I like ordering food via DoorDash from this restaurant. The pastas are packed in microwave safe containers that can be reused for other meal preps. The pizza comes in the typical cardboard pizza boxes so it doesn't usually keep the food warm during deliveries. We have to heat it up a little before enjoying. The Pan Seared Salmon is so crispy on the outside; absolutely my favorite! They were really generous with the capers in the Sole Picatta if you like that. The cheese they use on the pizza is high-quality. This is the only place I know that offer apples as a pizza topping. read more

The restaurant seems to have a staffing issue. The food is fabulous, but they need to keep the same serving staff long enough to know the rules. Bartenders change often & now the manager is changing again. The saving grace is the chef Luis - he is 5 stars. He makes each customer feel special & his food is always delicious. Go back home and make your own Italian dinner! For years, I passed on by and thought it was going to be mediocre and it surely was! It was mediocre and over-priced! I don't think I will return. The place was much larger than I expected. It got busy quickly. I came earlier for dinner and wanted something different. They didn't have many good seats for one so I sat close to the bar. The staff are attentive and pay attention to you to attend you well. I tried the potatoes with Gorgonzola cheese, "salad" with burrata, tomatoes, and strawberries, and a small cup of clam chowder. I wanted to give them a try. It did not meet my expectations. The only good dish was the little cup of clam chowder. The dishes that should be off the hook, well-done, elegant, and well-sized were not! Potatoes Gorgonzola were literally an incredibly oversized plate of seasoned criss-cross french fries with melted cheese on the bottom. No one there knows how to execute an excellent burrata salad! Do the cooks, head chef, and manager not try the food they make? The "salad" had a small bit of sour tomatoes, a few pieces of crappy flat bread as "crostini," four small strawberries surrounding the burrata, some drizzles of balsamic glaze, too much lousy olive oil, and a bit of basil pesto and basil. The port I had was good but served in a glass best reserved for ice wine because that is expensive. My low rating is for the poor taste and quality of the ingredients, ridiculous sizing for dishes, and improper execution of cooking. read more

Here's the thing: I eat here often, and love it. Last night, we did not love it. We often order Chicken Fettuccine Tequila. We ordered two big orders of it last night and it was the first time it was so spicy it was almost inedible. We are begging the chef: please ask the customer how spicy they'd like their food. Maybe err on the side of mild unless the customer asks for super spicy? We didn't eat most of our dinners and were sad that our pasta was not as delectable as it usually is. It was the table we had wanted as it was the only one left that you could view the baseball and basketball games. My wife and i stopped going to Tomato Thyme. This was our go to spot for many years. A few years back, before covid. It seemed there was a carousel of managers coming and going. And eventually, service and food, IMHO suffered because of it. We decided last night to give it another shot. It was fun sitting at the bar our favorite bartender was there, she has been there a long time. Food was excellent, (didn't get any bread to start like we used to). Really good Caesar Salad, light dressing but flavorful. My wife has a small salad and we split the penne pasta pesto with chicken. This was really good. We would order that again. However there is another issue. They stopped draft beers some months ago and for some reason haven't fixed the issue. Bottle beer is all they offer now. On Tap beer is always better, fresher than bottles. Are they cheaping out??? Come on Holly and John, can you fix it so we can have beer on tap again? read more

DEVOLSON (Dark, Evil Vortex of Late September, October, November - the busiest, craziest, and saddest time for teachers) is no joke! Heck, the months of January through May should be added! I guess DEVOLSONJFMAM is too long and DEVOTSY (Dark, Evil Vortex of the School Year) is not as catchy. Our insane schedule consists of adjunct duties, and for me this year was to organize a Holiday Staff Party. No ONE had the energy to celebrate before the Christmas break, we just wanted to run home and sleep....so our holiday party happened in February. I asked around for venues that could accommodate 20-25 people and I was overwhelmed by so many responses. My ears perked up when my coworker said, "How about Tomato Thyme?" I have NEVER heard of Tomato Thyme! I haven't noticed any check-ins from my peeps nor have I seen them bookmark this restaurant. I was surprised to hear they've been open for 13 years. I looked at the pics on Yelp, checked out their menu online, then I called the manager, Bryan G, and he helped me get the ball rolling. He responded quickly to my emails and phone calls, made my organizing easier! I was a bit nervous inviting a bunch of people to a place where I have never tried the food but I'm glad I took a risk! There were three orders of: Fried cheese ravioli - I do not like ravioli but I was a big fan of this...most likely because it's deep fried in garlic, butter, and parsley. Calamari - I liked how it was a little salty! Cheesy Bread Stix - I would order this again but I wish the mozzarella and parmesan had a little more punch, it was almost bland. Maybe because my mouth was still on fire from the buffalo wings! Buffalo Wings - I'm not a fan of spicy food but the wings were more enjoyable after drowning it in ranch dressing...or was it blue cheese?! Mad props to our server, Alex! He handled our big group very well. Drinks were flowing from left to right and the appetizers were evenly spread out in a timely manner. This is my second time having lunch here. Wait staff were attentive even though the restaurant was crowded. I ordered the sole with risotto and it was fantastic both times. Wines by the glass were a reasonable price. We were able to converse leisurely without ever feeling rushed. This is a perfect spot for a long lunch with great food. Haven't eaten there in a few years so we thought we'd try it. I had a caesar salad, yummy and my entree was fettuccine alfredo. It was pretty good, just lacked flavor a bit. Could have used more cheese in the sauce. My husband had the linguine with clams, it too lacked flavor, my brother had ravioli with short rib sauce. I had high expectations for some good Italian food so thought chicken Marsala would be a great choice. It wasn't! Firstly, no salad with a $25 entree, but almost $8 for a side salad, waited for the bread which was supposed to be coming out of the oven, but it was cold when we got it. My wine was a Chardonnay not the Merlot I asked for so had to wait for that. What happened to garlic bread in an Italian restaurant? No water refills! The chicken Marsala had no Marsala wine in sauce, but was some kind of brown gravy with mushrooms that were so finely slivered, maybe a half of a mushroom was in the gravy. Some penne pasta was on the plate, no sauce on the pasta, and vegetables that were barely cooked, very raw! Told the waiter after one bite it was not a Marsala sauce, but he wasn't too interested. I didn't want to return it because I was hungry, ate the chicken which was edible, but I had to shower it with salt and pepper. They have more seating in this enclave that has multiple TVs. We watched the warrior's game on the large screen. The meals were generously portioned. I got the chicken wings to share and the chicken tequila pasta for myself. I was able to finish about half of the food and was very satiated. I should have been born an Italian because I am a serious fatty when it comes to pasta. This place is now a favorite for the hubby and I! My husband tried the lamb shank and I had the chicken fettuccine. Both of our dishes were delicious, even my little one enjoyed the asparagus we got! I don't remember the name of our waitress, but she was super sweet and was always checking up on us to make sure we were doing well. The atmosphere of this place is welcoming, but extremely loud because of the bar they have & I wasn't much of a fan of the fact that their kitchen is right in the middle of the restaurant.
