Alright, forget about finding some of the chili in Boise at a restaurant. You'll have to track down…read moreChilitime.com to get that. It might be a little difficult at first, but I promise you time worth huntin' them down. When I saw Chilitime.com would be two miles away from my subdivision I made it my mission to head down and give them a try. I hate dealing with rush hour traffic, so I rarely dine out on weekdays, but I couldn't pass this opportunity up after hearing about their chili dogs for months. It's easy to spot the big, orange chili truck from afar. A very nice man (owner, I presume) told us about the chili and offered us samples of their "Traditional" Texas and "House" Cincinnati. I had to go with the Traditional (a spicy blend of peppers, tomatoes, onions and other spices, with beans included) on the Knife & Fork Dog (jumbo hot dog, butterflied on bun, covered in chili, onions, & cheese, $8.00). YUM YUM YUM. High quality bun and dog, chili was full of delicious beef and jam packed with flavor that burst like dynamite with each bite with a generous amount of cheese once melted only enhanced the experience. Topped with a lil' complementary jalapeños and pepperonchinis for an extra crunch, I devoured my dinner and spent the rest of my evening a very happy and satisfied customer. In addition to chili cups and dogs, they offer various appetizers like chili tots, chili fries, corn bread muffins, chip and dip, and nachos which I'm already aiming to try next time around. I wanted to try this trip but I have a rather small tummy and can only eat so much food...the worst curse a foodie can have IMO. You can find their schedule on the Street Food Finder app or their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. I can't wait to try the Cincinnati chili when they're in my vicinity once more!

I ordered mine "five-way", which means it included spaghetti, chili, beans, onions and cheese. It's a hearty and filling dish that will appeal to many. The owners of this business are Tim and Kristine Rogan. Kristine grew up in Cincinnati, which is where this dish originated. There are numerous businesses that specialize in Cincinnati chili, but the two most famous are Skyline and Gold Star. To appreciate Cincinnati chili it's helpful to know a little about the history of this dish. In 1921. Tom and John Kiradjieff Immigrated from Greece to the United States. They begin servingIt a "stew with Mediterranean spices" as a topping for hotdogs, which they called "coneys." In 1922, Tom used the sauce to modify a traditional Greek pasta dish, and came up with a dish that he called chili spaghetti. His initial recipe required the spaghetti to be cooked in the chili, but due to customer demand, he began serving the sauce as a topping to spaghetti, eventually adding grated cheese as a topping for both the chili spaghetti and the coneys. Compared to a traditional Texas chili, Cincinnati chili is a thin meat sauce that typically includes a bit of cinnamon. as well as other spices. Although I've only had this dish once, I can understand how it might quickly become a favorite comfort food. I look forward to trying it again.

