I needed 2, 50'+ trees removed from my front yard and the stumps ground. I was able to get it scheduled the next week and 10% off for being a new customer; their prices are already reasonable without the discount. They showed up on time, wore their PPE, and cleaned up the mess afterward. I am very happy with the service. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Tony Gomez Tree Service. While they were trimming trees at my in-laws' house, one of their workers backed a wood chipper directly into my parked car. There were approximately 4-5 workers on site, yet no one was acting as a spotter while they were backing up. The most concerning part was that they didn't even realize they had hit my car. My father-in-law had to yell for them to stop before they caused even more damage. To make matters worse, I'm currently pregnant and was staying with my in-laws because my family had been evacuated due to the fire. The last thing we needed during such a stressful time was to deal with unnecessary vehicle damage. Accidents can happen, but basic safety precautions, like using a spotter when backing up heavy equipment and paying attention afterward are essential. I hope they take this as a wake-up call to improve their safety practices and driving standards so this doesn't happen to someone else. I notice there are a lot of complaints about their driving specially. read more

Gabriel, Agustín, Francisco worked on my property. There were some fragile plants next to the trees that were going to be cut, they kept the plants safe. They arrived on time, were polite, and cleaned up after they left. If you see where the trees used to be, you would never think there were trees there. I recommend them. read more

I live in a mobile home park so I don't have control over which service is used. This company is the most disrespectful and uncaring of my personal property. I have requested a little notice of when they will be here so that I can move my potted plants and yard decor/furniture out of the way. Each year they show up unannounced and start trimming a pine tree that is over my property. This year was the worst. Broken pots, broken cactus and succulents (some are rare species), yard decor thrown all over. It's not just lost money, it's my time and energy spent to beautify my home. I no longer feel it is a home. I don't even want to go outside. I've contacted them in the past and they don't even have the respect of returning my calls. read more

Best tree service out of all the ones I called. I had a huge tree fall down in my yard. Original quotes were over 10k and 2-3 days. Best quote was less than 10 but leave the wood. Tony gave me an estimate of 2-3 days but much less than everyone else and he would take care of the mess. Kind of a no brainer being on a tight budget and time constraint. Tony not only cleared the tree, they cleared the adjacent tree that got obliterated when it fell, hauled away the debris, ground the stump and did it all in one day!!! I couldn't be happier with my experience. I originally went with them being in a tight spot financially and they were the best deal but they were the best in literally every way. I'll be using Tony for any tree issues from now on, great company! read more

My neighbors are getting service from Tony Gomez Tree Service & Landscape Management this morning. They're in their driveway chipping away at the tree they've cut down and they didn't even bother to come over to ask me to move my brand new car away from where they are working. My car is filthy and covered in dust and wood chips, so is my driveway and the street in front of my home. I called the number on the truck to speak with someone and spoke to a women who wasn't very helpful. She asked me if I spoke to the crew...why would I go over there while they're actively using heavy machinery to chip wood, and using chainsaws? The crew is covered from head to toe in protective gear, do you think I'm going over in my sweats and slippers? Sure, that seems smart and safe, I'll walk right over and talk to them now. Anyway, she called me back and laughed at my concerns which I found to be rude and obnoxious. As a new homeowner who needs to get landscaping work and tree trimming done, I'll never use this service or recommend it to anyone. They made a great lasting impression with their lack of concern and customer service, they should care more about how their affecting the neighbors and area of the clients they're servicing. read more

We hired Tony Gomez Tree Service to cut down 3 intertwined huge trees today. The trees were located in a difficult, hard to get to area and they did a great job. They cut with precision, took all the rubbish and ground the branches. They completed the job in one day and their price was quite reasonable. They showed proof of liability and workers comp insurance and left the area cleaner than they found. We are very, very pleased in Chula Vista. We are so pleased, we are hiring them for more work. read more

Unsafe operation/no precautions taken? Driving along Caroll Canyon Road by the Gold Coast Apartments and a Eucalyptus tree limb cut by a crew in the crane bucket falls to the lane in front of me. They've got safety cones front and aft of the truck and crane rig but no cones to block the lane where cut tree limbs may fall or maybe the spotter was too distracted watch out for and divert traffic around the area. read more

STOP! Do not hire Tony Gomez Tree Service for anything! Tony Gomez Tree Service was hired by my neighbor to remove a tree between our properties. We went half and half on the cost, but Tony Gomez did not complete the job and left a mess on my side. The yard was accessible to them but it almost looks like they threw debris into the yard to not clean it on his side. Don't support this business read more

