This idiot Paul has the manners of a goat and is Just as rude. He and his half brained assistant come into your house and use your tools and ladder without asking and then don't anything back. They told the seller that he doesn't like the fuse boxes and that the furnace was too old. Even though all the other inspectors said it's all fine. He honestly seems like a rude ass. It is a great experience working with Paul as the first time home buyer. He is very responsive. We called and scheduled a home inspection in 2 days. His report is detailed oriented. He is a certified Radon Tester. He went to the house to set up Radon detector 48hrs ahead of time. He took many pictures with great resolutions that marked all the defects and concerns of the building with annotations. He contacted my realtor and seller directly for meeting up and scheduling. This was the first house we purchased. When looking up reviews for different inspectors, Paul stood out. His reviews all mention he is very professional and incredibly thorough. We found this to be very true. He was INCREDIBLY thorough. Exactly what you want when you are making the largest purchase of your lifetime. Paul was available on short notice. We had great communication via email, even though I'm from abroad and he had to arrange the inspection with a third party (the current tenants). After the inspection was done, Paul emailed me a very detailed report in a matter of hours which included a lot of pictures and made me feel like I was at the property with him during the inspection. We had a home we liked quite a bit, and while he didn't completely pooh-pooh it, he gave us a 45 page document with photographic evidence of what was in great shape, and what was in less good shape. Paul was very flexible on short notice and was willing to work with our schedule. He got there an hour early and covered the whole outside so he would be ready to explain it to us when we got there! He spent a good two and a half hours walking us through the house and assigning everything to one of seven easily understood categories. We have purchased over 25 homes in different parts of the US and engaged home inspections for most of those properties. We do our research and generally end up with a solid understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the houses before buying as a result of those inspections. I'm taking the time to write this recommendation because Paul is by far our favorite home inspector we've experienced. He is extremely detail oriented, but has a process where he moves through the property in an appropriate amount of time. Hands down spectacular. I'm not an expert on home inspections but can tell when a person really loves his job and wants to treat you like he wants to be treated--the best he can. He is very knowledgeable looking through each nook and cranny and educating as he is going. He jumps quickly around the house looking for any defects not to worry you but to really make sure you know what you are buying into. After this we were able to renegotiate the price of the house for several thousand dollars less since it was fair that some major repairs would eventually need to be made and was not a factor in the initial negotiation. He also followed up on the phone on things a week later since he had suggested a more thorough inspection of the basement by a structural engineer; His followup on what the engineer found shows he was looking for the feedback and knowledge to even be better skilled at what he does-- truly a mark of a great professional.
