Came here hungry for breakfast and decided to go with the polish sausage plate as it stated it came with "3 hearty sausages". To my surprise and confusion , it arrived with two sausages. I did a double take on the menu and sure enough, 3 is what the menu stated. When I questioned it, a cook was sent over to our table and explained they need to cut it in half for quicker cooking times, etc, blah, blah, blah. Anyway you look at it, it's not 3!! He still argued his cooking method and couldn't see THAT's NOT 3. He did offer me the managers business card for me to call, so she could explain his math!? French fries topped with chili pastrami cheese lettuce tomatoes And sour cream was a huge mound pure of decadence! I went to Toms this morning for the first time with a couple of my friends. We all ordered the breakfast special that is posted outside the restaurant for $5.99, $6.80 after sales tax....I threw $2.00 bucks into the tip jar next to the cash register. I ordered the eggs (scrambled) with sausage. I was so surprised as too the amount food that I received. The breakfast special included 2 scrambled eggs, 3 sausages, a big pile of hash browns, toast, and a cup of coffee. The food was delivered to our table quickly, was hot, and most importantly it tasted really good. The coffee was good and tasted as if the beans had been recently grounded. I am a big eater and did not finish my food. I took it to go and so did my friends, At Toms you orderat the counter where you pay and get your cup of coffee. You then get a number plaque and a girl delivers the food to your table. Technically they are not waitresses, however the girl came to our table 2 different times and asked if we wanted more coffee and gave us to go boxes. My friends and I had a very positive experience. My friend and I went Mother's Day, late morning. We were both handed carnations. Awesome! That was very sweet of them. Friendly service from the counter order to the end of the meal. I ordered the club sandwich. It was huge! The ham on the sandwich was like a breakfast ham steak - not shaved or sliced like deli meat. The bacon was perfectly crispy. There was a lot of turkey as well. Delicious sandwich. I could only eat half. The fries were good, too. Couldn't eat all of them either. My friend had the BLTA. Lots of crispy bacon. I ordered a chicken and waffle breakfast plate to go online and when I got there, it was ready for pick up so very fast service on that front... The pieces of chicken were huge and the scald on the skin was impeccable- so that is what got the four stars was crunchy goodness-I do wish there was a bit more seasoning on the chicken but that did not stop me from eating it over two days... The waffle was just a waffle and also lacked seasoning as it did not have any flavor and they must have given me the equivalent of three eggs for my scrambled eggs as that lasted for a while so I appreciated the serving size of everything...When I arrived, there weren't a lot of folks in the restaurant, so there would be ample amount of seating for those going in on a weekday morning, and the service was friendly. This used to be the go-to spot for breakfast in Pasadena. My father introduced me to it but sadly it has done down. The food was tasty before, now it just tastes bland. Everything isn't home made, everything is purchased already made (probably restaurant depot). The breakfast burrito doesn't have much meat anymore, all it has it just egg on it mainly. After a third visit, I knew it was time to give this place the 5-Star review that it deserves! I whole heartedly agree with their motto of offering "fast dining made fresh". With every visit I order something different, and here are the commonalities that make me love this place: 1. Service from start to finish is always on target. From the ordering process, to the delivery and cleaning of your table, it has always been professional and accommodating. 2. The menu is so extensive and scrumptious! 3. I wish I could rate them no Stars for the unclean practices with food I just witnessed. It is approximately 1057p on Dec 21 and I just left there. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp Plate and watched them prepare my food. One gentleman was cleaning the stove while the other, skinny in frame, brown skinned cook, prepared my food. This is where is gets disgusting. I ordered the Steak Medium, I watched the cook stick his bare fingers in my Steak not once but three times, then I watched him with the same hand.. put my rice in the microwave..then assist with cleaning the stove, then wipe a counter down, grab my shrimp with the same bare hand, wipe is hand on his pants leg, stick his finger back in my steak, and then serve it to me. Absolutley NO. This is in violation on SO many levels. I will be speaking with the Manager in the morning, and even the Better Business Bureau as well as the City Health Dept. I am so disgusted right now. When I asked for a refund, the lady at the register(dark hair had pigtails wore glasses) looked surprised. And when i told her why,.. she didnt apologize, she asked the guy and he began to tell her something that I couldn't hear. She took my receipt .. then reprinted me another one..