This place is a joke! Less than one star service. Cheap prices sure, and it is obvious why that is. Tony's crew is a joke. I had to call these guys five or six times to come complete the job. They showed up over six hours late to start, didn't finish and said they will be back the following day. They came back over a week later after I complained. I had to call these guys over a period of two months to complete this job. I ended up putting an add on CraigsList to remove all the wood from my yard cause I was sick of waiting on an incompetent, unprofessional tree service. They destroyed my front yard and didn't even completely remove the stump. They left tree limbs on my roof and broke flowerpots in my yard. These guys should NOT be in business. Javier is an artist up in the tree - 5 stars to him The crew broke 6 fruit trees, my fountain, and smashed the roses. No precaution was taken to prevent this. What a wonderful service. From my first call with Cindy, to the crew showing up on time. Let me start out by saying that I understand everyone else's terrible reviews as I've had one-star experiences with places that have only five-star ratings ... we all have different experiences, and I certainly have with Tony Gomez. We worked with Tony Gomez in 2001 or so to remove a huge-trunked, terribly-placed palm tree. They did a fine job and their prices were reasonable. For the past two years, one of our neighbors has coordinated them to trim about 100 palm trees here in Kensington since the City isn't doing it any more. They gave an excellent quantity discount, making it more affordable than you can imagine. They did a great job with their boom truck, cleaned up their mess, and their crews were very, very nice. read more

This company ignores San Diego noise ordinances, beginning work well before 8 am and disturbing the neighborhood. Furthermore the crew was trimming a tree over a parking area but there aren't any notices or signage for car owners. Bad practices, bad neighbor. read more

I only give one star because someone answered the phone to book my appointment. I made an appointment for tree service and called at 8:30 am on the day of the service and was assured they would call the trimmers in the field to find when they would be at the house to perform service and I never received a call back. Made a second call to get the confirmation of trimmers arrival and was told 12:00pm, which came and went without a call so I called at 3:10 pm since there was still no call and no trimmers and no one answered the phone. I left a message to express my disappointment since Tony's was recommended. I left a message with my cancelation of appointment and will NEVER use this trimming service for my needs. read more

They can really trim a tree, but they trashed my plants underneath, scraped my stucco and fence taking cuttings out. Not worth it.

Perhaps they have earned the good reviews they've received but after contacting them 3 times since August 1 with no one setting an appointment to give an estimate, I think I'll skip trying to use this company. Guess I'll never know if they were good or not. That is NOT how you should run your business. Call people back for chrissake! read more

Made an appt for an estimate at 3:30. At 1:00 someone called and wanted to come then, 2-1/2 hours early because they were in our area. When we said that was not an option because we were both still working, the person said "no problem we'll come back. Well, it is five days later and not only did they NOT come back, we still haven't even received a phone call. I guess three large trees is not enough for this very unprofessional and discourteous tree-trimming business. We are done with Tony Gomez! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This company was at my townhouse company all day today and was blocking our driveway for the majority of the day. I asked them multiple times to move, so that I could get in/out of my house. I had multiple errands to run and every time I came back, they were more in the way. I had to park in the street because they refused to move. Then as I was crossing the street to my house, I tripped and fell in the street and the landscapers stood there and laughed at me. I had road burn and was bleeding on my hands, knees, feet, and face. I ripped my clothes and fell on my dog, and these guys LAUGHED at me. We called the owner of the company to report to him how inhumane and rude his staff is, and we had to leave a message with the front desk and he never called us back. Clearly these people don't care at all!! Don't give them your money or business!!!! read more

I cannot say anything about the services they offer but I am so fed up with the guys driving these trucks getting onto a freeway doing 20mph or else. This is putting so many people in danger of an accident when they think driving that slow speed getting onto a freeway then 25mph once on the freeway is acceptable. This isn't a one time occurrence, it has happened so often that I took a picture this morning of the driver doing 13mph getting onto the freeway, on a rather long freeway entrance ramp, and then proceeded to do 20mph once on the freeway. I have 20+ years of heavy towing experience and this is inexcusable. Either your drivers need to make a little more effort or you seriously need to get your vehicles inspected for potential safety issues if they cannot go over 25mph. read more

Tony Gomez Tree Service - Tree Services Near Me - El Cajon, California

Three words: SAFETY, PROFESSIONALISM, and RELIABILITY. I used Tony Gomez Tree Service to cut down 3 very tall eucalyptus trees. One was leaning over a primary road through our area and towards some power lines. The other two were leaning towards our house. I received several estimates during our selection process and ultimately chose Tony's company because they committed to remove all cut material from our property and gave us a very competitive price. The 3 man crew arrived on time with a bucket truck, stake truck, and a large chipper. They coned off a portion of the street and began cutting branches high up from the bucket, using ropes to safely lower the larger branches to the ground. The two crew members on the ground kept the chipper busy grinding up all of the branches and leaves. As the trees came down, they backed the stake truck tight up against the trunks and dropped the large trunk segments directly into the truck. They finished up a long day by thoroughly cleaning up around the site. During the cutting process, a large branch fell on the sidewalk, cracking the concrete. I was very impressed that Tony sent a crew out the following day to repair the sidewalk. I was pleased and appreciative of the professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness of everyone I encountered in this company, as well as the hard work and focus on safety by the tree removal team. I am very happy to have made the decision to used Tony Gomez Tree Service and highly recommend them if you need tree work done. read more

