Ordered dinner at Great Wall on King St. the other night. Usually this is my favorite spot for Chinese but thel other night I just don't know. I ordered Chicken Teriyaki with shrimp fried rice and a shrimp roll and the exact same for my child. The chicken teriyaki (you get 4 sticks) were red which I don't recall them doing that before. I think it's that same red die coloring for the pork that Chinese people use which I can't stand. Well anyways food was great. About an hour later my stomach had turned upside down. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area! Everything my husband and I have tried off of the menu has been delicious! The fried dumplings are hands down both our favorite dish. They're meat packed and have amazing flavor to them. We typically order general tsos chicken, sesame chicken, boneless spare ribs, and any of the sweet and sour dishes. All come in huge portions with large amounts of meat. The egg rolls are large and very tasty. They use the same pork that comes with the boneless spare ribs in the egg rolls and shred that with veggies. If you order something with vegetables you won't get as much protein, so we tend to stay with our usual veggieless dishes. The fried rice is okay, but it normally needs some soy sauce. I'd recommend ordering a combination plate because they come with fried rice, an egg roll, and a canned soda. The lunch menu value is great because it's $4.95 for regular portions that come with fried rice and soup. Delivery is always on time or early. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Hot and Sour Soup was just that, soup with maybe 1/4 cup of other ingredients. Fried rice was so so BUT the General TSO's Chicken was way less than crispy and the meat itself was dark stringy mystery meat. Sorry, but I wont be back. We ordered the family meal. You get to pick four things off of the menu. It only comes with fried rice! No egg rolls or anything. I was very surprised at that... I was hoping that at least the food would be great. It wasn't. The food was fresh, made in a decent time, but it wasn't anything special. I eat Chinese food pretty regularly and this food ranks at the bottom of the restaurants I go to. I wouldn't go back here. We order from here often. We always get the family special which includes 4 entrees and 2 pints of rice which comes to $25 w/tax, extra for fried rice. Delivery is always fast and they have never messed up our order once (knock on wood). This has been my go to chinese food place since I moved to Hampton. It's close to the base so I can grab something at lunch. They have amazing lunch specials where you can get food and a drink for around $5 with tax. Their portion sizes are great, and the food is 9 out of 10 times really good. This is take out food. It's not fine dining. I have received great delivery and everything has always been fresh but we tend to get things that probably are hard to mess up. The hot and sour soup is very good and the egg rolls aren't sweet or pink inside which I appreciate. I gave 4 stars as not once have they messed up a delivery order and the fact they actually deliver quickly is great too. I've been ordering from Great Wall for almost a year now, their food tastes the closes to the Chinese I get back home, while I'm in school down here...deelish. BUT, at some point last year a friend of mine received her order with a dead bug cooked into it, when school started this year we decided to give it another try and our second time ordering this school year was received with yet another bug in it.
