Good news: special grilled blackened mahi mahi tasty, fresh, and tender. Sushi rolls (Alex, Cameron, Spicy Crunchy Tuna) a tiny bit above average of better Chinese restaurants Drinks: variety of tasty treats. Banana cream pie: ohhhhh soooo good. The bad news: soup allegedly was a combined Corn/fish chowder: lots (too much) of corn and could not find the fish. The chicken Parmesan was the biggest disappointment... dry and tough... ugh! In summary service (Charlie) earned an extra star. Otherwise, did not meet reputation and price standards.

Great experience! First tine here, you definitely need reservations. The me u is extensive. Our waitress Amber was knowledgeable. Place is large and when you enter you see the sushi being made fresh. We opened with the grilled octopus it was incredible. Highly recommend if in Margate

Tomatoes is an awesome restaurant located bay front in Margate City, NJ. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant & it was easy to find a spot during the holidays, but this place gets super busy in the summer. Their menu is very eclectic with options ranging from American classics to healthy salads & a full sushi menu as well! Ambiance is fun & energetic with live music & a great bar area that's separate from the main dining room. I had the Ginger Cosmo & the Lycheetini to start off the evening. Both were fabulous, but the Lycheetini is on the sweeter side. The Alex roll was very fresh and flavorful. The Chop Chop was one of my favorite salads recently because their Russian dressing is made in house and super tasty. The star of the evening was the Euro Chicken. The skin was perfectly crispy & the meat was oh so tender. They use Mary's Organic chicken which is another plus & it paired so wonderfully with the truffle mac n cheese & broccolini. I can't wait to go back! Service was stellar too!

This was my first time hearing of Tomatoes. We went on a Saturday night with my girlfriend's family. Our reservations were at 7:00 and we arrived a little early to have a drink at the bar. It was busy (which to me is a good sign) so I'd definitely recommend reservations. It was also a classier restaurant so I would also recommend to dress on the nicer side. I started with a gin dirty martini and she had an espresso martini. The dirty was very good. The espresso was above average, but we've had better and worse. I wasn't really a fan of the martini glasses, but that's nothing to be dissatisfied over. We were seated at a large round table in the middle of the dining floor. There were 7 of us and the seats were spaced out pretty far so we had lots of room at the table. Brittany, our server, was outstanding. She was attentive, friendly, made great suggestions, knowledgeable, and checked in frequently but was not overbearing. The bread was served with whole cloves of roasted garlic in oil! Garlic is my favorite so this made me very happy. We split some appetizers to start - Grilled Baby Spanish Octopus, Ceviche, Burrata. I think the Octopus was phenomenal and the star of the entire meal. Was perfectly grilled, crispy, tender, and the texture was great. The ceviche was fresh and citrusy. I didn't have any of the burrata but all of the food went and everyone had positive things to say about each dish. For dinner we decided to pick a bunch of specialty rolls of sushi to split between everyone. My girlfriend's mom got the flounder special they had that night and loved it. The sushi was all fresh and the presentation looked great. I wasn't able to get a picture before it was picked through. I also had a Pomegranate martini. I enjoyed it and would recommend it if you like sweeter drinks. If not, I would pick something else. My girlfriend had an Aperol Spritz and really liked it. We finished up with some coffee and desserts. Each of the couples split a dessert. My girlfriend's cousin and her fiancé along with me and my girlfriend each split chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream. The cookies were warm and soft, and the ice cream was served in a cookie bowl. My girlfriend's parents split carrot cake. The slice was large and the cake looked delicious. Very enjoyable experience to say the least. Service was great. Sushi was very good as was all of the food. If I do visit again (which is only an IF because I live an hour away - not because I didn't approve) I would definitely order the octopus again. I would order a dinner instead of sushi just to try something else on the menu. Something I was not expecting: as it got later it went from a classy dinner restaurant to almost like a nightclub with a DJ that drew a younger crowd and dancing. We were finishing up with dessert at this time so it didn't bother me but I wouldn't have felt the same if I was still eating dinner.

This restaurant is our go-to in the area. Nothing too fancy that makes it a "special" event type of place, but one you can go to for a casual lunch, or a really nice dinner. We went back for NYE this year and wife got a delicious steak with a brown sauce and mushrooms, cooked perfectly medium. I had a couple special sushi rolls and the lobster bisque. Everything was delightful, and the place was decorated very tastefully for NYE. This is why it's been our go-to. The drinks we had were excellent as well. Both at the table and at the bar.

So! I really had a great experience. I haven't been in 10 years or so, was excited to return (and was my birthday dinner!) The food is spectacular! The service is phenomenal. Really white table cloth type good. I had the cod special, it was phenomenal. So good I couldn't get a picture before I ate it. We also started with the grilled octopus and a rainbow roll..,, both melt in your mouth. Heidi Is a fantastic server. It's super busy and sometimes kids so you need to factor that in but nothing we can do about that. Go to tomatoes!

