It's fantastic for numerous reasons...it's cute, modern, spacious, inviting, and they make the best Gelato, European coffee, and sandwiches (think ribeye, meatball, and a half dozen other mouth-watering sandwiches). This Gelateria is very dedicated to it's European roots, and all of food seems to reflect that well. Their Gelato is dreamy, creamy, and delectably delicious. There were three of us, and we ordered the Huckleberry (which had a secret chocolate layer in the middle), the Hazelnut, plus Peanut Butter Cookie gelato, and topped everything off with a very large piece of the Bread Pudding (decadent). They also serve up pastries, European coffee, and even frozen doggy desserts! You can also just get a small Tiramisu dessert to go! We will absolutely be back, especially in this overly hot weather. When I arrived to pick up the cheesecakes, I was told that the order could not be completed because they require five days' notice. However, I never received an email, text message, or phone call informing me that the order could not be fulfilled. In the past, I had received messages from them with questions about an order or notification when they were unable to complete one. The situation became even more disappointing when I asked to speak with a manager. I showed her that the online ordering page was unclear about the required advance notice and suggested adding specific information for customers ordering cheesecakes. I also explained that I had not received any notification about the issue and suggested sending customers a text message when an order cannot be fulfilled. Rather than acknowledging the communication problem or apologizing for the inconvenience, the manager placed the responsibility entirely on me, stating that I should have called to confirm the order. She also said that, because they are a small team of three, they do not have time to communicate with customers by phone or text. I understand that small businesses have staffing limitations, but the lack of communication and the manager's dismissive response were unacceptable. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and after this experience, feel less likely to return despite their awesome pastries. (UPDATE: the following day I noticed they had updated their online order request to include "7 day notice requested for all orders". So, even though the manager/owner did not accept any accountability to to situation and acted completely unsympathetic to the outcome, she must have realized that they could do something on their side to keep this from happening again to someone else in the future).
