I was craving Chinese takeout and Shun Xing happened to be the closest spot to me open till 10pm on a Sunday. I ordered a General Tso combination plate made extra crispy and extra spicy -- does not come with broccoli. It came with regular fried rice and an egg roll and let me tell you.. they made everything right! My husband got a quart of pork fried rice which came in the iconic Chinese takeout box, and we also ordered extra egg rolls (4) and sugar donuts to share. The only downside to Chinese takeout is how oily the food can get but that's to be expected. The food was still enjoyable and I'm not sure if it's because we live close by but everything was fresh, steaming hot and crisped to perfection. It is really a toss up when you order food from here, You will get the best Chinese food that you've ever eaten in your life and then you will get the worst but if you complain you will be called a liar.. and get told how they have been serving for 17 years and it's completely the same and nobody else has complained.. I am very big on customer service in regardless when a customer complains you should do whatever to ensure their happiness offer a replacement or simply just apologize. I will never give my money to this company ever again I don't care I will go hungry before I ever put another dollar in their pocket the rudest Chinese place that I have ever been to and honestly you can't even walk out of there feeding two people without spending anywhere from 50-60 which wouldn't even be an issue but if something is not up to par they will do nothing to correct it.. not to mention that if you walk in the place you can already tell that cleanliness is not next to godliness there.. read more

Nice mom and pop place. Good service, good food. I usually order the boneless spare ribs combination plate. Good deal with the most protein.

The fried chicken wings were too golden brown, maybe they use too much sesame oil but it's not regular cooking oil. The fried rice and Lo mein was too salty. The hot & sour soup was not sour at all and didn't taste like any other I've had in the past. Also, I was expecting some type of dipping sauce for the chicken wings but none. The service could've been better, I got the "what do you want" vibe from the lady who took my order. This take out is located near Langley AFB. This restaurant just opened (well, a few months ago) in a new shopping center right near my work, so I thought I would give it a try, and I stopped out for lunch today. Adequate. I think that sums the place up. It's essentially every other Chinese place you've been do, with a small helping of blandness on the side. The food is adequately good. The place is adequately nice and adequately clean. What can you say about the staff in a take-out chinese place? No one punched me in the face, so I would say the service was adequately friendly. The menu was essentially the same menu you've seen at your take-out chinese place; there were about 30 $5 lunch specials with white or fried rice and soup or soda. The only somewhat different entries were cashew chicken and curry chicken or beef. I had the curry chicken with egg drop soup . . . they were adequate. The food was out very quickly, though! The inside of the restaurant was bright and clean, with a few booths to sit at, if you want to dine it. Anyway, the verdict is: I wouldn't go out of my way for Shun Xing. There's a Shun Xing on every street corner with a slightly different name. But, if you're in that neck of the woods and looking for lo-mein, this place is . . . . yep, adequate. read more

Ordered lunch special beef w broccoli and general chicken and I got literally 4 pieces of beef with 30 pieces of broccoli and they didn't offer me any egg roll soda or soup and let me walk out without so I call back up there and the lady tells me "you didn't say you wanted either" if I'm paying my money for it idc you didn't mention any of those just terrible overall wouldn't recommend read more

This is definitely one of the better Chinese take out places I've been to. I'm actually one of those people who has to be in the "mood" for Chinese food (weird I know) but when I am in one, I don't want something that's extremely greasy that feels heavy on my stomach. This place is great for having lighter dishes but still full of flavor. I typically order the chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice and it comes with an egg roll. It's a very generous serving and it is always served extremely fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly and they make sure to get your orders made quickly! You get what you pay for. $5 for lunch. I thought the ratings on here were very very generous. I got the general tsos chicken. Usually restaurants, they order in fried and frozen chicken, fry again to heat up then toss in sauce and it's always mediocre. The "breading" on the extremely overcooked and stringy chicken was like chewing dry granola, rice was also hard. Only thing I liked about it was that those red hot peppers were cut up and mixed in the sauce so it had a bit of a kick. Cheap enough to try once, maybe some of other items are better. Love this place!! I go to the location in Hampton off of Commander Shepard Blvd. Have been going since it first opened. Over many visits there I have had the fried rice, chow fun, egg foo young, chow mein, the egg rolls all being very delicious! There have been many other dishes I have had, this is only to name a few. I have been going to this restaurant for years. They have obviously cut corners. Customer service is horrible! I ordered pepper steak with peppers and onions ~ cheese wontons ~ butterfly shrimp ~ shrimp and veggies. Got back home and the cheese wontons had black inside. Butterfly shrimp hard as a rock and burnt. I tried to return them and they returned one dollar. Plus took the food. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!HORRIBLE!!!!! ONE STAR IS A compliment!!!!! read more
