This is the large size cannoli.

The cannolis made by Tony (Cannoli) and his wife Emma, are sheer perfection! The ricotta filling has just the right amount of sweetness. Unlike other cannolis I've tried, this filling is not gritty, but rather smooth and airy. The cannoli shell has great flavor and holds its crunch. I prefer traditional pistachio and chocolate chip toppings, but others are available. I highly recommend this business and their excellent products. Check out their website for where their cart location will be around the Treasure Valley. A shop off Overland and 5 Mile will be opening later this year.

Amazing Cannolis! Tony's cannolis are fresh and delicious!! Customer service was amazing as well. Highly recommend them.

Chocolate chip, raspberry, pistachio and orange. Choco chip and orange my favorites!

Odd. After paying, didn't tell me to wait, sit, or if they'd bring it to me. Severely lacking basic service skills. Ordered the funky chicken sandwich and a bottle of soda. $12.99 for two pieces of bread with a little filling, and a slice of cheese (see pic). Sandwich assembler eventually brought my sandwich out to me. Will not be returning to this place. Wayyyy better off going to any of the many sandwich chains.

Boise Pie Company was recently sold to new owners yet again, this is the second owner (or maybe the…read morethird?) since the original owner opened this business in 2018. I haven't been in in a while because the location is an awkward one for me and the interior is not particularly a cozy place to sit and enjoy a piece of pe. But Boise Pie Company pies in limited options are now available to order through Farm Deliver (the aggregator for local food hub that takes orders for local farmer and producers and delivers their good things to homes on Wednesday afternoons) so I had a Peach Huckleberry pie in the delivery yesterday afternoon. The crust on this pie was so delicious, in fact much better than my memory of Boise Pie Co. pies being ever. I wonder if the new owner changed the crust recipe? I often leave the crust on a piece of pie, but on this one I ate every crumb. Every holiday I try to find a local producer food item to gift to neighbors. Something that doesn't need to be eaten right away but can be saved and used at any time during holidays or after. I know Boise Pie Co is now providing frozen take and bake Huckleberry pies. If they're still doing that at holiday time, they may be my choice for the neighbors' gifts. (I plan ahead. :-) ) In years past it has been treats like the frozen Lasagna or Chicken pot pie from Certified Kitchen & Bakery's freezer case or Dan Ansotegui's award winning Basque chorizo sausages from Ansot's cold case or stollen from Acme Bakery or assorted artisan chocolates from Chocolat Bar so Boise Pie Co would join great company in the gifting. ;-)

I couldn't sleep last night so of course I decided to do some research on some local bakeries in…read moreour area. I am always down for something sweet! I have driven by this shop a million times but never got the chance to make it in. After checking out all their photos and goodies off their website, making my way in today was a must. The shop is very small and intimate. You are immediately greeted by all the goodies as soon as you walk in. Colorful macarons, the cutest cheesecakes and beautifully displayed scones and muffins. The display case is nice and bright, allowing you to be able to see the details and coloring of each macaron. The pretty piping on the cheesecake. The fun layers of the cakes. It was hard not to want one of each thing out of the case. It was our first visit for my daughter and I. As a new customer, you're trying to absorb everything about this store. You want to look at all your options! The gal that initially was going to help us pretty much just stood there and stared at us. Didn't really talk to us. Didn't ask if we had any questions. She had the most unpleasant look on her face. It honestly made me feel so unwanted and uncomfortable to be at the shop. I offered to let another customer go ahead of us so she wasn't just standing there waiting for us to order something. The second customer also needed some time. Finally a gentleman came in and she got him some coffee started. Another gal was working and she helped us. At that point, I was so turned off about getting anything but we were already there so we decided to grab a few things. My daughter and I decided to share a 6 pack of macarons. We snagged lemon, birthday cake, coffee, chocolate, creme brulee and cookies and cream as our flavor choices. She also got a red velvet cheesecake for us to share after dinner tonight. On our ride home, we broke that box of macarons open and had to try them all. The lemon was sweet and tangy, I love the lemon custard in the middle. Birthday cake reminds me of a pink frosted animal cookie. The chocolate was my favorite! Very chocolate forward and sweet. Coffee reminded me of a vanilla latte in cookie form. Cookies and cream was much like cookies and cream ice cream. More cream forward and less chocolate cookie. Creme brulee had sugar toasted on top which created a slight bitterness to the cookie but it was balanced with how sweet the cookie was. All 6 macarons were fabulous! I look forward to having the red velvet cheesecake after dinner tonight. I like that there are so many gluten free options at this bakery. I adore how petite and prettily decorated the pastries were. I appreciate that this joint is local as I love supporting local businesses. But, first impressions are so huge for me and my first impression of their customer service wasn't there for me. You can push out great products all you want but how you make someone feel during their purchase can make or break your business. As fantastic as my macarons were, all I can think about was how uncomfortable I was when I was just being stared at. Macarons and cheesecake can be purchased at a few joints in our valley. I'm happy I got to enjoy some goodies with my daughter but I'm going to go support another local business that will actually make me feel like a valued customer and not a bother.

Then I ordered their phenomenal short rib pasta and my wife had a salad that could have fed both of us. The vibe of Percy is a mix of business professional and casual lunch with friends. The other person there was great though! I was drawn in by the array of unique flavors and vegan options. I had really wanted to get something boozy and vegan, but they only had one flavor on at the moment that fit the bill and I wasn't particularly interested, so I sampled a few of the dairy boozy flavors and went with a vegan non-boozy ice cream for my actual order because a full scoop of dairy ice cream does not sit right in my stomach. I liked the boozy flavors more but that was only because of the flavors offered - the vegan ice cream itself was great, very smooth and creamy, not overly sugary. I got the float season vegan ice cream: blackberry ice cream with salted dark chocolate. I did still enjoy this flavor a lot. I really liked the crunchy bittersweet dark chocolate bits. I didn't get anything to drink but I was kind of tempted. The ice cream + beer or wine flights looked interesting. I don't know wine well enough to comment, but it looked like they had a good selection of beer with quality brewers and a good variety of beer types. This is technically a Warehouse Food Hall vendor but it's only accessible from the street outside the food hall. I wasted a few minutes wandering around the food hall trying to find it before I looked outside. They have a fair amount of seating inside and outside.
