Dr. Tony Pacheco and the staff were excellent. What makes me worried is that I have to go back to Los Angeles, where I only hoped to have the same amount of care given to me in Austin. I came to Austin from LA due to COVID and other reasons, so I had my x-rays and treatment plan sent down to Dr. Pacheco's office. Once it arrived, the staff's coordination was seamless, and they got me in the next week due to a cancellation (schedule early as I know why people wait to see him!). Pros: - Dedicated parking for the bldg - Easy to find - Greeted quickly - Didn't wait long after the appointment - Staff's personality + warmth - Dr. Pacheco's professionalism - EXTREMELY detailed - High-tech equipment - Office space Cons: - They don't have an office in LA! Dr. Pacheco was recommended to me by a personal friend; I'm glad he did. Not only did he go over my scans and treatment plan, but he suggested that I didn't even need it. He used various ways to ensure what was going on. Ultimately, I didn't need two procedures my LA office said that I needed. Not only did it save financially, but my time and potentially the life of my teeth. I wish that the honesty, professionalism, and operations can be replicated to every facility across the nation. Where to begin? I have been a patient of Dr. Pacheco for 11 years, and cannot remember a time where I did not walk out smiling or laughing! The environment is welcoming, friendly and the staff is superb! Brenda, Andrea, Tiffany, Stephanie are just a few of the people that I adore in his office. Dr. Pacheco is magical. He is intelligent, funny and has a state of the art practice. I recently had braces put on at the crazy age of 48. He had his staff coordinate my ortho appointments so I could get my teeth cleaned in between bracket changes. I had a weird nerve sensation that was super painful in my mouth after a bracket/chain change and he got me in instantly, reviewed the issue and gave me what I needed to feel better. Considering he is a successful and busy practice, he will NEVER leave a patient hanging. From my 84 year old father to my assistant, to my husband, etc.; we feel special and like family. Bottom line, if you dislike the dentist like I used to, Dr. Pacheco and his team will turn that around in one visit! Can't say enough about all of them. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying that because I have terrible habits, I hate going to the dentist. It's always a painful and expensive ordeal for me. All that said, Tony is AMAZING. I've been a patient for over a year, and had multiple treatments, including a root canal. Tony is exceptionally patient and accommodating. He always explains my options thoroughly and checks to make sure I'm comfortable before starting any procedures. I feel like he truly cares about my oral health and doesn't recommend anything that is not absolutely necessary. The office staff and hygienists are equally amazing and the office runs very smoothly thanks to Miss Andrea. I will continue to get my dental care from Tony as long as I'm in the Austin area. Gramma discovered Groupon.... (uh oh). She got me a ticket for a flashy dentist a few minutes from home, so I tried it - mostly just for the cleaning. I'll be the first to admit, I'm absolutely terrible about going for checkups. I brush, floss, and figure tat's enough. Plus, Tony's office is way up on the opposite end of town, and there was always something popping up that took precedence. I couldn't really work out that excuse with the Groupon guy just a few minutes away, so I caved. He and his staff were very nice, but he said I needed (are you sitting down?) something like $7,600 worth of work. What the what?! I just went in for a cleaning! I didn't even have a toothache! I also don't have insurance, and that was just not going to happen. It felt like a scare-tactics upsell all the way, so I called Tony immediately to get a second opinion. I did end up needing a bit of work, but the cost was not even in the ballpark of what the new guy was talking about. In short, a tiny spot (which would have been cut off at the pass had I gone in for regular checkups) ended up going way deep and prompting a lot of work. It's my own fault, but Tony and his staff are just ridiculously nice, easy and helpful. He is the most trustworthy, reasonable service provider of any kind that I've found in Austin, and he's just an exceptionally skilled dentist. There's just no reason to go anywhere else. read more

I'm intensely picky about dentists because I had a dentist intentionally lay ruin to two of my teeth some years ago in a terrible attempt to make money (see Dr Benjamin Relis, dirtiest dentist of all time in Pittsburgh, PA). So while I am not an expert in dentistry, I am an expert in not getting screwed over and finding a dentist you can trust, and i can assure you, you can totally trust Tony. Going to this office is about as easy as the dentist can be. The whole place is very efficient. They get you in and out of the office quickly, but don't make you feel rushed, and you get a personal TV while they're working on your teef. When you're done with a cleaning, Dr Pacheco comes to see you quickly, its not like most offices where you have to wait through an entire feature-length film before you see the actual dentist. Everyone there is genuinely friendly and personable. They also don't upsell you, at all, like SO many dentists do (even if they aren't blatantly shady). In fact, the last time I was there i was thinking I wanted a whitening and then just forgot about it! Five solid stars. read more

