After 1-2 years of debating with the wife on what kind of counter top to put on our desk in the study, we finally decided to just match the granite in the kitchen (Uba Tuba black with bullnose). I then started the calling process to setup appointments to come look at the customizations I need. I needed 2" holes in 3 spots and I have a 1 inch extension in the middle of the desk. Come to find out many of the granite establishments don't come out to do an estimate anymore. Well, that's inconvenient for me. They want you to come to their show floor so they up-sale you on all kinds of crap. Yeah, no. I emailed Tomball Granite and got Jeff. We arranged an appointment for him to come and see what I need. He showed up on time, was cordial, got all the measurements, and we went over what I needed. No problem. Within 2 business days (I think it was 2 mornings later) I got a quote in my inbox and it was very agreeable. Next thing was I had to go out to their yard to approve of the slab, which they do so that when it arrives I know what I'm getting and whatnot... I would've gone out later that day I got the quote to look at the slab to approve it, but it was raining so I went two days later when it was dry. Everything was set. Mike and Tom showed up to install the cut granite at the agreed time/date, pretty cool brothers who've been in the granite business in Houston since Jesus was riding dinosaurs, not to mention their father was in the granite business as well. They were very nice. I'm a naturally extremely curious person so while they were installing my granite I asked a thousand questions which they answered honestly and didn't seem irritated at all because of my questions. So, bonus. They were done in a reasonable amount of time (even with my questions). The Wife and I are so very happy with the installation and materials used. If I know anyone in the Area looking for granite I will be referring them to Tomball Granite and Marble. 10/10 read more
