Went to this dentist for years- over a decade actually. Chelsea always did my cleanings and I was always pretty happy with her. One doctor had left this office and they got a new guy. Ever since then things were different. The last two times I went for a simple cleaning I was charged around $70. First time I was told it was for Xrays. Weird I had to pay out of pocket but I just accepted it. Went back earlier this year and paid MORE than the last time, it was $90 something for just a cleaning!? Then suddenly Renee informs me I'm out of network. Couldn't have told me this before? Especially considering I've been loyal to this office for 10 years?! I called to question it and they said they might've charged me for my DADS exam or something. I haven't been under his insurance in years. Renee was out of office so the girl told me they would call back and refund some of it. This was five months ago. Needless to say that refund never happened. Thanks okc smiles, I won't ever be back. I have never in my entire life been so humiliated, and treated so badly by people that claim to be professionals. In my opinion the treatment that I received was based solely on my skin color. I was talked to like I was not even human I was told one price but was charged another and mind you I paid out of pocket CASH no insurance no payment plans nothing then for the dentures to not even be made correctly. At the initial consultation I was told that permanent dentures were included in my total pricing but when i went to the appointment that was set for them to be made permanent there was a sudden charge, how ?. So not only am I walking around with "healing dentures " and not the permanent ones I was told came with what I paid I now have to go to another dentist and come out additional money to get permanent dentures. So impressed with this place! Our family of 4 (including a 5 and 3 year old) were able to all come in together for exams and cleanings. They were so professional, kind, and patient with my boys. All I can say is, "wow"! This dental office is amazing, from the time you walk in to the time you leave. Let me give you a little background on my teeth....I have always had perfect teeth, until I took the diet pill called Phintermine. After taking Phintermine(5 years ago), I have permanent dry mouth and that can cause tooth decay and other issues. Needless to say I needed a root canal, a tooth pulled and some cavities filled. When I came in this morning I was so scared! They took care of me and my procedure was pain free...yes even getting my tooth pulled was pain free. They really care about YOU as a person. Yolanda was so sweet and grabbed my hand during the difficult part of my root canal, she brought me a blanket and made sure my laughing gas was turned up! I had a great visit to OKC Smiles--and reading through the other reviews, it looks like this business is consistent in providing a really positive experience across the board. The parking was close & convenient, and the cleanliness of the office was one of the first things that immediately struck me. It was immaculate! Carrie greeted me at the front desk, she is so friendly and helpful. They had an emergency client drop in right before I came, and Carrie was so considerate in keeping me informed and apologized for the extra few minutes of wait time. Considering the emergency, they still got me started on my teeth exam and cleaning in good time, and I was finished by the time I had to leave for work. I really appreciated them being mindful & accommodating of my schedule! Cynthia was my dental hygienist, and she had such a friendly and engaging personality. I felt very comfortable with her, we held great conversations, and she did a wonderful job of guiding me through each step of our exam and cleaning. I feel like OKC Smiles is very updated on their dental technology, there were some techniques and equipment that I don't remember my former dentist having. And I can honestly say, after it was all said and done--MY TEETH NEVER FELT SO CLEAN! The cleaning was extremely thorough, but the information they gave me on my x-rays and teeth was also very informative and thorough, as well. When Dr. Phan came in, he went through the anatomy of my teeth with me, which no one has ever done. He helped me understand where my tough areas were to reach, so I know how to brush better. Dr. Phan had a very laid back & gentle personality, and I appreciated his dental knowledge & expertise! The staff, as a whole, really created a good environment. Comments & interactions amongst the staff were really light hearted & joyful. You could tell that everyone really gets along well & enjoys each other, that goes far in facilitating a positive work place, and it is a nice atmosphere to visit. A few additional perks--there were extra toothbrushes in the restroom & chapsticks at the front. These details are thoughtful since I always want to brush before my appointment & my lips tend to get chapped during. Top notch dentistry... I came across OKC Smiles a few weeks ago after receiving a message from Dr. Phan to give them a try. When I first walked into the office, the first thing I noticed was how clean it was. All the buildings in the area all appear to be newly constructed. I was greeted by the receptionist Carrie, and she was very nice, and professional. 