Certain nights like Thursday, come early as it does get busy. This is my second time coming on a Thursday which we know to come earlier. The first visit, there was a line to get in and from there, a massive line trying to get a drink at the bar. So come early to avoid that. We just wanted to lounge for a bit and grab a drink after dinner. Showed up just after 8:30 which is still early but very easy when we arrived. There was already a good amount of people inside when we walked in. The nice thing, you're able to walk up to the bar and grab a drink pretty fast. It's cash only so be prepared. Inside isn't that big, where the dj booth is. I don't even think it's a dance floor but it could potentially be. They have two bars on either side. But the patio area is where the party happens. It's massive with a good amount of hi top tables with chairs. Also nice to have the fans and mister going in with the heat that's starting to greet us in the desert. Within us arriving, half an hour or so, the place was pretty busy. The line did start to form at the bar which we now are aware. They have different event held different nights during the week. Some are busier than others. I've been with friends where give or take there was a dozen or so of people. Different night have different crowds depending on the events. Of all the times I've been, it's alway been fun. They should have a bar on the patio which will make a huge difference. read more

I stopped by Tool Shed while in Palm Springs and honestly, it ended up being one of the most unexpectedly fun nights of the trip. The vibe is super laid-back but still has that classic Palm Springs energy where everyone just seems genuinely happy to be there. It's one of those places where you can show up not knowing what to expect and somehow end up staying way longer than planned. The crowd felt really welcoming, not cliquey at all, which I always appreciate because it makes it easy to relax and actually enjoy yourself. What stood out to me most was how unpretentious everything felt. The bartenders were friendly and quick without making you feel rushed, and the drinks were solid and reasonably priced for the area. There's a nice mix of people, from locals who clearly love the place to visitors just passing through, and it all blends together in a way that feels effortless. The music hit that perfect balance where it keeps the energy up without being overwhelming, so you can still talk and laugh without yelling over it. In all my years of visiting PS, I have never been here before (until now). Relatively low key around 5ish early evening, it was quiet with a few patrons, which is just what the Dr ordered. Happy hour until 8pm, ordered a couple of Tito's cocktails at a normal price of 9 bucks back home, these were doubles which was a pretty good deal (think 4.50/single). Bartenders were friendly enough for this town. Plenty of tables available inside with a large patio outside (probably for their famous Sun beer bust I hear) we opted to stay inside as I did not want to be anywhere near cig smoke. Appeared to be plenty of street parking with what looked like a smallish parking lot on the side of the bldg, we walked over from our hotel which was about 3/4 a mile away. "Where Men Who Like Men Gather," as they say at the T Shed. Located off Sunny Dunes Rd (not Arenas Rd if you can believe it) across from a local art gallery, the latest John Cerney Murals the "Neighbors," and neighbor to place like Q Trading, Gear Leather and more this 32 year old+ bar born in 1993 as the original levi and leather bar in Palm Springs. It's evolved a lot hosting a variety of events each week as well as every month and become the host destination for a lot of major event weekends such as Palm Springs Leather Pride, Black Fire: Cigar Social Weekend, and numerous others. Everyone is plenty friendly or at the very least personable like the amazing staff here and their brand ambassadors/titleholders like the current Mr. ToolShed 2025 Erick who welcomed all over the weekend and wished us safe travels home. I've been to some many events over the years when I'm up in the Coachella Valley at TS including Tunes on Tuesday Bingo with a cameo via Barry Manilow, Thursday Underwear night #BeatTheHeat, Sunday Beer Bust, Singlet Saturday, Cigar events typically brought to you by Maximus, and Bluf, leather formal and uniform gear nights. GAY-M-SHOW Night Wednesday, and several of their events I hope to catch at some point for sure, but even when there's nothing kicking off right away, coming to sit inside or out, enjoy the crowd, the great music, history and ToolShed energy is pretty great. It is a cash only bar, but they do have an atm. Restrooms in the far left hall just before the patio, one with a lockable door that is for all genders. The main restroom is strictly trough style with a huge industrial style sink and powerful hand dryer. Smoking is permitted on the patio, cigars as well as cigarettes usually gravitate towards the back and on the outskirts. Plenty of tables, chairs, patio furniture and ledges to relax on, great lighting at night with cool fans and misters that get a lot of use in the summertime. Parking in front, in back or in the side lot as well as throughout the neighborhood. Rideshare is always easy here (coming or going). No food is served here with the exception of chips for purchase. There's a food truck that's open just about daily to my knowledge in the back that serves a variety of comfort food (think tacos, tots, etc). Can't say enough good things about this place. Always manage to see a handful of locals, but also another handful of people from back home. All are welcome here, but it's a bar so you need to be at least 21+. read more

