My original review from 2022: I highly recommend these guys! Wednesday I had a huge branch fall off a large tree in the back yard which you cannot see from the front. Thursday, they were in the neighborhood and knocked on my door. Do you need tree service? YES I DO! Friday they came, took care of the branch and trimmed another tree for me, all at a great price! It's like they KNEW that I needed them! Update 2026: One of my HUGE trees fell. I realized that my other 3 trees posed a threat to my house if they fell as well. I still had their number from the first time. I called Mark and he answered knowing my name. He still had my number in his phone! Hi Judi, How can I help?!!! In one day, he and his great crew removed the fallen tree and cut the other trees down to a size that no longer threatens the house and all for a reasonable price for the large amount of work that needed to be done. Seriously, I am keeping his number in my phone in case I need him again! read more

Great job they provided for me! My trees look amazing and everything very well cleaned up!

The Knock-EM-Out Tree Service worked on the grounds of the Historic Town Hall in Alpine, CA. We were incredibly happy with their work. They were courteous, quick, cleaned up and hauled off everything removed. The workers were a joy to be around and so helpful. They even went beyond what we had asked them to do by taking on a few other small projects for us. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them for their work completed in June of 2026. read more

I am happy with the service and the affordable price. They did a great job trimming the palms and cleaning up afterward. They also took into consideration our request not to use spikes to not hurt the palms. The only issue was that they rescheduled twice, but other than that, it was a great job. read more

Excellent service. They did a great job and finished it all in one day!! Thank you!

I cannot speak more highly about this company. They offer competitive pricing. Not only do they do a stellar job trimming and removing trees, they are conscientious about clean up and ensuring the client is happy. When I discovered that an irrigation pipe had been accidentally cut, they came out the next day and immediately fixed it. Many thanks to the entire crew, and Kris and Mike for their professionalism. I will never use another company for this service. read more

We hired this company for the first time and are very pleased with their service. Anthony gave extra time and effort to make sure my parents' yard was properly taken care of and provided a whole crew to knock out the entire job in half a day. We really appreciate the time, care, and communication they provided and will happily be using them in the near future as needed. - The Di Meglio Family read more

We just had our elm tree trimmed and laced yesterday and some cypress trees trimmed as well and they came out fantastic. Chris and his crew were amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The work was done quickly and the area was completely cleaned up afterwords. I would recommend this company to anyone who is in need of a tree trimming. Ask for Chris and he will definitely take care of you. read more

Just had this company take out a 60' tall tree. They did an awesome job and cleaned up afterwards. They cut up the logs and loaded them in my trailer. Very fair price based on the bids I received. Highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again. Will be referring them to anyone I know that needs tree service. read more

I am so incredibly impressed by the Knock-Em-Out team. We had four huge palm trees in front of our house that we decided to get rid of. The quote for removal, stump grinding and clean up was very reasonable. The team showed up early to make sure the area was ready and no cars were in the way. This team was fast, efficient, and looked like they were having fun in the process. They worked so well together! It was a very impressive process to watch. They cleaned up everything so well you would have never known they were there! They even finished earlier than projected. I went out and looked over everything they had done and was so happy. I highly recommend this team and we will be using them again this fall for some tree trimming in the back of the house! read more

The BEST tree trimmers in El Cajon area. We used them for the first time to trim and lace an oak tree off our busy road. They did a Spectacular job. Very professional and they do a great job cleaning up. Today's service was to tackle 16 Queen palms and start shaping a Canary palm. Fantastic job! I highly recommend Knock Em Out. Honest, fair and great workmanship. The only tree company I will use from now on. Thank You!! read more

We had a GIANT tree that needed to have major work on to get it safe (it's next to and above our house). Chris, Mark and all the guys on their team were excellent. From their great customer service with us to cutting down 100s of huge limbs carefully and safely (they use very skilled climbers and ropes to lower limbs). Then on top of that, a very fair rate for their services. A+. read more

Knock-Em-Out Tree Service was GREAT. Mark Howell's crew did an amazing job and did way more work that we expected for the price. We have used other tree services in the past and will only use this company in the future. They even discovered an active nest in one tree and worked around it to not disturb the chicks (who have now successfully left the nest). They even cut up all the bigger limbs and branches to a size for our fireplace. Thanks, Knock-Em-Out. Steve and Sandie Hembera read more