5 minutes after filling out the obligatory new patient paperwork, I was called back by dental hygienist Kimberly. As we were running the regular tests, Kimberly explained what she was doing and what to expect every step of the way. For my 2nd appt, Tracy was my dental hygienist for my Zoom whitening. She was the same way. It was apparent that everyone loved their job. I meet Dr Phan a few times as well. He didn't fit the mold of a-hole self-important doc/dentist that I've come to expect. What happened? My first visit w/OKC Smiles, I was so grateful to them for helping me to undo the meanspiritedness and willful neglect of Dr. Ball - an Endodontist in Edmond, OK; gtateful for their cheerfulness, supportiveness, & devotion to the Christian faith;, especially that they were able to save the tooth worked on by Dr. Ball she insisted be pulled. On May 10, I received a phone call asking me to come in right away for my appointment instead of 10:00 a.m. I was driving on the street in front of their office complex & was there in 4 minutes. In spite of that, I had to wait 25 minutes for Dom. Dom, the Hygienst who had been so great previously, was really mean to me this visit, as were some of the other staff but didn't know why. I drove from out of state just to keep my appointment & to keep them as my dentists because I had been so impressed w/them previously. Dom wouldn't check a problem I had been working on with her while under her care. Dom simply guessed at the numbers:w/out taking measurements "Oh, they are all 2's now." She wouldn't talk to me about any concerns I had w/my teeth, which she was well privy to & Dom really threw a big stink when I asked if she would take x-rays or photos of the two teeth I tried to discuss w/her. Dom said she didn't think insurance would allow for x-rays or photos which was not true because I'd just talked to my insurance company minutes before the appointment. In spite of bantering back & forth severel times w/an angry attitude, Dom caved in; took 2 photos which didn't show enough detail of either tooth. On the way out, I asked Renee at the counter if she could e-mail me those photos & asked Renee to write the tooth numbers for the two teeth. When I received the email, Renee made sure she was difficult by not stating the specific tooth numbers; instead, only provided a range of three numbers for each tooth which was bizarre. During the visit on May 10, I told Dom I really liked the dental floss she gave me after the 1st visit. She told me the name of the dental floss, but made sure she did not put any in the goody bag w/the toothbrush & toothpaste. She also did not bother to ask me what day & what time 6 months from now I want to be seen again. She TOLD me when the next appointment will be but did not write it on an appointment card ti hand back to me. I made a special trip back to the OKC Smiles office from Mustang to get those two items. When I was at the office, the reception acted as though they were annoyed to see me again by handing me those things without even looking at me. The office texted a post-visit Survey. Today, I was getting ready to fill out the Survey, but it was accidentally deleted. I called to ask for another Survey. I thought I had a good relationship with Darian who was inctedibly nice previously. Darian texted me something about receiving future messages - which was not what I wanted - so I had to call a 2nd time & ask to resend the Survey. I don't know what the problem is - I had previously given Dr. Mark Phan and the OKC Smiles team a stellar Review for having helped to undo the disaster created by Dr. Ball. I am worried that their sudden unwarranted 180-turn around is due to the influence of Dr. Victoria Ball, DDS; an Endodontist in Edmond, OK (with invasion of the body snatcher tendencies) who makes sure the public only sees 5-star ratings and reviews on her websites but threatens & intimidates employees at the Oklahoma City Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General's office, and the Oklahoma Dental Board keeping them from posting Reviews I wrote about what Dr. Ball did to me on their websites for the public to see. (Dr. Ball refused to provide post-op care instructions in writing or give verbal care instructions, and attempted to time things - like a serial killer - so her work as an endodontist would fail. During the last visit with Dr. Ball, she was gruff and snippy; demanded the tooth be pulled; refused to answer questions & wrote a flaming, defaming letter to to the attending dentist at the time w/extremely personal, catty, insulting remarks & false statements & demanded he pull a tooth that did not need to be pulled at all: God & Dr. Phan are testament to this. read more

Felt mislead and unheard. I went in for a toothache. It had been almost 10 yrs since I had been to the dentist due to a traumatic experience. I went thru this all in depth with the hygienist who went over it with the dentist. They offered a sedation option, where I would be out for the procedure, which I thought sounded good. The next day I took the first pill an hour before the appointment and went in, was given more meds and told I would be out soon. I never felt like I was asleep. A short time later he came and was giving me shots to numb the area, during which I screamed in pain, some of the most painful shots I ever gotten, they also did NOT numb the tooth. At least twice during the procedure I asked for more gas or sedation as I was in extreme pain, and got ignored both times. This was a terrible experience and I felt as though I were never heard or respected and upsold the $380 sedation, which I don't fell helped, since I was in pain until the end and only passed out due to trauma at the end. Amended: I was called back by the dentist the next day to check up and he listened and was genuinely concerned. After going thru things with the dentist, it seemed that I may not have responded to the sedation in the normal manner. He made a heartfelt apology for my experience and did what he could to make it right. Excluding the sedation, which after discussion, I feel my case may have been an exception to the norm, the experience was fine. I will say the entire staff was pleasant and delightful. While I would most likely not opt for the sedation again I go back for regular treatment. read more

As a family we love our new dentist! Boys are 4 and 5 and they ask when can we go back? Hygienists took extra care to make my boys feel special and enjoy their time in the chair or throughout the X-rays. While my wife and I were getting our cleaning we received great advice and the dentist took special time to advise and help us make informed decisions! My wife just got a root canal and she needed extra care for her medical history. They responded to my emails and phone calls quickly and with sincere care! I don't understand why all the positive reviews. I would agree very clean practice, respectful staff. I would agree, friendly, outgoing and courteous staff however they seem like car sales mans. Trying to butter you up, sale you a product and overcharge your insurance. I went to 5 different dentist and this company by far told the worst. Dentist stated teeth to be removed, cavities to be filled, my crown had to be redone, etc. I just don't see how this company can operate ethically and with integrity. Beware read more