Awesome! From start to finish I think this company was the best I've hired in 25 years living in our home. We had a lot of work to do and they busted it out in just a few hours. Trimmed 2 Queen Palms, 9 King Palms, removed 6 Big Agave plants and cleared a huge bank (a really tough hill) of a ton of wild bush and weeds. I was referred to Tony by my brother who uses him all the time I was impressed right off the bat when I looked at their website-INSURED is key-they are covered. The estimate was very fair, even a little on the cheap side (ain't my first rodeo). They showed up exactly as scheduled, we walked through what I was expecting of them and they got right to work. Our entire double car driveway within an hour was first full of everything they cut and removed and then they put it all in their wood chipper to the huge truck...how many times have you hired guys that load their rotten trucks with crap that is unsafe to haul away to the dump...this would've been about 6 dump runs. They were totally affordable, clean, super nice and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again. They used the blower when they were done but I still had some cleaning up to do-I had to wash everything down when they left because I have a lot of cement ...they weren't here to clean, they were here to do what they did and they nailed it! I do use Yelp when hiring people and the negative reviews on this company seemed to be from the people that didn't even hire the company..."whatever". read more

I was impressed when I met him, but everything else was not quality. They did not return my calls with an updated estimate and came by my house today unannounced to do the work. We were supposed to meet tomorrow morning. Additionally they butchered my shade trees. It's June...Summer...and I have no shade. I'm furious. read more

My next-door neighbor used these guys to remove a large Ficus tree growing on her side of our common fence. After the tree was removed a large part of my patio and yard were covered in sawdust and neither Tony Gomez nor his crew were anywhere to be found. Gee Tony, I've never met you but I'm going to guess you're a careless, inconsiderate amateur when it comes to tree service. read more

A good business doesn't say it can do a job and doesn't show up without warning. A good business doesn't say they will meet you in the middle of a work day (and they picked the time) and show up 1 hour late without warning. Think we got all day for you? We work too! A good business doesn't let it's workers sleep under and around the truck in my backyard, at 2:30pm (ya no, it wasn't lunch hour - they had already taken that) when there is branches to chip and debris to clean up...oh but they were waiting on someone. Give me a break. read more

To say I was furious would be an understatement! These unprofessional idiots were hired by my neighbor. Without any notice they park a huge truck in my front yard! Then they drag a piece of equipment over an asphalt curb and leave a big gouge they also helped themselves to some of my landscaping material to use for a ramp. They left a bunch of branches on my private road. The empty drink bottle thrown on my yard next to the trash can says it all. These guys just don't give a damn! I should have called the Sheriff and reported the CRIMINAL TRESPASS! read more

work was completed efficiently, and they cleaned up nicely afterward. will be calling again.

This company is a JOKE! DO NOT HIRE THEM. I did not hire them but they did work on my neighbors yards on the street. They did work on my street and parked in front of my house on my driveway without my permission and left a HUGE mess of oil on my freshly resealed driveway. I spoke to the company no less than 3 times and they promised to come clean it up. As of today, more than 3 weeks later, they have yet to clean it up. SLOPPY, UNPROFESSIONAL, & IRRESPONSIBLE! read more

Really poor service. A property I work with has used this company in the past, paying them thousands of dollars a year in various jobs. They've always been okay at best. That was until recently there was a string of mishaps which sent them from okay to terrible. They routinely don't show up for scheduled jobs, yet inquire about payment for said jobs. Like many of the review posted before this one there seems to be a trend of poor customer service practices. The girls on the phone are rude and dismissive. I wonder if this is a family run business who all live off Tony Gomez's wallet, while slowly ruining his business. I recommend using any other landscaping or tree service vendors over Tony Gomez. read more

HORRIBLE. My neighbor used these guys to cut down a huge tree at the back of our properties. They were loud, talking constantly, didn't use proper safety techniques or other protections for neighboring properties. But the worst part was they KNEW the tree was protected due to owls nesting there - it's been protected for nearly 10 years. They were told many times and acknowledged that they couldn't cut down a tree that was used for nesting and continued to cut it down ANYWAY because the neighbor was paying them and they didn't want to lose the job. We called it in to the City and they are investigating. I hope they get what's coming to them. read more
