I live in New York where decent, cheap nail salons are a dime a dozen, but I come to York about once a month to visit family, and I ALWAYS schedule an appointment with JJ for when I am here. JJ does the very best job on my nails of any nail tech I have ever tried. She is efficient, patient, and friendly. Her attention to detail and craftsmanship is top notch. Her acrylics usually last three weeks before I need to get them filled which saves me a lot of money in relation to the place I go in New York which has me in desperate need at two weeks. Color selection is outstanding. The price is on par with New York prices as well, which is hard to find in the York area, especially for the high quality received here. Appointments definitely recommended. read more

Top Coat is excellent. I had been going to another place for about a year and started getting a fungus. They said it was my fault. That it was growing from the inside. My dip powder nails were starting to pop off all the time. I have had my nails done twice, once by Ruby and once by JJ. They were both professional and courteous. I did not grow a fungus and my nails stayed on the whole time. I was very pleased and am hoping I have found a new place to be loyal to!!! read more

The young lady is very rude and argued with me. Unprofessional. I was upset at how thin my nails were. She then tried to tell me about how many customers she's dealt w and I had to remind her how many hours of cosmetology school I had. VERY RUDE. Never again. The lady that actually did my nails was way nicer but over all the young lady in there ruined it for me. read more

I just left top coat and was highly disappointed and hurt more than anything because I feel as though they do amazing work; however, I was treated rudely and unprofessional. I wrote a comment a couple of months ago telling people how amazing their work is and unfortunately I will have to change it. I made an appointment two days prior and when I walked in the wife was so rude and nasty as if I was just walking in without an appointment. She took me and did my fill in and was rushing the whole time. She wouldn't talk to me and overall rude. The husband was the only person to treat me kind and was able to do my pedicure.He was the first person to ask me how I was doing. I then proceeded to ask for a design and the husband ask the wife if she could do it. He comes back to say that the wife stated she could not and if I wanted one I would have to wait. With every other customer she proceeded to be so nice and kind to them; however, barely spoke to me and as I left, did not say goodbye or anything. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not they will treat you as if you just walked in and the attitude was very rude and unkind. I will be going somewhere else from now on and I am very disappointed. I just moved into the area a couple of months ago and to be treated like that is so disappointing and hurtful and I will not be back. They do amazing work; however, their attitude and customer service is horrible. It was interesting because she was nice to everyone else so I didn't understand why she was treating me this way. read more

I had appt for gel fill in. My appt was at 4 & they took me at 4:15 and said I couldn't do the two colors I requested. I asked if I could still do design and they seems annoyed but said okay. Fill took over one hour for one color. At the end, a lady came over and did TWO colors. They also took my picture at end without asking. There was little to no customer service or apology for inconvenience. One customer walked out on her pedicure as they had her sitting in basin so long without service. I was really excited due to all their awesome designs on their website hence the reason I picked that salon. They did a great job on my nails but I'm very disappointed in the customer service. read more

This place was awful. No one acknowledged my mom and I on arrival but they were very quick to say hello to the regulars who came in. I waited 30+ mins at a pedicure chair with shoes and socks off only to never be taken care of. I walked out. Friendly to their regulars that fork out money to them but not ones visiting on vacation. I had gone to Top Coat a couple times and had my nails done by JJ. I was always satisfied with them so when it came to making an appointment for my daughter for PROM ,I did not hesitate. My daughter had her nails done by JJ and in the middle of our appointment she wanted to push my daughter off on another employee because she had another appointment booked behind my daughter or double-booked I should say. When I made a little bit of a stink about it saying you know I don't think this is quite fair she then completed my daughter's nails but did it in a rush. My daughter's nails were different lengths, they had no design to them and the polish was sloppy. You know when you work hard for your money and you pay for a service you should be happy and satisfied at the end product. I was not neither was my daughter and we had to go to another salon to have them fixed. I would not recommend going to Top Coat. read more