Owner/Operator Todd Fox, who is a Navy Vet, has been serving high-quality hotdogs three times a week for the past four years. I learned about this business just a couple of weeks before my first visit on 10/30/20. Todd switches up his menu periodically. On the night I visited, he had 7 hotdogs/sausages on his menu, as well as a Pulled Pork Sandwich on a Pretzel Bun and Pulled Pork Nachos The hotdogs included an all-beef jumbo dog, smoked German sausage, a beer brat, Basque chorizo, Cajun andouille, bacon & pineapple chicken sausage, and a veggie dog. As someone who fancies myself a bit of a hotdog connoisseur, I was excited to learn that Todd orders his hotdogs and sausages from a variety of sources, including several I've never tried before. The All-Beef jumbo dog is from Double R Ranch. The smoked German sausage is from Zenners. The Beer Brat is Kirkland brand. The Basque chorizo is Falls brand. The Cajun Andouille and the Bacon & Pineapple Chicken Sausage are Aidell's. The Veggie dog is Field Roast. I wanted to order one of everything, but given that I had plans to try another new place later that night and Foxy Franks doesn't offer hot dog flights, I thought the best strategy was to start at the top of the list and work my way down. I ordered the Double R Ranch All-Beef Jumbo Dog with grilled onions and mustard ($3.75). I love Double R Ranch, but this was my first time trying their hotdogs. Heck, I didn't even know they had hotdogs. Although I chose the most basic dog on the menu, it as perfectly grilled and the flavor as fantastic. It was everything you want a hotdog to be. After scarfing down my hotdog, it took every ounce of willpower to refrain from getting out of my car and going back to order the smoked German sausage. I had two conflicting voices in my head. One said "Go get it! You didn't get to celebrate Oktoberfest this year. This is your chance!" The other voice said "Remember that time you thought it was a good idea to eat two Pronto Pup at The Western Idaho Fair? That second Pronto Pup was a bit of a letdown. Walk away." With regret, I did. Normally Foxy Franks shut down over the winter, but Todd is still posting occasional dates/locations/times. Perhaps it's the unseasonably warm weather we've had lately. Whatever the reason, considerate it your good fortune. Thursday, January 7, Foxy Franks will be at County Line Brewing in Garden City from 5 to 7:30 PM. On Friday, January 8th. Foxy Franks will be at Payette Brewing Co. in Boise 2 to 8 PM. For future dates/locations/times, like and follow Foxy Frank's Facebook page and Instagram. Foxy Franks goes to several different locations, including one in Nampa. Highly Recommended!!!

But, I did also checked out the physical menu too just in case I missed something cool. Walking into the joint, it's loaded with sports decor. I appreciate all the football decor.. it got me pumped up for football season. There were three gals at the front. I'm not trying to read too much into it but one of the gals needs to learn how to smile at guests. Nothing like smiling at someone to have her give you back such an awful glare. RBF doesn't make guests feel welcomed. The sweet gal at the register helped me out with my order. For my husband's lobsta roll, we got it all modified and ordered. I also got myself some jalapeno poppers. I smashed my jalapeno poppers! Some of the jalapenos were not spicy but some had a good heat to them. I like that you got a good amount of cream cheese in the middle. It wasn't overwhelming. I like the crust that they used on the outside, it was crunchy and savory. I stole a bite of my husband's lobsta roll. That baby was loaded with lobster, crab and shrimp. I love the buttery bun they used. It was soft and extra extra buttery. The garlic fries were legit! They were so good! I ate a couple of those babies hot and cold. Regardless of temp, the fries were good. They were garlicky and salty. The perfect fry! I'm happy I got to stop by and grab some goodies from this joint. Everything was so good! I look forward to coming back for some more of this great food.

It was a lobster/shrimp salad that is cold. Not bad but not great either. Had potato dippers (think French fries the size and shape of Fritos scoops). Very tasty and served with a couple different dipping sauces. My friend ordered the Hail Mary (bbq burger with an onion ring) and said it was delicious!!! Price point is good here. I will definitely be back!

If your coming here for the first time do not miss the schnitzel meals! It's a good hearty meal to fill a hungry belly! The pork is flattened thin, cooked perfectly and the breading flavorful and crispy. The fries thicker cut, skin on and nicely salted, yum! I had the Donor Kebab this time because I hadn't tried it yet and I have been missing out. It was really good! The mixed meat was on point and cooked just right. The veggie combinations were different then what I'm used to with kebabs but it worked really well. They had red cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. The pita was wrapped in a thin, yet thick enough wrap to hold it all together and it was a perfect compliment to this Kebab! You can also never go wrong with any sausages, bratwurst or bologna. I like that they don't have a huge menu because everything you get is quality ingredients made with care. Did I mention beer? They have a multitude of glasses and form factors to pour into. The owners and employees have been consistently very kind and helpful with any questions I have about the market or restaurant since the beginning. Speaking of the market, they have always had great and fair prices with their imported items and its one of the only places in town that has quality European dark chocolates. Definitely do not miss this stop if you like good beer and excellent food!
