanted to understand the problems I was experiencing. One of the problems was two brick encased windows. He let me know he didn't believe he possessed the necessary tools/infrared equipment to definitively diagnose the problems as I explained them. So, he refers me to another home inspector who he believed could provide an economical remedy. Who does this in today's world???? Add Dave Macy to such a list. Dave took the time to listen. He provided suggestions on where to investigate some of the other problems I was experiencing, but he turned the job down. I thanked him for his time, but more importantly for his integrity....since he didn't want to take the chance that his fee would not resolve ALL my concerns. Ironically, the home inspector he referred spoke highly of Dave's work product as a fellow board Certified Master Inspector (CMI). What's not to like about Dave, even though he chose to pass on my project. You don't get this type of integrity from people today. Thank you Dave, but in retrospect, I should have hired you just based on your honesty and integrity!

He offers honest, professional opinion and denotes items of immediate attention appropriately. Tim is knowledgeable about building code and building methods, pointing out good work from bad and vis versa. You will come away very confident in what you are about to purchase or know why your choice of home may not be optimal. I learned that he is President of his own homeowners association, which says a great deal about his character and his genuine concern for the community and other people. This company is dishonest, biased , and incomplete when it comes to home inspections. They came…read moreout to inspect our home and stated that the bathroom exhaust fan contributed to mold in the attic. We had our handyman go up into the attic to check and treat the"mold" and our handyman said there was positively no mold. He even took a video of the attic to show us. Our handyman didn't ask for payment since he wasn't able to treat anything. Another item that Brady & Henderson stated was a defective and dangerous item was the electrical mast where the wires come into the house. This company stated that it was too close to an openable window. We were puzzled as to why the City of University Heights didn't catch this on their point of sale inspection so we asked a licensed electrician to come out and inspect. The electrician inspected and measured and stated that the electrical wires coming into the house were done correctly to code, and there was more than the 3 foot clearance requirement. Again Brady & Henderson was incorrect! Brady & Henderson did a visual inspection of the roof and recommended that the roof be replaced. Replaced? The roof was only 10-12 years old!!! We paid a professional roofing company to actually go up on the roof to inspect. We were told that the roof still had another 10 years. This has got to be the worst home inspection company!

As a result of his thorough inspection and explanation, I was able to prioritize the items requiring immediate attention and identify which items needed remedy repairs before continuing with the purchase of the home. Chris personally answered my call to schedule. He was able to arrange the inspection at a time that I could attend, and worked within the timelines of my purchase contract. With his expertise, he was able to inspect all aspects of the home I needed inspected in the same visit and estimated the inspection time at about 3 hours. Chris was patient and took the time to speak with me and explain the process and arrangements. At the time of inspection, he arrived just ahead of schedule and was friendly and efficient. He allowed me to follow him through the inspection and explained his process and findings as we went. He left no stone unturned, remaining focused on the inspection and completed the inspection right on the time estimated. He delivered the completed inspection report electronically within a day. I feel that the time and attention he gave the inspection and the fantastic detailed report provided were worth far more than the fee I paid for his service. The thorough inspection service and report he provided were far superior those of my previous home inspections with other inspectors. I very much appreciated that he reasonably assessed the condition of the home given its age and educated me at the level appropriate to my knowledge and experience along the way. I was very pleased and I will definitely keep his number on hand for future use and referral. Exceptional quality and value, thank you!

If you are an original home owner and are ready for a bit of a change, or you bought a home…read morerecently, and are looking for a change, I can't recommend Don @ Don Rite Remodeling highly enough. We had him do some work at our house to update the basement and first floor. His crew was by far the best crew we have had out to work on the house. Don told us they would be here for three weeks to do the work. I expected a couple hours a day, but his crew was here 8-4 every weekday. It took four weeks, but that's only because we had to isolate for a week for COVID exposure. Everyday at 3, the crew would stop working, and to my surprise, clean everything. Having your home under construction for any period of time is rough, especially with kids, but Don's crew made sure that when they finished for the day, the areas were clean and livable. His prices are reasonable. He actually made a mistake, and gave us an estimate that was too low for the work, but when we signed the contract, he let us know he would stick to his estimate has best he could. And, in the end, he honored his estimate, even though it was lower than the cost of work. Don is not in the business of charging you for subpar work. His newest crew member made a mistake with some work, and Don, being the perfectionist he is, insisted that they ripe the work out and redo it at his cost. If you are interested in a remodel, maybe a deck or addition, give Don Rite Remodeling a call. Let him know I sent you! https://donriteremodeling.com
