"Oh, Mickey…read more.. You're so fine! You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!" Mickey Hargitay Plants is the coolest little big plant store, plant nursery, garden center and serene landscaping places I've ever seen. From the pure vibrant vibes to the incredible staff that make this gem thrive. Tucked away in Hollywood on the cusp of West Hollywood off of Sycamore Ave and Fountain Avenue, just a small skip east from La Brea Avenue. They're open from 9 AM until 5:30 PM all 7 days of the week. And carry plants, planters, gardening essentials and wonderoud things of all shapes and sizes. I've been passing by frequently for nearly two months on my way to work usually before they're open or after they're closed on as I make my way home and finally got to stop in and explore. That wave of calm, relaxation and vibrance that being around nature and all it's planty goodness lives here in abundance. Explore in person, place orders for pick up or even delivery. Mickey Hargitay has a rich history to match it's ambiance since it's birth in 1980, starting off with succulents, cacti and their own macrame designs Voted one of the best places to buy plants in 2015. Featured in the L.A. Times in 2016. Featured in Voyage LA in 2021. Not to mention a great spotlight in 2025. Founded and owned by Mickey Hartigay Jr. a fellow Sag and plant lover like myself. He and every single person here is a gem, I picked up on nothing but good energy even after the end of a long day and rainy weekend everyone here does their best to bring a slice of joy to each person. Ringing up my assortment right as they were closing they still didn't miss a beat. Hoping to stop in a lot more (scheduling pending) and get to know everyone, find more plants for the house as well as a new plant for my boyfriends place of even bring him in to explore. Pup friendly. Family friendly And very much open to all. Recently started following their Insta and I'm "obsessulated!" Easy parking in the neighborhood, street parking primarily or an easy stroll in closeby, riding the metro or parked off La Brea. Four new very healthy plants in various sizes for under $20... Insert all the heart eyes and plant emojis here!!

This was a 30 minute drive for me but that's nothing when it comes to enjoying a walk through some awesome plants. There isn't much parking and you have to find a spot on the street. Upon entering the property you are consumed with lush and rare greenery. I found many sought after plants and they were priced accordingly. There are many areas in their outdoor area as well as inside the greenhouse. Most plants have a price on the pot of on a tray if there are multiples. There is also a pottery shop although I didn't go in there. I could have easily left with a car full of plants but was able to exercise restraint and only left with a sweet Hoya Polyneura. Hope you enjoy my photos!

Not sure why I waited so many years to write a review but here it is : their selection is great and love how clean and organized it is. You know exactly where everything is and the staff here make your visit a good one from arriving and getting you checked out. Even when there is a line the gentleman is very quick and efficient to see what you have tally it up and then you go pay and packs you stuff up and then you are on your way out. Their selection of flowers, fruit trees, succulents and roses and just everything for your garden or in home plants are all here. A few years back we got some fruit tree's and they are still thriving and that makes me so happy so the quality is great and amazing prices and way better than Home Depot in my opinion. Where you pay they have everything you could possibly need to start a garden, nutrients, fertilizer, food for your plants, trellis, pots and even more. They even have quality seeds as well. It's a well rounded Nursery and YES we travel 30 minutes to just come here. When you find a great place the drive doesn't matter. Thanks for always making our experience a great one!

Jimmy is one hardworking dude, I see him there all the time. This plant spot is great for small gifts like a $10 plant or a thousand dollar Australian tree! They're pretty amazing and he has a great selection. Parking is not that hard. Just drive up college street towards Jade Wok and there's plenty of metered parking north of hill street. That's a 3 min walk. Or try the lot by Bruce Lee statue ($5) or get a slice at La Sorteds and park in their $5 lot. Or go to the atm across the street at Bank of America and get validated. So many options. Of course, make it a day and get a slice of strawberry cake from the famous Phoenix Bakery and latte from Thank You Coffee.

**OK INDOOR HOUSE PLANT SELECTIONS IN CHINATOWN**…read more After eating at nearby Broadway Cuisine, we wandered into this garden shop while exploring the area. PARKING There are nearby lots, but we had street metered parking. Most likely limited, especially on weekends. AMBIANCE A typical Broadway storefront in the heart of Chinatown. The space is airy and bright, with natural light filtering in from above. PLANTS I purchased a 12" watermelon peperomia for $40. They didn't have the fiddle-leaf fig I was hoping to find. Credit cards are accepted. The overall plant selection is decent, and everything looked healthy. OVERALL The staff was pleasant but hands-off, not informative unless you ask. I didn't receive care instructions until I was practically out the door. Pricing leans medium-high (but reasonable), so this isn't a budget-friendly stop, but the quality is solid, and it's nice to support a local, family-owned business.

We had our hands full with leftovers, the boy, and the dog so we were firmly in the browse zone. Then Vik jumps in the mix, calls the boy kiddo and asks if he wants to pet some fish. At this point, I'm intrigued and want to see where this goes, and you know what? He pet some of the koi fish in the pond, I have to admit I haven't seen that before (Kiddo was too scared to try). But THEN he starts telling us about these two plants next to the pond -- Mexican Mint and Sage -- and how their smell repels mosquitos. Kiddo has a huge bug bite on his leg, so the sale was pretty much instant. I planted them in my backyard this afternoon. So, this four star review is a five because of Vic and his kid charming skills. Four stars is because I wish they had a few more native options, but I'll go back because Vik made the experience.

We hired them for a full backyard Reno with full wall of ficus trees, full DG backyard with gravel edges, and a wood fence. Everything was going smoothly with scheduling and communication. When the actual work got started, I noticed the DG was not high-quality. It contained a lot of large rocks. Also, they were not digging out enough dirt before laying the DG. I had to bring that up to the foreman and they did dig up some more dirt before laying the DG. When the work was done, a foreman did a quick walk-through with me and I thought everything looked good. We were told not to walk on the wet DG for a day or two. So two days later when I did a better inspection, I started to notice a lot of shotty work. Specifically with the bender board dividing the gravel and I noticed that they used really small nails for the wooden fence. They did come back a month later to fix the DG because there were areas that were "bouncy", as if not enough DG was laid down. They had to dig up big rocks that were preventing the DG from compacting and they laid more DG on some areas. They also tried to fix some bender board problems, but they did a really horrible job. Three months later, some wood planks on our wood fence start curving and popping up. I called the company because our DG and our fence are under a year warranty. Jake asked me to email him with photos and he said he would call back to schedule a day for repair. Since then I have not heard back from them; they have completely ghosted me. I waited a month then I started calling and no one will pick up the phone. I've left messages and I sent text messages to project manager, Amanda, who was great at communication at first, but now has completely ghosted me as well. Meanwhile, we're still paying monthly for this backyard that is falling apart way too quickly. I'm going to just hire someone to fix the fence before it damages further. I would not recommend them again. Completely overpriced for what you get.
