    Penne Bolognese

When we were visiting family in Los Gatos, we had to go back to Aldo's as it is that great. It is a favorite of my brother's and it is obvious why. The food and service is perfect, and yet it simply laid out inside that you feel extremely comfortable. I had a half order of the Penne Bolognese and it was very tasty. Our daughter split the Cavatelli with my brother. Very good and lots of flavor. Our sister-in-law had a Calamari Steak which was prepared Piccata style...also very good. The salad before our meals was gorgeous and also very flavorful. Our server Layla was a gem. So friendly and efficient. We will be back the next time we visit our family.

A very good Italian restaurant! My wife was craving Italian food, and after consulting Yelp, we decided on Aldo's Cafe. We had a great dinner here enjoying the delicious food. My wife tried the Lasagna ($23), which she found to be great. I was looking for a low-carb option (hard to do in an Italian restaurant). Our waiter recommended Involtini Melanzana (rolled eggplant) from the special menu ($24.50). This delicious dish had several rolls of eggplant around a great filling and covered with a wonderful sauce. (And no carbs!). Vegetables were included. The waiter served fresh grated Parmesan cheese for our entrees. The service was great and staff friendly and helpful. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with large photographs of Italy. We were seated next to one showing rooftops of old buildings that was fascinating to look at all the detail (and to see satellite dishes on top of old rooftops!).

We tried this place for the first time, and everything was great! The complimentary bread has great taste & texture; oil & balsamic vinegar is provided at the table. We started with the spinach salad in a Dijon dressing with candied nuts and tomatoes; it was very good. My daughter had the chicken marsala, which was excellent. My husband had the tortellini pasta in tomato cream sauce with ham & peas, and it was great. My salmon fettuccini in vodka sauce turned out to be my daughter's favorite, so we did a bit of trading. :) We shared the tiramisu for dessert, and it was great! The service was wonderful all around. I'm glad we found this restaurant. I am sure we will be back.

Aldo,s was recommended by friends, and what great recommendation. We had an early dinner, we got there at 5:00, we were greeted by a very nice young lady, we were given water and bread right away. She came back to see if we had questions, then took our order. We soon after got our order, they offered cheese, refilled our bread , water and refilled our olive oil and balsamic. The cavatelli was cooked to perfection, it had tomato's , spinach and sausage. A very fresh and tasty dish. My husband had the chicken parmigiana, I had to taste it, juicy and tender yet slightly crispy on the outside, with mozzarella and delicious delicate red sauce on top. And fresh sautéed spinach on the side. Oh another thing the bread is delicious, I asked if it was made in house, he said yes it's made daily. It's a small cafe, but very beautifully decorated and with an Italian ambiance. But one thing that resonates with me was the staff, everyone was so friendly and then way they greeted their guests was like family, this is difficult to find these days. A must try!

My new GO TO place for Italian cuisine! This place has been around for awhile, but recently I remembered it as I was craving Italian food to celebrate my birthday with a friend. The salads were what I remembered with fondness as the vegetables are so FRESH snd seasonal. You can tell they know how to source the best ingredients. The pasta was so perfectly cooked, sauces were on point and chicken was tender. The pizza was also thin crust as I like it, toppings were new to me, but they worked! We ended with tiramisu dessert to celebrate. AMAZING!! The decor was all photos of Italy and places that brought back memories for my friend, who traveled to Italy. The ambience is refined, but not stuffy. I highly recommend this place! Since it's popular among the locals, best to call ahead and make a reservation.

Aldo's is close to where I live and I have been meaning to go here for a while now. Also interesting to note that they have another location not too far from here on the same street. We were here for dinner last night and had a good experience. The staff was friendly and professional. They only have wine and beer (only Peroni) and I had a nice tall glass of the Peroni. I also had the mozzarella Caprese, the pizza with prosciutto and gorgonzola, and the chocolate tartufo. Everything was decent, not amazing and not bad.

