0 out of 10 would not recommend!! I ordered Mongolian beef with fried rice on the side with two egg rolls. I paid extra for the fried rice and didn't receive it. There was literally no meat in my Mongolian beef!! I did not receive fried rice and the egg rolls were cold and were discolored. Never eating here again!!! don't want your money or time!! read more

The food is always good here. It tastes much like every other Chinese restaurant but the separating factor is the friendly service and their prices are a little lower. If you like Chinese food it's worth a try. read more

Best Chinese in IOW. Highly recommend. Price is not bad. Their service isn't too bad either.

Fresh food and veggies. The hot and sour soup was well above average and i recommend it. The crab Rangoon was good, not great and only comes in orders of 10. I also had the kung pao beef and it was tasty. Meal sizes were large and prices were good. I highly recommend going here for takeout. read more

Had a takeout from here last night which was surprisingly great. The business has gone through a real transformation to meet the new world of COVID-19 when you are picking up your food and paying for it. It's not clear if they have new owners since I never really liked their taste before... but last night's meal changed my mind. Only draw back was the lack of ability to order online so you have to do it old school and call... speak to someone who you can't understand... and then hope your order is correct. They really need an internet presence... it is a cheap thing to do these days. Food tasted great. We ordered a few meals like General Tso's and requested all white meat (which they accommodated) 10 out of 10 and a House Special Chow Mein which was a 7 out of 10. Boneless spare ribs 10 out of 10 and fried pork dumplings also a 10 out of 10. We will be going back! Sorry for no photos. read more

This is my go-to Chinese lunch spot when I come to Smithfield. The lunch menu is $5 and the portions are great. Each meal comes with a soup or egg roll. I've never tried anything on that menu I don't like. I've had the chicken and broccoli, peppered steak, and sweet and sour chicken just to name a few. I usually add on one of their sweet teas which taste more like a juice. When I'm on a lunch break, I can call ahead and it'll be ready by the time I drive down the street. I don't suggest eating in during the winter because it's very cold inside with the door opening and closing. You literally feel like you're sitting outside. I normally stick to the lunch menu, but this time I tried their hibachi menu. You have your choice of steak, chicken, shrimp, or a combination and a choice of noodles or rice. It came out just as fast as every other meal. The portions were big. My only complaint was that it was missing the zucchini they advertised and they were out of white sauce. But it tasted pretty good. For a hibachi lunch, there's a restaurant down the street that has $6 hibachi lunch deals. The portions are smaller, but the price is better. However if you're interested in hibachi for dinner, I'd suggest getting take out here and getting a little more bang for you buck. read more

I have lived in this area about 15 years and have eaten here only a few times. I love Chinese food but I haven't frequented this restaurant in many years maybe I was disappointed in the past and it's been so long that I have forgotten. I was disappointed today. I bought shrimp fried rice. I don't know, I kind of expected rice, shrimp, onions, peas, carrots maybe even some eggs and bean sprouts. Instead all I got was rice, shrimp and onions. The shrimp and the onions maybe even the rice wasn't fried long enough.I swear I myself could have made this. Extremely disappointed. Not sure I'll ever eat here again. read more

I called to place an order to go. The person I was attempting to communicate with had a heavy accent. She spoke Chin-glish. I gave my order but not being able to understand her confirming words despite my best attempt, I simply repeated what I wanted a second time. I did make out the word combo (a word that I didn't use) but that was it, I finally gave up, just said yes not really knowing what the hell I had just agreed to. Maybe it was General's chicken, maybe I had just agreed to make her car payment, I had no idea. Never asked for a name or number. Arriving about ten minutes later, again really couldn't understand a word but handed her my credit card and the amount charged was correct, so I waited for it to be cooked whatever it was going to be. Within a few minutes my order was ready and I just left because I needed to get to work. As it turned out it really was General's chicken w/fried rice and an egg roll. Tops China has great food. We eat there all the time. Never had a bad meal from them. Tops isn't gourmet chinese food, but if you're looking for great taste, huge portions and minimal cost, then Tops is for you. The Egg Rolls are delicious. The General Tso's Chicken and Sesame Beef are great. Beef Lo Mein and Fried Rice are great. My family eats there at least twice a month and they are always good. read more

Tonight we had the misfortune of ordering Chinese food from Tops . To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The wonton soup was so bad that we both spit out the wontons instead of swallowing them. The eggrolls were burned on the edges, and almost raw in the middle. The general's chicken tasted like the frozen general's chicken that is sold at Costco. The vegetables that came with our entrees may have been ok had they not been drowned in sauce. Instead, they were soggy and had no flavor. I wish I had at least one good thing to say about the food, but I have nothing. Really bad Chinese food which we will never, ever, ever get again. Save your money and buy the frozen Taipei Chinese food at the grocery store. It's a lot better. read more

The food is authentic - if you actually go inside, you'll see Chinese running the place (all of them). The food is fast, call in orders are usually ready in 10-15 minutes. Sure it's a small, family run business, not really for dine in, but it's perfect for take out. read more

Having been to china twice I can tell you this place is obviously American Chinese food but it's delicious so who cares. ATROCIOUS customer service! Placed an order through Doordash and upon delivery noticed they missed one meal. Called Top China to tell them about missing meal but they argued with me that I only ordered one of the meals not two. Spoke with "Tony" as we went through entire order line by line. There was a discrepancy between online menu and in-store menu totaling about $1.50; not an issue. After going line by line and realizing that my pre-tax total was basically (minus menu differences) the same pre-tax total as Top China's receipt. Tony then placed the blame on the tax. According to "Tony" they have a 12.5% tax. Still didn't explain why our pre-tax total was basically the same minus my missed meal. After much discussion with three different people and getting yelled at by what I assume is the owner, Top China refused to either make me the meal I paid for or give me a refund for that meal. Top China's customer service is heinous. I will never order from Top China in Smithfield, Virginia again...not to mention that according to them they charge a 12.5% tax on meals! Virginia tax on meals is 5.5%. I would give them zero stars if system allowed. read more
