We had hardwood floors installed in our home from Tonda Sales. The sales people were helpful, Russ, the owner was involved from the beginning until the end of the job to insure a job well done in a short time frame. We feel we got a good deal, and we love our floors. We purchased carpet from Tonda Flooring to re-carpet our home. Initially, the stairs looked wonky, everything looked and within a few months it became clear that the installation had not been done properly. The carpet began pulling away from the walls, leaving visible gaps. It also pulled away from the base of our stairs, and every time we vacuumed, the carpet would lift because it had not been secured correctly. In addition, the transition strips between rooms separated by more than a quarter of an inch. This became unsightly after being cleaned for the first time. I contacted Tonda Flooring, and an owner came to inspect the issues. Based on our conversation, I believed they intended to stand behind their work. Instead, they referred me to an independent carpet repair company. The repair technician spent several hours re-securing the carpet in multiple areas where it should have been properly fastened during the original installation. Unfortunately, he was unable to repair the transition areas because the damage had progressed beyond what could reasonably be fixed. During the repair, he commented several times that he was surprised by the quality of the original installation and that it had not been done correctly. After the repairs were completed, I was informed that Tonda Flooring would not reimburse me for the repair costs, leaving me to pay for work that I believe was necessary because of the original installation. I understand that problems can occur with any project. What disappointed me most was not just the installation itself, but the company's unwillingness to stand behind its workmanship after acknowledging the issues. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tonda Flooring. read more

We are very happy with the service installation and quality of our flooring. We worked with Maryann and Russ choose our flooring. We had our entire first floor done including closets and stairs leading up to second floor. Over 2,000 square feet of new wood flooring. They performed the demo leveling the subfloor which required major work. Our floors feel more solid make no noise now when walking on them. They completed all work moving and replacing the furniture. Unprofessional ~ See All Pictures! It took almost a MONTH to complete a 685 sq ft space and cost $5,781.18 for an incomplete job! The owner, Russ is a smooth talker and will make everything sound wonderful, when it isn't his temper flares and he is rude.. He refuses to listen to customers concerns. We have security cameras; Russ left our home on 6-22-2020 after we asked him to come look at and address our concerns with the job, as usual Russ would NOT listen, he just argued with us and said the job was beautiful! As he left with his installer our security cameras caught Russ making several rude comments about us - UNPROFESSIONAL! 1st appointment set 5-19-2020; we packed up and moved everything into the garage and they were a NO show!!! Russ, the owner "Sorry, I double booked"! Our job was rescheduled to 5-26-2020, only the demo and floors installed, they had to return to install baseboards because they damaged them! 6-9-2020 - baseboards dropped off so we could paint them, they didn't get enough. 6-12-2020 installers showed up LATE (1.5 hours) to install baseboards, and caulk where we wanted AND they still did NOT finish the job! 6-14-2020 installer showed up to "finish" the job... we finally said enough, we'll finished the job! The owners themselves are really nice people but what good is that when they can't provide the service that you need. Had an appointment scheduled and somehow they ended up canceling. I think the lady who answered the phone canceled it because she was flat out rude. Wouldn't surprise me. It's been over two days with no ETA on an estimate so we can get carpet install before we move in to our new house . The ladies who answers the phones are overall rude and not helpful. Apparently everything has to go through Russ, which doesn't help since he's out doing estimates. I would say if you're not in ANY rush to get carpet installed or don't give a crap about customer service then go with them but I was shocked with how unorganized/unprofessional this business was. read more

Super nice people with decent prices, but that's where it ends. After going to the showroom and looking at flooring, we had Russ out to give us an estimate for our entire house, so not a small job. After several weeks and even going back to the showroom to inquire about it, we never received an estimate. We were told that sometimes he just gets too busy. Hmmm. We did end up buying the material there, but even that had its difficulties. They were only willing to give a 5% contractor discount and apparently a forklift driver is not always available to load the product so I guess you need to plan ahead. read more

