I live in a mobile home park so I don't have control over which service is used. This company is the most disrespectful and uncaring of my personal property. I have requested a little notice of when they will be here so that I can move my potted plants and yard decor/furniture out of the way. Each year they show up unannounced and start trimming a pine tree that is over my property. This year was the worst. Broken pots, broken cactus and succulents (some are rare species), yard decor thrown all over. It's not just lost money, it's my time and energy spent to beautify my home. Best tree service out of all the ones I called. I had a huge tree fall down in my yard. Original quotes were over 10k and 2-3 days. Best quote was less than 10 but leave the wood. Tony gave me an estimate of 2-3 days but much less than everyone else and he would take care of the mess. Kind of a no brainer being on a tight budget and time constraint. Tony not only cleared the tree, they cleared the adjacent tree that got obliterated when it fell, hauled away the debris, ground the stump and did it all in one day!!! I couldn't be happier with my experience. I originally went with them being in a tight spot financially and they were the best deal but they were the best in literally every way. My neighbors are getting service from Tony Gomez Tree Service & Landscape Management this morning. They're in their driveway chipping away at the tree they've cut down and they didn't even bother to come over to ask me to move my brand new car away from where they are working. My car is filthy and covered in dust and wood chips, so is my driveway and the street in front of my home. I called the number on the truck to speak with someone and spoke to a women who wasn't very helpful. She asked me if I spoke to the crew...why would I go over there while they're actively using heavy machinery to chip wood, and using chainsaws? The crew is covered from head to toe in protective gear, do you think I'm going over in my sweats and slippers? Sure, that seems smart and safe, I'll walk right over and talk to them now. Anyway, she called me back and laughed at my concerns which I found to be rude and obnoxious. As a new homeowner who needs to get landscaping work and tree trimming done, I'll never use this service or recommend it to anyone. Unsafe operation/no precautions taken? Driving along Caroll Canyon Road by the Gold Coast Apartments and a Eucalyptus tree limb cut by a crew in the crane bucket falls to the lane in front of me. They've got safety cones front and aft of the truck and crane rig but no cones to block the lane where cut tree limbs may fall or maybe the spotter was too distracted watch out for and divert traffic around the area. read more

This place is a joke! Less than one star service. Cheap prices sure, and it is obvious why that is. Tony's crew is a joke. I had to call these guys five or six times to come complete the job. They showed up over six hours late to start, didn't finish and said they will be back the following day. They came back over a week later after I complained. I ended up putting an add on CraigsList to remove all the wood from my yard cause I was sick of waiting on an incompetent, unprofessional tree service. I only give one star because someone answered the phone to book my appointment. I made an appointment for tree service and called at 8:30 am on the day of the service and was assured they would call the trimmers in the field to find when they would be at the house to perform service and I never received a call back. Made a second call to get the confirmation of trimmers arrival and was told 12:00pm, which came and went without a call so I called at 3:10 pm since there was still no call and no trimmers and no one answered the phone. Let me start out by saying that I understand everyone else's terrible reviews as I've had one-star experiences with places that have only five-star ratings ... we all have different experiences, and I certainly have with Tony Gomez. We worked with Tony Gomez in 2001 or so to remove a huge-trunked, terribly-placed palm tree. They did a fine job and their prices were reasonable. For the past two years, one of our neighbors has coordinated them to trim about 100 palm trees here in Kensington since the City isn't doing it any more. They gave an excellent quantity discount, making it more affordable than you can imagine. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company was at my townhouse company all day today and was blocking our driveway for the majority of the day. I asked them multiple times to move, so that I could get in/out of my house. I had multiple errands to run and every time I came back, they were more in the way. I had to park in the street because they refused to move. Then as I was crossing the street to my house, I tripped and fell in the street and the landscapers stood there and laughed at me. I had road burn and was bleeding on my hands, knees, feet, and face. I ripped my clothes and fell on my dog, and these guys LAUGHED at me. We called the owner of the company to report to him how inhumane and rude his staff is, and we had to leave a message with the front desk and he never called us back. I cannot say anything about the services they offer but I am so fed up with the guys driving these trucks getting onto a freeway doing 20mph or else. This is putting so many people in danger of an accident when they think driving that slow speed getting onto a freeway then 25mph once on the freeway is acceptable. This isn't a one time occurrence, it has happened so often that I took a picture this morning of the driver doing 13mph getting onto the freeway, on a rather long freeway entrance ramp, and then proceeded to do 20mph once on the freeway. I have 20+ years of heavy towing experience and this is inexcusable. Either your drivers need to make a little more effort or you seriously need to get your vehicles inspected for potential safety issues if they cannot go over 25mph. read more

