After my trip to California last spring, I was DYING for some Taiwanese Shaved Ice in my neck of…read morethe woods. I sent out a Yelp plea and every response was the same: You have to cross the border to Murrland to get what you want. Even though the border is less than 45 minutes away, driving cross-state seemed pretty daunting so I pretty much gave up my search and filled the hole in my heart with other icy treats more readily available in NoVa such as bing soo or halo halo. One unsuspecting day, I attended the Fairfax Fall Festival and was pleased to see the logo of a little bird taunting me to try some Taiwanese shaved ice. Could it be?! YES SIR! I rushed over to the stand, leaving my sister, her baby, and my little brothers behind in my dust to get some sweet, cold icy refreshment in my belly. $5 got me a small bowl of freshly shaved ice topped with condensed milk, fresh fruit and homemade lemon jelly. My little brothers eventually caught up with me to ask me to purchase them some bubble tea as well. The result? Refreshingly good! But I could not help but feel a little bit cheated since at Bob's Noodle you can get a small mountain of shaved ice to feed six people for the same price and my shaved ice bowl was barely enough to satisfy my hunger craving. However, they totally saved me a trip to Maryland so maybe the price was worth it. You can check out Bing Bing in the warmer months every every Saturday and Sunday at the Fairfax Community Farmer's Market and on Wednesdays at the Clarendon Metro Stop.

I was very impressed with their extensive menu and offerings. I had the Italian cold cut sandwich, blackberry lemonade, and salted caramel brownie. The sandwich was a 10. There's an art to how to make a sandwich, how it's layered and put together, the staff here know what they are doing. It was the perfect size, and tasted amazing. The blackberry lemonade was perfect. Not many places offer a blackberry option, so that get extra points. The salted Carmel brownie was inhaled...so yea it was awesome as well . The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave me enough time to select my lunch. Thanks for the excellent experience today.

The staff are genuinely some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered at a coffee shop -- they remember your name, your order, and somehow always make you feel like the most important person in the room. The coffee? Next level. Whether you're a straight-black-espresso purist or someone who loves a beautifully crafted latte with stunning latte art, De Clue delivers every single time. The beans are clearly sourced with care, and you can taste the quality in every sip. My go-to has become their seasonal special, and I look forward to it every single visit. The space itself is absolutely charming -- perfect for catching up with a friend, grinding through some work, or just enjoying a quiet moment to yourself. It has this rare quality of feeling both lively and relaxed at the same time. De Clue Coffee isn't just a coffee shop -- it's a community. It's the kind of place that makes living in Fairfax feel extra special. Don't walk, RUN to De Clue. You will not regret it!

Just be nice to the people behind the counter…read more For some reason people that go to lunch here are rude to the people behind the counter and this must stop. I was there to pick up a sandwich for lunch and witnessed very entitled customers treat the staff disrespectfully. Unacceptable. These men and women wake up early and are there everyday with a smile and a positive attitude and people walk into their business and speak down to them. No. Not on my watch. If you eat here, order from here or ask anything of the people tha work here- they deserve respect. The food is great. The tuna, is real, and the sandwiches are hearty. They have a little dining room and lots to choose from and the workers behind the counter deserve your respect and support.

Truthfully, there aren't too many bagel places left out there anymore in the…read moreNoVA area and the ones that are still out there, only about 10% of them are decent, serving authentic, quality bagels and bagel sandwiches. THIS PLACE IS ONE OF THOSE TOP 10%-ers! * Conveniently located (even though I hateeeee that little gummed-up stretch of Main Streer in Fairfax!!) but the shop is on the little side strip out of the fray of the main retailers Ace Hardware and TJ Maxx. Lot parking is abundant for a quick in and out if you're grabbing to go. * SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF and FAST, EFFICIENT SERVICE - I went in around 9AM on a Sat - no long line - walked right up to the counter and ordered - sat at a table and my order was called about 10 minutes later. * It was bfast time and I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sando $8 on a lightly toasted ET bagel - delicious and they didn't skimp on any of the ingredients! The bagel was big, hearty and chewy. A perfect breakfast to go. * PRICES ARE VERY FAIR and I felt I got good value for what I paid. $13 basically for a bfast sando and a bottle of juice (drinks are always a rip-off - $3.50, half the cost of my sando but it is what it is...) * The inside of the restaurant itself is sorta small and cramped - as you walk in, the left side is the ordering side, the right side is the seating area with a good amount of tables and chairs - most importantly, they keep the place neat and clean which is a big deal to me. It's a little dark and drab in ambiance/decor and I could see it getting a bit chaotic if the place fills up and with long lines at the counter. On nice weather days, there are some outside tables. I don't come to this area of Fairfax all that often - just happened to be in the area that morning and literally searched for a bagel place on Yelp and hardly any came up. Fortunately I happened to be close by. When I'm in the area again AND happen to be hankerin' for a bagel sandwich, I'll most definitely come back here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS INDIE BAGEL SHOP IN DOWNTOWN FAIRFAX!

They are very detailed and beautiful pieces, definitely on the pricier side but I think of it as a novelty/special occasion item. All of them were delicious but my favorite had to be the raspberry pastry. It was perfectly sweet and well balanced the mango and vanilla were a close second.

Now, they seem to be producing desserts continuously to keep up with demand. The location appears to be in a former McDonald's building, which gives you a sense of the space, it's fairly large. There are a variety of seating options, and it looks like they've added a new outdoor patio as well. There's a small self-service area for some treats, but most items are ordered from behind the counter. We arrived around 8 PM, and it was busy. We waited about 15 minutes to place our order and another 15 minutes to receive our drinks and desserts. We tried the Yuzu & Limoncello, Rocher, and Café Au Lait desserts (each around $9.40), along with a tiramisu latte ($6.40). Everything was delicious--creamy, well-balanced, and full of flavor. Prices are on the higher side. The cashier was friendly, though it seemed like they might have been understaffed. That said, the team handled the crowd well. Overall, it's a nice spot to check out if you're already in the area, but not somewhere we'd go out of our way to visit.