Very unprofessional crew. Extremely loud, obnoxious, constant vulgar language used when they were at my residence. Clearly no respect for tenants that are mostly elderly or families with children, or people who work overnight. Would not recommend this company. As the saying goes, employees are the reflection of businesses owners/management. read more

This co does not care about preserving trees , they only want to make money. unprofessional and NOT safe! No one wore safety helmets and they desecrated a PROTECTED coastal live oak in my neighborhood. SHAME on them !! The kumeyaay nation will be SO sad that they treated our ancestor a 300 year old tree this way just to make a crabby neighbor happy to not see leaves anymore. i'm DISGUSTED with this horrible company ! Do your research first before hiring a tree co. read more

From quote to completion, these guys were top notch!! Professional, friendly, responsive, timely, and did a fantastic job!! Lived their energy and positive vibe. They worked hard and were 100% respectful and conscientious of my property -- careful not to damage any of the surrounding decor or plants when taking down a 30ft Mexican Palm, or trimming the 7 other palms they worked on around the house and pool area. They took care of ALL the debris to the point where they left no foot print of them having been there. I can not commend these guys enough - first time my DIY hubby has ever hired anyone to do work on our property! Like me, He was very satisfied, and we will hire them again!! Thank you Kris, Carlos, Mike....and the rest of the crew!! God Bless you and keep you safe. read more

So, I didn't have to do the hard part in researching! They responded to me immediately the first day of contact and assured me that they could do the job within the week. They came out and cut down my king palm in minutes! They also trimmed other small trees. They were polite, listened to my orders and were very skilled in their jobs. This trees is home to hundreds of birds. For 27 years I've watched them. Always a Coopers hawk, songbirds. The manager ordered it to be cut down. You are not supposed to cut trees down (unless a hazard) in the springtime! During nesting season! Just wait till fall. Shame. The service knows this and should advise. read more

Twice I have used this company and twice I have been extremely satisfied. The job is done to perfection. Really excellent service from start to finish! I was referred to Knock-Em-Out Tree Service by a friend who had used them and was really pleased with their work. I was getting quotes from several companies, and included them on my list. They were the lowest price, but there was no lack of quality in their work. Communication and job scheduling was quick and efficient and the crew was highly professional, cleaning up completely. They trimmed a HUGE tree that was starting to look like a dark & scary forest, leaving a nice canopy. My yard looks so open now; and I saved so much money that I was able to add another tree that needed pruning to this job. I wouldn't hesitate to use Knock-Em-Out again for any future needs. read more

Anthony, Kris and the rest of the guys did an amazing job on the queen palms in my yard. The guys were extremely efficient, cleaned up everything that fell as a result of their tidying up the palms (including any branches, seeds, dirt...). I can't thank them enough! Also, I gave Anthony a very short window of time to work within and they were able to take care of it. He was also willing to work within my budget, and I am grateful. The guys made such an impression that while they were working on my yard, my neighbor asked if they'd be interested in doing his trees. So they got two jobs after starting one!! Anthony, thank you. This letter was emailed on March 16. I received no response. This company does not act honorably. The pine tree trim was ok although the carrotwood is much shorter than discussed. But the damage to our property us unacceptable. See below. Dear Mark, Your company laced and trimmed our pine tree a couple of weeks ago.   After you were there, we noticed one of the bowls of our 3 tier Talavera fountain was in the opposite side of the walkway.  It was then we discovered that of the fountain (which had been a special gift to me) was broken. My husband texted and sent you pictures as you requested.  You said your guys said they didn't do it but then you  asked how much to replace it.  You didn't think the amount we quoted of $180 was reasonable.  So we sent you the invoice which was for $206.    When you gave us the bid. My husband asked if anything needed to be moved.   You assured him everything would be taken care of .  In addition to the fountain, a sprinkler head was snapped off as was the main branch of a rose.  You told him you would get back to him on the 8th .  It is now the 17th.   We have heard nothing yet. . I want to give you a final chance to make this right prior to posting on  Yelp and social media, the Better Business Bureau and potentially small claims court. I hope you'll make the decision to do the right thing.  I will wait until Friday the 19th.  Sincerely, KK Update: nothing has been done by this company . We found out yesterday come up that not only did they break the top of our sprinkler but they also broke the pipe underneath when the tree branch fell on the sprinkler head. This is going to cost a significant amount of money to take care of . Do not use this company. They do not stand behind their work. read more
