I absolutely love this place. All the elixirs, shakes, tonics, and mixes anyone could dream of. Super kind "bar" keep, attentive, patient, calm. We did the oxygen session with aroma and it was exactly what I needed to balance me out emotionally that day. I'd recommend this for some soothing or healthy energy you may need to take care of yourself. I'll be back. Try it!

this was our first stop in Boulder and I highly recommend it. Instead of some hot tea like I normally would get we got some sort of drink that was very tasty and the staff was great. Very relaxing atmosphere. If i come back to Boulder i am pretty sure I would like to stop here first becasue very relaxing atmosphere in the middle of the nicest area with comfortable seating to get our plans together for our walk down main street. Lots of places to eat, drink, shop, etc. close by.

Looking for a cool place to hang out & enjoy Herbal Elixirs, Teas & SMARTini's. Look no further. This place is cool and hip.

I'm not vegan, but pretty close, so I always enjoy having a full menu of plant-based meals to choose from. I went with the samurai bowl and an impossible thoughts tonic. The samurai bowl exceeded expectations - the sesame nori-crusted tempeh was really unique and delicious with the caesar dipping sauce. They offered hot sauce but I ended up not really needing it because the bowl was plenty flavorful without. The tonic was also really interesting - lots going on but it really worked. In addition to the main menu, they also have a whole array of vegan cakes and cupcakes for dessert, many of which are also gluten-free. I had a GF lemon lavender cake. The cake was also fantastic and the texture was perfect. It was quite a large slice, so I'd recommend splitting a slice of cake between two people. A very good experience that I'd recommend for anyone interested in plant-based food!

The vibe here is of a japanese izakaya, though not a super traditional one, with sake bombs and everything. That said, the food is definitely on the pricier side, though extremely delicious. My typical go to is on of the salad. Now salads typically are not standout at most restaurants, but the ones at Kawa Ni just hits different. Both the red cabbage and pear salad and the brocolli salad are delicious and the portion is massive, easily enough for a table of 4 to share. For apps and shareable entrees, you can't go wrong here. The build your own tuna temaki hand rolls can easily be shared and the tuna is so fresh and well seasoned. The szechuan dumplings are delicious, as is the curry onigiri and the bao bun. The Dan Dan noodle, kimchi Carbonara, and their tonkotsu ramen are also amazing, and, with the exception of the tonkotsu ramen, can easily be shared. I would highly recommend other seasonal dishes as well, such as the coconut swordfish or chicken katsu parm. However, one of my absolute favorite dish here is the ochazuke. It's basically grilled fish over rice in a warm green tea dashi. It's so comforting, especially on a cold night, and a dish that I return to time and time again. Overall, Kawa Ni is an amazing japanese restaurant. Come for the food and just make sure you get a sake bomb and ask for the gong when you do.

I kept hearing about this spot and their weekday/weekend specials, so I finally checked it out--and…read morenow it's in my regular rotation. It's definitely giving date night energy: low lighting, candlelit tables, and a cozy-but-busy atmosphere. Every time I've gone it's been pretty packed, but I've never had trouble snagging a seat (and I never make reservations). Honestly, it's become my go-to for a solo night--cocktail in hand, spicy book in the other. My routine? Friday nights. I settle in with my book, order the Thai calamari (which has the perfect punch of flavor), and wait for the 9pm special--$0.99 oysters until close on Fridays and Saturdays. Such a steal. The servers are always great, but Chris really stands out--attentive, kind, and totally gets the vibe of letting me relax and enjoy my drink and my book. I also came during Denver Restaurant Week and did their 3-course menu: calamari (obviously), the sea bass (which surprised me in the best way), and the blood orange olive oil cake... WOW. Light, citrusy, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right. Most recently, I brought my boyfriend and we finally explored more of their oyster selection. Our server guided us based on our flavor preferences, and we loved a few so much we had to order another dozen. This spot is a gem--whether it's a solo unwind night or a cute date. I try to come at least once a month, and it never disappoints.

Nothing tasted all that good - the calamari is drowned in a sweet Thai chili sauce to hide how bad it is. They also have 99 cent happy hour signs plastered everywhere and the waiter made sure to point out "these are the happy hour oysters" but the fine print says that's just for one day in the future. Seems a bit suspect and intentional. Random unexplained "surcharge" of 3.5%. Not worth the money or visit, bland and overpriced food even during happy hour.

I also got an order of the crispy rice that has a salmon and a tuna. The salmon was way too sweet and had a fishy aftertaste that I disliked. The truffle tuna was definitely the better one of the two. However, the rice itself was absolutely mushy and not necessarily crispy. It also didn't have the best flavor. Desserts tried were the olive oil orange cake and the brownie. both are OK and nice and sweet, but not something I would spend money on Overall, truly think this place is a hit and miss. We were surprised to find it very crowded at 4pm when we visited. There's a small area at the front of the restaurant and a lot of folks were gathered there waiting for their tables. It took several minutes before the hostess checked us in and let us know it would be a few minute wait. A bit later we were guided to our seats. I appreciated that they took trouble to make it feel like a special experience - with white tablecloths, decor and the cutlery. They seemed a bit short staffed that day so our server was helping out many tables. He was very helpful in explaining the menu, though we did have to ask specifically to receive the full tea menu. We decided on a few teas to share - a spiced white chocolate white tea, rooibos chai, and a hibiscus cooler (iced and non-caffeinated). The spiced white chocolate was fantastic. I wasn't as much of a fan of the rooibos but if you like less sweet teas this is a good choice. The hibiscus cooler was delicious and refreshing, and I liked that they let us take it to go! Our amuse bouche came out first - a delicious pumpkin seed savory small soup and it was fantastic. We eagerly awaited our tea tower - and it certainly did not disappoint! We are still thinking about the delicious spinach and artichoke pinwheel with olive tapenade - it was our absolute favorite. The savory sandwiches were also delicious. We especially enjoyed the clotted cream and lemon curd with the scone, and the desserts were delectable. We were stuffed by the end of our teatime! Our server was very helpful and despite it being very busy, we felt taken care of. I think this is a very worthwhile experience - the tea, sweets, and savories are all delicious and definitely worth checking out!
