I was getting a brake job done a a mini cooper . Pretty simple and straight forward . I've been around cars awhile usually do my own brake jobs but I'm away from home . Went to another place up on mcgreggor and that guy gave me some ridiculously quote , when I asked why he is replacing rotors he said "we always replace the rotors when we change pads , it's a liability issue ". Well that's a bunch of bs . Usually you should get 2 pad replacements out of a set of rotors before needing replacement ( unless you're really really hard on your brakes ) . . some places will push new rotors to get higher invoice . Anyway no mention of rotor replacement here at ranger , although I am sure that if when they examined the rotors i and really needed replacement they would have called and told me that . We moved here mid March and pulled a UHaul trailer 19 hours straight from MS loaded down. That…read morecaused my Differential to start leaking on the rear. Turned out to be the pinion seal leaking. I added some fluid but it leaked out every day even with it sitting and not being driven. I called up and spoke with Frank. He told me to bring it on in and I made an appointment. He asked if I needed it back same day! I did not so they started in on it and when they pulled the pinion and it had suffered some grooves in it from being low on fluid. They gave me a price that I was happy with. They ordered the part and it came in the next day and I was able to pick my truck up in the afternoon. I put a price of cardboard under it just Incase but this morning not a drop! Great company and I'm happy o found my new mechanic and it's right down the road.