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2018 Aldo's Cafe is a family favorite. I came here for lunch with our family priest recently. The parking lot is tiny and so are the parking spaces- so be aware. It's located in the same shopping center as Fidelity and Starbucks. The footprint of the restaurant is small and the tables tend to be close together. They have new lighting fixtures which are really pretty. It's definitely a locals favorite and kind of off the beaten path so to speak. We both ordered iced teas. Giuessepi was our waiter- super friendly and attentive as usual. We were given bread which we had with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the bread was baked to perfection crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our family priest had a spinach salad with salmon which he loved (it was super fresh the greens and the salmon looked amazing). I had the margherita pizza which was giant - it was delicious but it wasn't like there normal margherita pizza I'm used to (tomato sauce with rounds of fresh mozzarella) their version is shredded cheese over the entire pizza, the tomato sauce and cheese were outstanding. Our iced teas were refilled without needing to ask for more. Great customer service (Giusessepi is authentically kind to all his customers) and delicious food make this a winner in my Yelp Notebook :) Noelle's Notes Reservations strongly recommended as it's a popular spot among locals. Friendly and good customer service Fresh and delish food

The carbonara was amazing--served super hot with great flavor and a solid amount of meat. Easily a 10/10. One tip though: eat it while it's hot, because once it cools down, it's not quite the same. The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? This didn't have that at all. Another 10/10. The pesto pasta (a special that day) was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too oily, and the pesto flavor didn't really come through. They added ricotta, which kind of overpowered everything else. I did like the portion and the amount of meat, but overall I'd give it a 7/10. The ambiance was decent--nothing too special, but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. It felt like a family-run place--three brothers along with their wives and kids--and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. The portions and quality justify the price, and it stands out as one of the better Italian spots in the Bay Area.

The Chicken Marsala was just right, not overcooked and loaded with mushrooms and string beans on a bed of puréed mashed potatoes. The Watermelon & Crispy Pork Belly salad was different from any salad I've ever had. There was a soft bacon-like quality to the pork belly cubes and the watermelon had been seared and seasoned. The Limoncello Martini was a bit vodka-forward but good. I organized a company holiday dinner there a couple years ago and their manager was very accommodating. Apparently they opened the restaurant for us on an evening that they are normally closed. But there were 3 or 4 other parties seated nearby so we didn't have the entire place to ourselves which was fine but a little surprising. I tried the massive Tomahawk Steak while other people ordered their polenta dishes and Scallop Risotto. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and had a memorable night. To be honest, when I opened the menu, I thought the price was a bit on the high side, and didn't expect to like it in the "worth it" scale. But hey, for a higher price, they better deliver on the food quality! It most certainly disappoint. The food was amazing. Got the Linguini Fruti Di Mare, the seafood was good quality, the cioppino sauce was intense. It truly is the boss of the sauce. Also ordered the Chicken Marsala, I'm always cautious before ordering because the marsala wine can easily become overwhelming, or the sauce is too sour, or the chicken is tough and dry. I did not hit any of those, but rather, what I got was a few silky smooth and tender pieces of flattened chicken breasts, that is moist and flavorful. The sauce is great too, not to mention the mushroom, that is so fresh and flavorful on its own. Last but not least, their attention to detail went all the way to mashed potato and steamed vegetables. It was truly one of the best. Did I mention the free, fresh baked foccacia? It's among the top 3 I've had in any restaurants, ever. At the end, even it pinches my wallet a bit, it was well worth it. Come hungry, leave happy!

