The shrimp Egg Foo Young was Deelilicious tonight and the proportions so generous. The rice is always so moist & delicious. I also ordered some steamed dumplings. Everything so good with generous proportions. They work so hard to get my order out on time & yet the food is always so good & the proportions so generous. I always try to leave a tip whenever I can be cause they work so hard & cook great food & give you more than you money's worth. The pick up window is convenient & the ladies at the window are never impatient or rude no matter how inconvenient the customers requests or timing may be. I have tried other Chinese food restaurants lately just to be able to give a fair comparison & I have found Kim's to be the best in all areas: Quality & taste of food as well as generous proportions. Pricing is very affordable Hospitality - the people are always so nice & cheeful Convenience of pick up window There is a dining room inside as well if you prefer to stay and eat out. My search for the best Chinese Restaurant has ended. I will always go to Kim's Chines Restaurant on the corner of LaSalle Ave and She'll Road. read more

Took a bite of my fried rice and thought I was back home in St.Louis, If you know you know.......

First drive through restaurant I'd ever been to for Chinese. Pretty cool. Maybe I caught them on an off night but my food was not good. The flavor was good overall but the food had a bad smell to it. The staff at the drive through window was nice and pleasant though. read more

Well hello there! Anytime I'm here for work, I take a quick trip down to Kim's Chinese Food. The service is cool, the staff are always nice. I always order the teriyaki chicken and I order the large pork fried rice! Can you say bomb!! Yes it is! I don't usually dine in. I call in to place an order and pick up through the drive through. It saves time! The ambiance is a small home grown business but it's tasty! So I would say, if you're ever in town or simply a local, stop by Kim's and feed your belly with some good Asian cuisine! Until next time...Cheers! read more

I ordered here because I was craving Chinese food and finally found one that offered duck. I asked a friend who had a good eating experience so I thought why not for my family of 3. 1. We ordered fried cream cheese wontons, roast duck, orange chicken, sesame honey walnut shrimp, large veg chow mein, and kung pao chicken. 2. The wontons were burnt general consensus was nooooooo, roast duck had no flavor and was tough, the orange chicken had a weird aftertaste , the shrimp was less than ok just mayo sprinkled on but no real taste of the sauce, the chow mein also had a weird after taste and no one wanted to eat the kung pao chicken it was that bad. I'd like to add the steam rice was also blah not sure if it's the rice they use or what but my son who loves steamed rice also couldn't eat it. 3. Overall the food was awful and I would not recommend ordering here also our total came up to 107 definitely not worth the cost! read more

The food was awesome and the service was A1! I had General Tso chicken and shrimp fried rice!

Winter for the first time last week and ordered a combination meal with fried rice. The chicken was just okay the rice was burnt looking and did not have much of a taste. To be honest I was rather disappointed. The place was also rather dingy and needed a good cleaning. I doubt if I will go back. read more

I've come here for years and love it every single time I get it. I don't understand the other reviews because Ive never experienced them.

The hot and sour soup literally only contained mushrooms and bamboo shoots. No tofu, nothing. Never in my life have I seen such a skimp H n S soup. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS for a Chinese take out in an area like this. Average price of a dish was $14. Appetizers started at $7, including things like TWO lumpia for $7, ONE chicken teriyaki on a stick for $3, 3 beef teriyaki on a stick for $9, and so on. Chef specialties were $16-$25. Cheapest thing on the menu was the soup, and now I see why. $5 for egg water. I can only assume the meals are as skimp on ingredients as the soup.. I got the Mongolian beef as well, and an hour later I'm horribly sick, and am not able to keep any of this food down. Going to request a refund as soon as I regain my strength but I doubt they'll approve it. Horrible place. They might have been good back in the day, but it is no longer that way. Do not listen to any recommendations of it being the "best place in Hampton". It is not, and it is located next to one of the most violent and drug addled streets in the entire city (shell rd). No wonder I'm sick, there's no way this place isn't infested by roaches and rats, etc. I forgot to mention the quantity: literally 7 pieces of meat in the meal. No duck sauce even though that was asked for specifically, and most importantly, NO TASTE! Mongolian beef is supposed to be spicy. Not only was it not spicy, it literally lacked any flavor whatsoever. No exaggeration necessary. Do not waste your money here just because grandpa said it was good 10 years ago. So cheap they can't even splurge on the Asian spices needed to make this Chinese food Chinese. Disappointed isn't even the tip of the iceberg of my experience. read more

The best Chinese food ever. I have been going here since the 90s and I can't find any food better than theirs. I recommend getting the yock (it's only found in the 757) and their egg foo young (the gravy is the best part). read more

See all

I took a chance on this place and it surprised me tremendously. I get the sesame chicken w/ lo mien which never disappoints. The staff is friendly and wait times are low! read more

I've been going to this place since the late 80's back when it was in a different location. Shrimp Egg Foo Young... best around. I moved away to northern va for 20 years. It was my go to spot when I came home to visit. Just moved back to the area and introduced it to my husband...they did not disappoint! I have yet to find a Chinese food restaurant that I love as much as this place. Don't go there for ambience. Go for the food. The food has been consistent all of these years! read more

Omg this place is so good. I like the drive thru aspect because that's a lot easier and convenient than going inside a building. My meal came with fried rice & an egg roll. All pretty good for the price. read more

First and last time ordering from this restaurant. The egg foo young was so heavily salted it was inedible. The sauce was a heavy, brown gravy, and the egg foo young was hard and chewy. Threw it out. Egg drop soup was tasteless. And they forget to include the egg roll we ordered and paid for. New to the area and searching for good Chinese food. This wasn't it. read more

Really good service and a great amount of food for the cost. Very well priced and might be the best Chinese cuisine in the area.

Really love this place, I've been eating here for years. The drive thru for call in orders is very convenient. I literally drive all the way from Denbigh often times once a week to dine here. Friendly people, great portions for price!!!! read more

I live 2 minutes away and there are very few options for food. Growing up overseas I absolutely love Asian cuisine so I was excited to find a spot nearby. The decor wasn't fancy but you can't judge book by it's cover. Pretty hard to mess up fried rice and chicken wings but everything was really greasy and bland. I doubt I'll be giving it another try. read more

This little Chinese restaurant has a convenient drive thru window for pick-up orders and has pretty fresh and tasty food. Their fried rice is the best I've tasted and everything else I've eaten there has also been good. The dishes I order the most are shrimp fried rice, egg foo young, lo mien and fried chicken wings. I admit that the place is not much to look at. I would have never eaten here if it were not for my boyfriends love of their shrimp fried rice (with extra shrimp). read more

This place is terrible, I asked for a refund because the food looked and taste disgusting. Everything cold and overbooked. They didn't want to refund the money, but offered to make all three orders again. Why on earth would I want to order more food, when all three orders looked disgusting, not to mention you got an order wrong smh. 1 star is being too kind read more

I've been coming here for over 10 yrs. The food compares favorably with any Chinese restaurant. My rationale for the rating is the ambiance. I usually order the diet-conscious steamed chicken & broccoli. read more