We previously purchased several hundred feet of engineered flooring from them, and it went fairly smoothly (only reason we're not giving one star). We've been trying to get someone out for over a month and today marks the third appointment we had where Russ simply didn't show up. We called Tonda around 11:30 (he was supposed to be here between 10-11) and they said he was somewhere in Lincoln (we live in Auburn). We really wanted to support the small business owner but this level of customer service is just too much for us to be willing to tolerate any further. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service imaginable. MaryAnn, the receptionist, wouldn't know a scruple if she ran over one. We were lied to again and again: Oh, Russ hasn't given me the numbers for your job. And he was standing 12 feet away from me and I said, "Well, he's standing right there, why not ask him now?" The response? Oh, he's having problems with a shipment and can't be bothered. Then we were promised that the job would begin in one week (it was the following Monday). Now, 10 days later, "...Russ still hasn't given me the numbers..." We will not have our flooring in before Christmas and are now compelled to use a competitor and understand it won't be in until next year. DO NOT use these people, they have no understanding of business acumen or honestly. I'm at my wit's end. Never again. read more

I am new to the Roseville area and though experienced with remodeling in the Bay Area I now needed to have carpets removed and floors installed in the Roseville Bungalow I recently purchased, I needed advice on flooring materials and though I had hoped I could match the existing hardwood laminate that pre-existed, I had lost hope of that happening. I had several bids with excellent companies looking to remove all flooring with replacement but when Russ Tonda appeared, his furrowed brow, and thinking expression with a comment that "these floors are beautiful", and later while measuring the house with his in house employee saying to me, "I think I can match these boards" I was blown away at his honesty and transparency. And, you know his company was able to do the complete job, expertly with his inhouse crew, preserved all the baseboards, matched the laminate beautifully, applied the molding along the baseboards and worked perfectly with my timeline to move in and continues to be someone I can call for other referrals. The job was done right and reasonable. (Three bedrooms, one great room.) All my questions answered, saved me money, and, I could call and consult anytime. read more

We were referred to the Rocklin store by the Sacramento store. We found a substitute hardwood product and then arranged for an estimate of the repair. A few days before the scheduled appointment, Russ, the owner, called to cancel and reschedule the appointment. I called a few days later to confirm the new appointment but was unable to get a confirmation. I made a number of follow up calls, but was unable to secure the appointment. I wrote an email asking if Tonda planned to follow up and if not to let us know they were not interested. I never got a response. This mistreatment left us disappointed. Tonda's (Rocklin) lack of basic courtesy led to this complaint. Other scheduled work was impacted and we were simply ignored. Very poor customer service. read more

Came to Tonda for their "low price" carpet. We met with the owner Russ and he seemed friendly AT FIRST, We were deciding between two diff carpets and he gave us a price for each which was NOT the same for both. We picked one at $15 a yard, paid for it but before they cut it, we decided for the one quoted $12 a yd. He got angry, told us to come back next day for it and when asked about the price diff he denied the $12 a yd and said they were both the same price. We got a full refund and left. I stopped by here once as I was looking to replace our old carpet. I found the people to be unfriendly, bordering on rude. Their prices are just OK, but nothing spectacular. There are definitely better flooring stores in the area. I would definitely not recommend this business. read more

What a colossal waste of time. They have a nice showroom. Russ the owner came out to the house to measure and give an estimate. He said I would have the estimate the next day. Two weeks later no estimate. I called and the receptionist said she would have Russ call. No reply. One month out still no reply and many requests for the estimate. It is about six weeks now and still have not heard a word from them. I got someone else. I have never been treated before with such poor customer service. I wish I could give half a star instead of one star. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Russ Tonda's follow through is terrible! I used Tonda Flooring for my whole house (except my office) about 3 years ago. The sales rep at that time was great. I have now tried to contact Tonda flooring to stretch my carpets. For 3 weeks I called and left a message for Russ and he never called me back. (I would think that since I was a good customer, he would have the courtesy to at least return the phone call...and despite that....it's the professional thing to do.) The 4th time I called, Russ happened to be on the other phone with the receptionist, so he called me back. He scheduled a carpet stretching for me on a Saturday morning. I changed my plans for that day and waited at home to have no one show up. I called the store and they told me someone should have called to cancel the appointment. They said I would be called on Monday to get a new time for the appointment. No one called on Monday, so on Tuesday I left a message directly on Russ's phone and explained my frustration. It is now Friday and he never bothered to call me back! This is why I am now writing this bad review about his professionalism. read more
