Something smells fishy, and it isn't the restaurant. It's Crumbl's Yelp page. I've never…read moreencountered a page with so many reviews relegated to the "not recommended" section. What's more, I've noticed some peculiar patterns. For instance, I looked at Crumbl's Yelp page before visiting. There was one generic review from a person with no profile picture and a single review, but when I revisited the page, their review had mysteriously disappeared, only to be replaced by a strikingly similar one from a different user. It all seems a bit orchestrated, doesn't it? Like management might be trying to manipulate the reviews to paint a rosier picture of their business. With a whopping 29 "not recommended" reviews, it's hard not to smell something fishy. Initially, I was leaning towards giving this business a 3-star rating, but the more I reflect on my experience, the more frustrated I become. The "not recommended" reviews I've come across often praise the "great service" and "awesome staff." While I can't say they're outright lying, it feels like a bit of a stretch from the truth. Sure, I could concede that it was "great service" in the sense that I essentially served myself. Upon entering, there were no cashiers in sight--just two ordering devices on the counter, prompting customers to take their own orders. However, what really rubbed me the wrong way was when it came time to pay. They had the audacity to ask for a tip. Now, I'm all for tipping for good service, but this felt like a bit much. The tipping screen offered options of $2, $3, or $4--on a purchase of just one $4 cookie. A 50%-100% tip for simply being handed a cookie in a box seemed excessive, especially when $1 wasn't even a quick option unless manually entered. It felt unreasonable to expect such a high tip for minimal interaction. I would have been much more inclined to select the 15% option on my $4 purchase, which feels far more reasonable for the level of service provided. C'mon Crumbl. Do better. Oh yeah. I guess I should talk about the cookie. I got the Blue Monster cookie featuring Chips Ahoy. I was okay. The cookie was soft, and the icing didn't really taste like anything except butter. It was a bit too much icing for me, so I scraped a lot of it off. I didn't want to gorge myself on the enormous cookie, so I ate it over a period of two days.

But the servers a genuinely nice and the food is fine, so we come back periodically. But last night I waited 20 minutes, sitting at my table, and no sever came to greet me or take a drink order. Nothing. Another table was seated, greeted and had their drinks delivered to them with no issues. That lack of service caused me to leave. I will not be returning to this location. Perkins, please hire more staff. Your servers are overworked and your kitchen staff is slow, so I assume they need more support. I know unemployment rates are low and competition for workers is high, but if you want people to eat at your location, there is a level of service expected and you get there by having the right number of staff to serve them.

Comments on the burger: a small portion of the bottom bun was completely soggy from the burger's juices while the rest of the brioche bun was perfect. The light grilling of the inside of the bun added a nice texture. They should set the lettuce on the plate for you to add in yourself to preserve its crispness. Mine was wilted from being under the bun for however long. The fries that came with it were great: just enough crispiness and good potato flavor. My husband had no callouts about his order which meant it was all as expected. No problems. Waitress was friendly but tended to chat longer than necessary at her tables. Still our order came out in a timely fashion. Restaurant looked well kept up and clean.