Was in town for a friend's wedding and cracked my tooth at the banquet on a lobster shell. The locals at my table recommended OKC Smiles, and I'm glad they did. Called ahead and they saw me right away when I explained to them my situation. Dr. Phan was very friendly and informative. Gave me my options of crown or extraction and the pros and cons. I'm really glad he gave me all the information and allowed me to make the decision. Not pushy at all like other dentists I've seen. It really felt like he wanted the best for my tooth and I wasn't just another dollar sign. I went with the crown. He even introduced me to invisalign. I was always curious about invisalign and he answered all my questions. Unfortunately, I live in Vegas, or I'd definitely get that. I'd definitely recommend this place. Great Place and more importantly Great People at OKC Smiles!! I woke with a painful wisdom tooth and started calling around to try to get in to see a dentist close to where I now live. After 3-4 failed attempts to get an appt at other places, I decided to check YELP and came across OKC Smiles and they had really good reviews (now I know why!) I called up and spoke to Jennee at around 10:30am and she had me an appointment at 12:15..Thank you Jennee!! I go in at noon and walk up to check in and I'm greeted immediately by Jennee and she remembers my name which was impressive. I fill out some paper work and off I go to get checked out. Jennee takes me back to see Gina (Boomer Sooner ) and explains to Gina what issues I'm having with my wisdom tooth and Gina goes to work, she takes a look at the bad tooth and then we get some X-rays to see what's going on. Gina brings in Dr. Murray to take a look at the tooth/X-rays and we talk about the the problems and determine the best thing to do is to pull it. Dr. Murray was concerned because of a facial nerve that is really close to that tooth and he made sure to numb that area really good so I wouldn't be in pain. He starts to pull the tooth and is checking with me to make sure there is no pain through out the procedure. All goes well and I even get a phone call later that evening from Dr. Murray to check on me. Thanks Gina & Dr. Murray!! This all happened on Thursday and I'm writing this on Saturday morning and I thought I would have a lot of pain afterwards, and I filled the prescriptions Dr. Murray gave me, but didn't need more than the ibuprofen. Needless to say OKC Smiles is where I'm going to get all my my dental work done from now on!! I even made an appt for a check up and cleaning before I left. I never thought I'd be able to have a truly great experience at a dentist's offices...I mean, come on, it's the DENTIST...and especially not if that experience included having a tooth pulled. OKC Smiles proved me wrong. I called them on a Monday morning in a lot of pain. My tooth had shattered late Friday night, so I'd spent a pretty miserable weekend. Their front desk woman, Renee, was super friendly and sympathetic on the phone, and fit me right in for later that morning. When I got there, they were just as friendly in person as on the phone, and my wait in the lobby was relatively short before they took me to the back. Once I was in the chair, the one thing that happened that made this experience a 4 star instead of a 5 was, after checking my gums, they started talking about some sort of gum therapy involving lasers? While that therapy may be perfectly lovely, they also made it very clear it wasn't something insurance covers and it was uncomfortably obvious for a moment that the dental hygienists are instructed to up sell patients. They were kid and backed off quickly after I said I couldn't afford that, however. The doctor was nice (although it seemed like she might still be an intern) and they got me taken care of as quickly as one can take care of ripping a tooth from your head. The front desk women were where I was once again really blown away, however, because when they informed me that my insurance was being difficult about paying any amount, she was very, very kind and got the exam/cleaning comped so I only had to pay for the tooth being pulled, and talked about my options going forward, financially. They were even great with follow up, and when I had to call in the next day when pain, they took care of calling in a prescription for me immediately, and checked on me a few days later. So while I wish all of Yelp great big shiny smiles forever, if that doesn't work out, I definitely recommend checking out OKC Smiles. read more

Awesome experience at OKC Smiles, I highly recommend this dentist office to anyone! It's in a complex with several medical buildings/offices so it actually took me a few minutes to find it and I walked in a few minutes late. The staff working at the desk were super understanding and so friendly! I hadn't been to the dentist in 4/5 years just because I wasn't having any pain or issues, and I was a little nervous about getting back on track. I first saw hygienist Gina, she was really nice and made me feel totally comfortable and at ease. I felt like she really listened to my questions or concerns, genuinely cared and made me feel better about it. By the time the dentist came in (I think Dr. Murray) I wasn't nervous at all. They went over x-rays and everything with me, just a few cavities, and talked about what I needed to do to keep my gums healthy. I left making follow up appointments with Renee who was very helpful, friendly, and laid out the costs. I wouldn't say it's on the cheap side, but I would say it's so worth it to have quality dental care.