Three words: SAFETY, PROFESSIONALISM, and RELIABILITY. I used Tony Gomez Tree Service to cut down 3 very tall eucalyptus trees. One was leaning over a primary road through our area and towards some power lines. The other two were leaning towards our house. I received several estimates during our selection process and ultimately chose Tony's company because they committed to remove all cut material from our property and gave us a very competitive price. The 3 man crew arrived on time with a bucket truck, stake truck, and a large chipper. They coned off a portion of the street and began cutting branches high up from the bucket, using ropes to safely lower the larger branches to the ground. The two crew members on the ground kept the chipper busy grinding up all of the branches and leaves. As the trees came down, they backed the stake truck tight up against the trunks and dropped the large trunk segments directly into the truck. They finished up a long day by thoroughly cleaning up around the site. During the cutting process, a large branch fell on the sidewalk, cracking the concrete. I was very impressed that Tony sent a crew out the following day to repair the sidewalk. I was pleased and appreciative of the professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness of everyone I encountered in this company, as well as the hard work and focus on safety by the tree removal team. Awesome! From start to finish I think this company was the best I've hired in 25 years living in our home. We had a lot of work to do and they busted it out in just a few hours. Trimmed 2 Queen Palms, 9 King Palms, removed 6 Big Agave plants and cleared a huge bank (a really tough hill) of a ton of wild bush and weeds. I was referred to Tony by my brother who uses him all the time I was impressed right off the bat when I looked at their website-INSURED is key-they are covered. The estimate was very fair, even a little on the cheap side (ain't my first rodeo). They showed up exactly as scheduled, we walked through what I was expecting of them and they got right to work. Our entire double car driveway within an hour was first full of everything they cut and removed and then they put it all in their wood chipper to the huge truck...how many times have you hired guys that load their rotten trucks with crap that is unsafe to haul away to the dump...this would've been about 6 dump runs. They were totally affordable, clean, super nice and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again. They used the blower when they were done but I still had some cleaning up to do-I had to wash everything down when they left because I have a lot of cement ...they weren't here to clean, they were here to do what they did and they nailed it! Really poor service. A property I work with has used this company in the past, paying them thousands of dollars a year in various jobs. They've always been okay at best. That was until recently there was a string of mishaps which sent them from okay to terrible. They routinely don't show up for scheduled jobs, yet inquire about payment for said jobs. Like many of the review posted before this one there seems to be a trend of poor customer service practices. The girls on the phone are rude and dismissive. I wonder if this is a family run business who all live off Tony Gomez's wallet, while slowly ruining his business. HORRIBLE. My neighbor used these guys to cut down a huge tree at the back of our properties. They were loud, talking constantly, didn't use proper safety techniques or other protections for neighboring properties. But the worst part was they KNEW the tree was protected due to owls nesting there - it's been protected for nearly 10 years. They were told many times and acknowledged that they couldn't cut down a tree that was used for nesting and continued to cut it down ANYWAY because the neighbor was paying them and they didn't want to lose the job. Let me preface this review by saying that I neglected to read these reviews prior to hiring Tony Gomez Tree Service, and I'm glad that I did, as I might have missed out on their great prices. My experience with this company was much different than most of the others which are posted here. First, I'd like to address their fee, which is the main reason that I gave for the five stars. I had a row of dead trees, and a couple of live ones, which bordered my driveway. Many had already toppled a bit, and it was pretty much a mess due to neglect. I obtained three estimates. Without going to the specifics as far as the actual prices, I will say that Tony Gomez Tree Service beat the first estimate by 59% and the second estimate by 33%. This was a HUGE savings for me! This was not any type of a negotiated or haggled estimate either, it was what they initially offered to do the job for. I should add that I never told them what the other estimates came in at, only that I had a couple of them. To be fair, I should also add that I had a Queen Palm that I need cleaned up too, and asked how much more that would run. Their fee for that tree was just a tad higher than the others, but only by $5.00-$10.00. When I was re-contacted by the person who gave me my second estimate, I told him the amount that Tony Gomez Tree Service would do the job for. Guy #2 told me there's no way he could do any better and even told me if I had the numbers correct, then I should just hire them, as their price was unbeatable. He even wondered if I had been mis-quoted by accident. The workers arrived on time and the job was completed pretty much within the time period that they said it would be. For the most part, everything was cleaned up pretty well afterwards. They even took off a couple of dead branches from another tree, which was close to the main job, at no extra charge. After the crew had left after the completion of the job, I later discovered that a 12' tree trunk had been left behind. This was one that had fallen over years ago, however part of our agreement was they would remove all of the debris. The trunk was sort of nestled in an area that would be easy to miss. I placed a call to Tony Gomez Tree Service and left a message. I did receive a return call the following day, and the trunk was later removed that same day with no hassle. Again, I want to reiterate that the main reason for five stars was due to their fees, however even putting that aside, I felt they did a good job and I would definitely hire them again. read more