Now I get why Sorelle has such a high score, and I'm happy that we finally gave it a try…read more It's situated in a small strip mall, parking is ok as we came at around 6:30pm on a week day night, there were still some spots available. Sorelle is a small restaurant, upon entering, it has a square room and you get to see everything at one glance. It's not fancy on decorations, more like a neighborly place and the customers look like so too, families and large groups on a random day, you don't need to dress up to eat in this place. The 2 page menu has appetizers, salad, pizza, pasta, and 3 entree dishes. Desserts are printed on a separate sheet, there are a variety of choices but a tad too expensive for my wallet. We ordered the Ravioli a la Teresa with cheese and pesto cream sauce, and their signature Sorelle Short Rib Bolognese. After ordering, we were given free bread for the table. The bread had herbs on top and the dipping sauce is olive oil with fried and then mashed soft garlic. The bread looked nothing special, but once I touched it, I was delighted to find out that they were warm and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. It took a bit of wait for our food to came, I think it meant they were freshly cooked. The portions were big. Once laying down our food, the lady came with a big bowl of cheese and helped us sprinkle on top. It looks amazing with the cheese on top, like snow flakes melting on. I am so impressed with my short rib bolognese. The piece of short rib was sumptuous, a whole piece, resting on top of the pasta that is covered in meat sauce. The meat itself was so soft that it was super easy to tear off and just melts in my mouth. Flavorful and soft and juicy, super yummy! The pasta is cooked el dente, and each bite there's a bit of ground meat coated on the ziti pasta from the bolognese sauce. Very satisfying! I had a bite of the ravioli and these huge dumplings are covered in fresh pesto sauce and very cheesy inside. Although I was a bit confused on the difference between a pesto sauce and a pesto cream. I felt like the sauce was more pesto but we ordered pesto cream. Anyhow, it tasted good but I prefer my short rib bolognese more. Bus boy service is fast and responsive. We had a very enjoyable meal.

To eat three of us shared some apps, mains, and desserts. We started with the Mixed greens and heirloom beets salad and Delicata squash, then got the Mushroom pasta and Argentinian steak, and finished with the Molten chocolate bomb and Basque style cheesecake. The starters were good, they just weren't my first choice, there were others on the seafood section that I wanted to try more, but that's a reason to go back. Both entrées were great, the steak was cooked perfectly with the most delicious chimichurri, and I couldn't get enough of the mushroom pasta. I would get either of these again. I was still a little hungry after the food, but that left room for dessert and not leaving the restaurant uncomfortably stuffed. We brought our own bottle of wine but also got cocktails there. I didn't like my cocktail very much, but everyone else liked thiers, and I tried a sip of the martini and really liked that. The sauce was well proportioned to the pasta and freshly grated Parmesan was a good addition. We LOVED the cucumber salad and highly recommend. It was probably the best thing we ate. We finished with the panda cotta which was very flavorful and had good texture as panda cotta can come too gelatinous and firm or too runny. This was done well with fresh berries on top. All in all we enjoyed our dinner and the service was impeccable. I won't order the steak next time but venture out to another entree like the pork chop.

The restaurant has interesting decor and is not like most establishments of this nature as it is informal and is not in " the fine linen and white tablecloth " type of vein. No, the restaurant itself ( in a casual, rustic sort of way ) is very cozy and warm. inviting in a semi-formal way where you can relax to enjoy a fine meal and that is exactly what my family had. Our waiter was an affable fellow named Armando who is one of those servers that, as any good waiter does, is truly attentive to your whims and instinctively anticipates what you may want and he was perfect at his job. He served us water and a very food delicious basket of freshly baked bread ( which inadvertently set the tone for the meal to come because it was beyond excellent ) and named off the house specials, which were all mouth-watering at hearing them but it was the rib eye steak that caught my attention and that is what I ordered and also a ginger beer as well ( Fever Tree no doubt about it ). My family also ordered their food and then we waited for what what it seemed was an eternity for our meal to come. After about 40 minutes our meals came and they did not disappoint, from presentation to the flavor, taste and consistency of it all. I honestly don't remember eating my meal because it was done in 5 minutes... yes. it was that good and beyond delicious! I remember the steak was tender, juicy, grilled perfectly, the gravy was hearty and robust. the vegetables were cooked right ( fresh and tangy ) and the mashed potatoes were oh so fluffy and creamy. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal to the fullest and I left no food on my plate. This was a meal that was pretty epic for what it was and I was throughly satisfied. I ordered a tiramisu for dessert to take home and I'm sure it will be as good as the meal I had at the restaurant. Trattoria 360 is a fine establishment that has earned its flowers and you should give them a try if you're looking for delicious Italian food that is a cut above!