(which I thought was odd) and gave me a refund. I will never return here. Came here for a late dinner and the food was great! I ordered the Cheeseburger combo and my sis did as well except with onion rings that were yummy. While it was quiet, we got our food in good time as it was literally made to order which may be why folks have to wait in the drive thru. The gal who served us was super cute and very attentive. Love coming here on my lunch break, easy to get to and a quick drive from the office. They are always super fast and friendly here. Plenty of sitting options but mainly booths, which are for larger groups. PROS: they serve breakfast all day, which is so awesome cause sometimes I have that craving. I usually always get the BLTA and they do not hold back on the avocado, which is always fresh.. it tastes so good. It doesn't come out brown. I also like that they know how to cook fries. They aren't all mushy they are consistent all throughout. They will have staff come around and clean up your trash, and offer your refills.. So this fast food/dinner has some good food, and some monstrous portions! I really like the burgers and other sandwiches I've tried. The dinners are a great value but I'd stick to things they don't take a lot of talent to prepare. I had the steak and shrimp dinner and it's just too much food. The shrimp was good, but the steak is on the lower end of quality. That could've been made up for if it had better seasoning. I ordered it medium rare and it came out closer to just under rare. So I asked them to cook it just a little more and it came back well done and very poorly seasoned. That's what you get when a hamburger cook who was a busy boy last week starts cooking steak. I had the same thing happen with the pork chops I'm sure to have better luck with the fried fish and chicken. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the food is good and you should eat here, but be selective. You order your food up front, then you find your seat. I ordered the Tuna Melt Combo ($9.69) and upgraded the fries to Chili Cheese fries (+ $2.99). I also add 1/2 avocado to my tuna melt... which costs an additional $1.99 (An entire avocado at Whole food costs this much.) The Tuna Melt was meh at best. The sandwich was big, but it was probably the plainest and most unsatisfying tuna melt that I ever had . I felt like I was consuming a lot of calories without even enjoying the meal. The chili cheese fries was the only somewhat redeeming thing that I've purchased... But I guess after having that tuna melt... I think anything would be more enjoyable. Wow, these employees were super nice. I was convinced that if I asked for anything they would have somehow made my wish come true. That being said, there are plasma tvs everywhere so its cool you can watch the game(s) while you eat. Here's how it works, you go to the counter, order your food and they deliver it to your table. I scanned the menu and noted that breakfast was all day and they close @11pm. Very cool. People work late and eat breakfast any time so this place meets that profile. I ordered the pastrami with fries and the wife went with a cheeseburger. We also got hooked up with some milkshakes for opening day! I live nearby and was eager to try out this eatery. I wasn't blown away but it was by no means disappointing. My first visit was the day after their grand opening (which also happened to be the same day Prince died). I was greeted at the door by several people. That was pleasant but the number of people who said hello was a bit too much. However, the greeting may have been because the place was heavily staffed as everyone was training. During my meal I was asked if everything was all right at least 10 times. That was too much for me but I'm certain it was because they just opened and were trying extra hard to be great--especially with their extra staff. As it was early morning, I ordered Tom's Signature Omelette and a 1/2 order of French Toast (breakfast is served all day). The french toast was not as crispy as I prefer but it was nice and the cinnamon was visible and tasty. The omelette was very good and flavorful and far better than what I expected. The veggies inside the omelette were fresh and still a bit crunchy which I really enjoy. It was one of the better omelets that I've had in Pasadena. The accompanying hash browns (you have a choice of side) were plentiful and had a little of the right kind of crunch and were good if not remarkable (not that hash browns are really remarkable anyway). The wheat toast had less butter than I preferred, but I didn't ask for any more on the side as I was already full and didn't take more than one bite. There were jams and jelly packets available at the table. Their goal is apparently to have you not get up once seated and so your food is brought to you after ordering at the counter. Likewise drink refills are handled by wait staff. The food was presented on real ceramic plates--no plastic here. In terms of decor, it was very clean and there's lots of light from the large windows overlooking Walnut Avenue. That being said, I wasn't a fan of the of the auto body shops across the street, but what are you going to do. Parking is plentiful. Drive through ordering is also available. When I'm looking for a quick place to have a nice breakfast in Pasadena and I don't want to fight the crowds at Russell's or Marston's, Tom's is definitely going to be one of my go-to spots. read more

The burritos were 7/10. Lucky Boys on walnut & the other location on Arroyo have better flavor and quantity for the price. The cheeseburger was gross, frozen flavorless patty I give a 3/10. But those Huevos rancheros... 1/10. I've had huevos rancheros plenty of times... They should not have a soft tortilla under the eggs. It should be fried tortilla. I went to Tom's around 11:30 on a Friday and ordered Tom's breakfast burrito, which has bacon, ham, and sausage, as well as onions, peppers, potatoes, eggs, and cheese. I ordered at the counter and the food was out quick once I sat down. The coffee was lukewarm when I got it, which I think was an unfortunate consequence of arriving close to noon. The burrito was hot but watery, to the point where the tortilla was soggy and falling apart due to the puddle of water that accumulated on the plate beneath the burrito. While I like the burrito, it was surprisingly average-tasting for the large amount of ingredients included. The service, as others have said, was absolutely fantastic.