I've been seeing Tony for 4 years. He's a friendly competent dentist. His staff are friendly and dependable. Dental hygienists have low turnover. I've seen the same one the whole time I've been a patient. Office decor is very unconventional with a Texas-themed waiting room and funky partitions vs. rooms. Only two chairs, so you don't feel like your in a "factory." TVs with headphones are available at each chair. The office is not on my insurance, but will file for me. I've had many procedures done and I'm always satisfied with the job. I'm not scared of dentists anymore. I've had really, really bad dentists - one guy told me I had cavities in all four quadrants of my mouth when it turned out I had NONE, he just wanted to bill me and wreck my teeth for the money, never mind the pain! - so for me to trust a dentist is huge. Dr. Pacheco is terrific. He's calm, kind, funny, and very professional. I have some fillings back from the stone age; he checks them every time, and every time he says, nope, they're fine, no need to change them out. He takes his time with you, remembers you from your last visit, and basically is everything you could want in a dentist and then some. His staff is equally awesome. I've been seeing the same hygenist for several years now and she's a doll. She's always pleased for me that my teeth look good (unlike my last place, where they were actually gleeful when they found a problem - WTF up with that??) - and she cleans my teeth as quickly as she can while still making sure they squeeeeeeek when I leave. Mmmmmm that minty freshness! The front office staff is super friendly too, and they got them a fancy cappuccino maker which I've never gotten to try because they've never kept me waiting more than 2 minutes, literally. They're not technically on my insurance, but they always file for me, and I think I end up paying another $25. Good deal. The location is fine if you think the Arboretum-ish area is fine. Parking is a breeze. If you're facing the two buildings, they're in the one to the right. read more

I've never had any major problems with my teeth (knock on wood) but I've had a great experience with him on all the standard cleaning/evaluation/x-rays. His office also fit me in during off hours once because I was in pain and needed a referral to a specialist. which I GREATLY appreciated. read more

Let me be really clear about this: I HATE going to the dentist. It is the single most stressful thing in my life that I can think about. I have had some miserable experiences in my time in the chair and it causes me stress and anxiety even thinking about setting up an appointment. BUT, when I started to see Dr. Pacheco and his awesome staff...I felt immediately more relaxed. He did a fantastic job on my teeth, starting with a thorough review, put a plan together, executed the plan and I cleared all issues. Everyone there contributes to this rating, from Allie who does everything from manage the schedule to tech work, to Dr. Pacheco, who is just such a solid, good guy on top of the latest techniques. I've been going to Dr Pacheco for almost 15 years. I was never a fan of going to the dentist, routine or otherwise. I had several bad experiences with dentists in the past. Dr Pacheo didn't make me feel ridiculous about my hesitation due to previous bad experiences. He treated me with kid gloves (and didn't make me feel ridiculous) until I realized it can be a great experience. I haven't missed a cleaning (2x a year) since I started seeing him. My husband and mom also go to him. She drives up from Lockhart just to see him. He and his staff go above and beyond. I will start off with the best....I went in with already having a bad experience form the last two dentists. I was treated well and Dr. Pacheco educated me on what was needed to do and the planning started. I just got my upper veneers redone by Dr. Pacheco and they came out so awesome. I totally recommended anyone even for just cleanings and the basics to veneers to use Dr. Pacheco's dental team. I feel great after getting them installed on Thursday and today is Friday. I've been going to Tony for the last 15 years. I never thought to use yelp for dentists or i would have reviewed much sooner. Like i said, i've been seeing Tony since I was in high school and have had nothing but great experiences. I moved to Houston 3 years ago and still make a trip once a year to Austin to see Tony. After going through a couple of other dentists in Houston it's just not the same. Unlike other dentists, Tony doesn't recommend fluff treatments or things that you don't need just so he can bill your insurance company or you and make more money. if you don't need something done or can wait, he'll tell you and be honest. that goes a long way. I've recommended him to countless friends. The staff is awesome too. He's had a lot of the same team for years. Everyone is happy to be there and it's a cool, modern setting. read more

He's very professional yet casual, quick but totally thorough, explains dental needs but doesn't freak you out, relaxed but skillful, takes time to answer all questions. I love to make caramel. You know what happened... so I called the dental office I had been a patient of for a few years to have the gold onlay recemented, and found the practice had been sold. When I met the practice purchaser, he didn't inspire confidence. You want to go along just to get the situation resolved. But I mulled it a few days and then dove into Yelp for reviews and decided to take action. Dr. Pacheco has such great reviews and it was great to find they are well founded. He has an intraoral camera. This is an impressive dental office tool and I'm sure it's very expensive. I take it as an important sign that he invested in that equipment. Using it he explained and *showed* me what was going on with my tooth and what my options were. He was direct and relaxed and I felt I was getting real information in a cheery environment. He was able to drill out the weird cement that had been applied by the other practice and showed me there was no reason not to recement my gold onlay, with the understanding that such a setup will likely need to be reworked in time. I had a good experience and appreciate the care I received at Dr. Pacheco's dental practice. And now when I have an urge to make caramel, I go for a run instead. read more

What do you mean - I can't give them ten stars?? Tony is a wonderful dentist, and he and his staff manage to make dental visits a positive pleasure. I've been a patient of his for about eight years, and can't speak too highly of him. He is incredibly patient with this skittish patient, who is hard to "numb up" and whose dental problems never seem to be simple. He seems to really care about everything he does, and when major work may be needed, he will carefully set out the different treatment options and their potential risks and benefits. And I've never once felt that he was pushing any particular option for financial reasons - there is no hard sell whatsoever (unlike some other dentists I've encountered). Not to mention that Tony's staff are always cheerful, kind and responsive. My husband has recently started seeing Tony, and is also now a fully-signed up member of the Pacheco fan club.
