Yesterday I went to work with a very very bad tooth pain. I took a lot of ibuprofen and it would not even touch the pain that I was having! My doctor referred me to his dentist which then referred me to Endodontic Practice Associates since they knew I would need a root canal. I called them at 10:30am and the office staff was so kind! They had a cancellation with Dr. Hinckley and were able to fit me in at 3pm. I forgot to tell you I was also in the middle of moving into an apartment as well that day! So in the middle of moving into the apartment Dr. Hinckley was so kind to get me in! He was very nice and very informative! He explained everything that he was going to do before he did it and talked me through everything that he was doing and why he was doing it in the middle of the procedure! He also video taped my root canal and was very nice and let me watch everything that he was doing through the video camera! WOW what detail they have to do! I will never let another dentist do any more root canals! EVER AGAIN!! I will only come and see Dr. Hinckley! Let hope I don't have another one though! Yes it was kind of expensive.... but now knowing what all they have to do it is worth every penny! Thank you so much again for getting me in so quick and being so kind! Anyone who complains about the cost of a root canal need to watch what they do! It is amazing and the detail that they have to go through is crazy!! I will never go anywhere else to get a root canal done ever again! I was also informed my a friend that is in dentist school that dentist should not be doing root canals!! Please if you take anything from this please never ever ever get a root canal done by your dentist! They are not properly trained!!! It is like comparing an electrician doing a plumbing job!! I was not informed of these and I had 2 dentist do root canal. I wish I was informed of this!!!!!

One didnt know what the bony tori in my mouth even was....might need more training. The other didnt care and continued to insist I bite on the x ray film with all my might even when I told her it feels like Im biting on razor blades. She grabbed me by the fat under my chin, shook it and told me that if I would just relax it wouldn't hurt.....you cant relax a bone to my knowledge.My mouth was all torn up by the time I left there. One tech did an additional xray without covering my body with the apron. My mouth hurt for 10 days, but I didnt think too much of it because the xray films were cutting me up. I noticed what I thought was a canker sore on the tori and decided I was going to take off the little white piece because it wasn't healing up..... Lo and behold! It wasn't a canker sore...it was a shard of what was probably tooth material embedded in my gums! Lots of blood came out of the hole and up from my gums under the tooth once I removed it. But man! My mouth felt much better after that! Im sure this isn't the way they typically work, but it was my personal experience. Wish I had a better story to tell!

Over the past year or so, I've had repeated billing issues -- told I had a large credit and owed nothing, only to get a bill the next month, then another for the same amount even after calling to fix it. I also had my worst filling experience here, where the cavity got overfilled, changing it's shape, and ended up getting a much more expensive and painful root canal to fix it. Today was the final straw. I had a 4:00 PM cleaning booked months ago and took time off work for it. At 2:06 PM, while in a meeting, I got a text asking me to confirm because someone else wanted my slot. Fourteen minutes later, they canceled my appointment via voicemail and gave it away -- no warning, no call, no mention of any new confirmation policy, not even the courtesy of enough time to check my phone. In nearly ten years, I've never missed an appointment and have rarely replied to reminder texts (I literally only have record of confirming once out of 4x a year for a decade), so this came out of nowhere. When I called, the manager was dismissive and acted like it was normal and acceptable to cancel a pre-scheduled appointment an hour before, which is absurd and awful customer care. People have jobs and responsibilities. Canceling with less than two hours' notice because someone else wanted the time I already committed to shows no respect or care for patients. Even their billing department takes longer than 14 minutes to return a call. I truly love several of the hygienists and have been loyal for years, but the management's lack of compassion, accountability, and basic customer service skills has made it impossible to recommend this office anymore. If you want a cleaning today, they might bump another patient for you... just don't count on keeping your appointment.