I've only been to Tomatoes at night and via Uber, so I had no idea this place is practically on the water. Literally, the Intercoastal is right across the street. I'd love to see the daytime view someday! Their cocktail menu is pretty extensive, and their food menu is quite eclectic. You can order anything from pasta to sushi to burgers to steaks. This is ideal when dining with others who are all over the place with their cravings. This last visit, we ordered up a slew of sushi rolls for the table. Presentation was pleasing, and our server was on top of it. We had her hopping with drink orders (and reorders) and she didn't skip a beat. No sitting by the bar (thanks COVID, love ya!) but we had a nice high table in the vicinity. It made us feel as though we were experiencing a bar-like setting. Reservations are highly encouraged during the pandemic. Social distancing was on point, and everyone was mask-compliant (over the nose). Tomato it up!

Large enough for a meal with side of miso soup -- which was chuck full of micro-diced tofu and greens. Another table someone ordered the gorgeous Sweetheart Roll -- served in composed heart shapes. Ambitious, she'd ordered that and another specialty roll so more than half or each went home with her. The bento box her husband ordered looked very large but an added side of veggies was called for as barely any but a garnish worth in the box. I hear they have some dessert items but didn't see anyone with room enough to order anything. For the non-sushi lovers in your party, there are many chicken or beefy hibachi offerings. Very limited seating so reserve, go early, or do take away. They moved things around to accommodate my recent solo visit for dinner at 7pm on a Monday. I was headed back to Philly after this last Ventnor dinner so I ordered a Rainbow Roll to go. I didn't want the experience to end. I enjoyed half of it for lunch next day. The rest for dinner with large homemade salad. It had been packed tight and stayed fresh in my fridge. Oh, sure, I want to return to the shore for sun, swimming, and friends but mostly I can't wait to eat here again! How did I not know about it?!

I ordered miso soup to start, and you really can't go wrong with that. For my appetizer, I ordered the Sushi Pizza. The waitress recommended it, and I personally think they absolutely knocked it out of the park. It had a crispy base topped with fresh sashimi and a delicious aioli sauce. It wasn't flimsy, soggy, or falling apart, it was perfectly crunchy and absolutely delicious. Definitely a big portion I had to take half to go but I don't mind! For my main course, I ordered the Triple Delight Sashimi. I'm very picky when it comes to sashimi, and the quality here was fantastic. The slices were thick, fresh, and simply melted in your mouth. My boyfriend ordered the veggie tempura and couldn't stop talking about how much he enjoyed it. It looked crispy and smelled delicious. I'm pretty sure I spoke with the owner, who was an extremely nice lady. She came over to refill our water and see how we were enjoying our meal, which really added to the experience. I forgot the name of the cake I ordered, but it was sweet, simple, and light, a perfect way to end my meal. I love this place so much. I asked ChatGPT where I should go for sushi, and it recommended Rainbow for its prices, portions, and because it was one of the most highly raved-about spots. ChatGPT didn't lie! I'll definitely be spreading the word about Rainbow and how great the food and overall experience were. If you're craving quality sushi without breaking the bank, make the drive. It's on a cute little street, and you won't regret it. I'll definitely be coming back every time I visit Atlantic City!

We got there and it looked, calm, simple, and plain from the outside - until we walked in... this place was PACKED! Clearly, since we didn't make reservations, we weren't going to enjoy seating at their white table cloth tables in the main dining room, but we went around back to their bar and scored one last table there. Our server, Brian was amazing... engaging... and on point! They have a nice wine list and perfect spirit list. They also have an outstanding menu loaded with so many options, that I really just needed to settle on the first thing I saw that looked good. For me, I love cucumbers and when I saw they had a cucumber salad, done Asian style, I was completely in!!! Then I saw their soup of the day was split pea with bacon and since no one serves split pea and when they do, it's rarely what I expect, I got that too! Both of these came out looking GREAT! The cucumber salad had a nice spice to it and the flavors overall were sooo on point! That split pea soup was also great... almost perfect! It had the exact texture this soup should have and the flavor was very nice. For my entrée I saw a few of the halibut as I was walking through the dining room, so that is what I chose. The halibut came out looking great! It was PERFECTLY prepared too!! The flavors were spot-on, and the accompanying veggies were great too. We were enjoying dinner so much that we didn't want it to end, even though we were full... so, we ordered desserts too. I opted for the banana cream pie, as this is another item I rarely see on a menu and when I do, it's rarely done right, but not here... they did it perfectly! Overall, amazing meal...