I realize smoking cigars is a key part of the culture/experience for a lot of patrons, but I find it insufferable, especially because the roof above the outdoor biergarten locks in the smoke. I went to beer bust around 6 o'clock. I took a chair at the bar. I waited about 20 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me or ask me if I wanted a drink. I finally had to get his attention as he looked to the line right very next to me. He & others were so preoccupied with the two lines he had to deal with he never addressed anybody at the bar, if they needed another drink or anything else? I was having a nice time after that with friends, chatting with my friends, Tim being one. As I was saying goodbye to Tim, who was talking to the security guard, I grabbed his nipple and his endowment playfully. The security guard, yes the security whom I will Queen Victoria chided me if I had gotten consent to do that. My head was about to explode in this age of political correctness. Instead of asking Tim if it was OK (his body language was accepting and relaxed). This security guard asked a paying customer if they had asked for consent. Look we're all adults and no means no but seriously do we need these idiots telling Us. I'm sure there's more to it...the security guard was probably jealous and wants to score points with my friend as his 'protector.' Never take things personally. Fire this imbecile, Queen Victoria. Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience I was shocked at how my group was treated at this establishment. We visited with a mixed-gender group, and from the moment we arrived, the bartender was rude and unwelcoming. Eventually, we were told outright that we "don't belong" and were kicked out simply because half of our group consisted of women. There was no prior indication that this bar enforces exclusionary policies based on gender. A space that claims to be inclusive should not be hostile toward guests who are simply there to enjoy themselves and support the community. Regardless of the type of bar, no one deserves to be treated with open hostility and disrespect. If you're looking for a welcoming atmosphere, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

Amazing patio - professionally designed and constructed. I've seen many bars across the country where the patio is an old piece of parking lot and maybe a piece of canvas or lattice from a home improvement store. Staff is great - they sling the drinks quickly and keep things moving as best they can when the place is packed. BUT - remember it's cash-only (signs are up about that) and there are 2 ATMs. They usually will make your drink while you hit the ATM. Like every bartender I've ever known - they are friendly unless provoked. The guys here are very tolerant (I've seen some really rude people in there who didn't get an earful when they probably should have) The place is kept clean - I've seen them take down every bottle and wipe them down and clean the shelves weekly ans clean the guns, taps, etc. The owner is a little OCD about cleaning and a couple of the staff are too. The bathroom - they do their best - it gets cleaned. BUT there is someone or someones who intentionally wet the floor - it's not a mistake. So then the staff go and clean that up again and again. There's no excuse. Sigh There are theme nights - massage, BINGO, gear, underwear contest, etc. And they sometimes swap out a theme. The crowd tends to shift around 8pm. Very attractive guy. He wore shorts. I ordered two palomas ($16). Drinks were good. Smooth and refreshing. Bartender recommend their new best selling drink. Its a drink with hypnotic ($10). It felt more expensive, because it came in a glass cup. I didn't like it though. It was strong, but tasted too sweet. The bar is cash only. There is an atm available. The bar decorations were very raunchy. Another thing I liked. Naked men and the tv had a photo gallery showing naked men. The music playing in the background was like 70s/80s.
