I had been craving a really good Cesar salad and decided to order from Aldo's. I have been to the bigger restaurant and everything we had was so good so I thought I would give the cafe a try. The salad was so fresh and delish. They packed an insane amount of salad into the container. I would request extra dressing next time because there was so much salad. When we were visiting family in Los Gatos, we had to go back to Aldo's as it is that great. It is a favorite of my brother's and it is obvious why. The food and service is perfect, and yet it simply laid out inside that you feel extremely comfortable. I had a half order of the Penne Bolognese and it was very tasty. Our daughter split the Cavatelli with my brother. Very good and lots of flavor. Our sister-in-law had a Calamari Steak which was prepared Piccata style...also very good. The salad before our meals was gorgeous and also very flavorful. Our server Layla was a gem. So friendly and efficient. We will be back the next time we visit our family. read more

A very good Italian restaurant! My wife was craving Italian food, and after consulting Yelp, we decided on Aldo's Cafe. We had a great dinner here enjoying the delicious food. My wife tried the Lasagna ($23), which she found to be great. I was looking for a low-carb option (hard to do in an Italian restaurant). Our waiter recommended Involtini Melanzana (rolled eggplant) from the special menu ($24.50). This delicious dish had several rolls of eggplant around a great filling and covered with a wonderful sauce. (And no carbs!). Vegetables were included. The waiter served fresh grated Parmesan cheese for our entrees. The service was great and staff friendly and helpful. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with large photographs of Italy. We were seated next to one showing rooftops of old buildings that was fascinating to look at all the detail (and to see satellite dishes on top of old rooftops!). read more

We tried this place for the first time, and everything was great! The complimentary bread has great taste & texture; oil & balsamic vinegar is provided at the table. We started with the spinach salad in a Dijon dressing with candied nuts and tomatoes; it was very good. My daughter had the chicken marsala, which was excellent. My husband had the tortellini pasta in tomato cream sauce with ham & peas, and it was great. My salmon fettuccini in vodka sauce turned out to be my daughter's favorite, so we did a bit of trading. :) We shared the tiramisu for dessert, and it was great! The service was wonderful all around. Aldo,s was recommended by friends, and what great recommendation. We had an early dinner, we got there at 5:00, we were greeted by a very nice young lady, we were given water and bread right away. She came back to see if we had questions, then took our order. We soon after got our order, they offered cheese, refilled our bread , water and refilled our olive oil and balsamic. The cavatelli was cooked to perfection, it had tomato's , spinach and sausage. A very fresh and tasty dish. My husband had the chicken parmigiana, I had to taste it, juicy and tender yet slightly crispy on the outside, with mozzarella and delicious delicate red sauce on top. And fresh sautéed spinach on the side. Oh another thing the bread is delicious, I asked if it was made in house, he said yes it's made daily. It's a small cafe, but very beautifully decorated and with an Italian ambiance. But one thing that resonates with me was the staff, everyone was so friendly and then way they greeted their guests was like family, this is difficult to find these days. A must try! read more

My new GO TO place for Italian cuisine! This place has been around for awhile, but recently I remembered it as I was craving Italian food to celebrate my birthday with a friend. The salads were what I remembered with fondness as the vegetables are so FRESH snd seasonal. You can tell they know how to source the best ingredients. The pasta was so perfectly cooked, sauces were on point and chicken was tender. The pizza was also thin crust as I like it, toppings were new to me, but they worked! We ended with tiramisu dessert to celebrate. AMAZING!! The decor was all photos of Italy and places that brought back memories for my friend, who traveled to Italy. Aldo's is close to where I live and I have been meaning to go here for a while now. Also interesting to note that they have another location not too far from here on the same street. We were here for dinner last night and had a good experience. The staff was friendly and professional. They only have wine and beer (only Peroni) and I had a nice tall glass of the Peroni. I also had the mozzarella Caprese, the pizza with prosciutto and gorgonzola, and the chocolate tartufo. Everything was decent, not amazing and not bad. read more

I'm always in search of good Italian food, which for some reason, seems to be difficult to find in the Bay Area. I was really happy to try Aldo's Cafe in Los Gatos at my friend's suggestion. She is a local whose parents dined here once a week for decades, so that tells you a little bit about how long Aldo's has been feeding the residents of the South Bay. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday at 11:45. There were already some people dining inside, solo and larger groups. Service was prompt and friendly, with water and bread brought out quickly. The server and host were also very accommodating in bringing out butter for the warm bread. I decided to get one of the daily specials, which was a cavatelli pasta with sausage, tomatoes, and spinach. I liked the fact that it had both protein and vegetables. I wasn't sure what sauce it would come with but was pleased to see that it was basically a thin tomato-based sauce that was probably made by adding a little pasta water to thicken it. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and I liked the balance of sausage and veggies. The portion size was generous without being overbearing. I ate the whole thing and was very happy with my dish. I would happily return to Aldo's another time. Parking in the lot is quite easy, and their location is just off Highway 9 and 17, for easy access. read more

we have gone Aldo's restaurant very often service there is excellent as well as food. Tonight we went to the cafe. gentleman there greeted sat us down immediately very nice. Food was very good but the waitress was less than nice acted like she did not want be there made no att empt what so ever to check on us. she brought us the bill did not say anything I had to ask the gentleman that sat us to take the bill . She did not acknowledge us at all. The rest of the crew was great and I hope Aldo sees this. It was around 6:15 6:30 on 6/28 this waitress ruined our experience. I've been going here for years since I used to live in Campbell. It was well known that they have the best caesar salad in the LG area for a quick lunch/to go meal. I went back about two weeks ago with a friend and we had the pasta special which was a white wine sauce penne tomato pasta dish, and the recommended cab from our waiter. We had a great time - excellent prompt service, pastas were a perfect al dente, and the wine was great. Nothing to distract from catching up with a good friend. Highly recommend this spot for dinner or lunch! The caesar is still killer. read more

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2018 Aldo's Cafe is a family favorite. I came here for lunch with our family priest recently. The parking lot is tiny and so are the parking spaces- so be aware. It's located in the same shopping center as Fidelity and Starbucks. The footprint of the restaurant is small and the tables tend to be close together. They have new lighting fixtures which are really pretty. It's definitely a locals favorite and kind of off the beaten path so to speak. We both ordered iced teas. Giuessepi was our waiter- super friendly and attentive as usual. We were given bread which we had with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the bread was baked to perfection crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our family priest had a spinach salad with salmon which he loved (it was super fresh the greens and the salmon looked amazing). I had the margherita pizza which was giant - it was delicious but it wasn't like there normal margherita pizza I'm used to (tomato sauce with rounds of fresh mozzarella) their version is shredded cheese over the entire pizza, the tomato sauce and cheese were outstanding. Our iced teas were refilled without needing to ask for more. Great customer service (Giusessepi is authentically kind to all his customers) and delicious food make this a winner in my Yelp Notebook :) Noelle's Notes Reservations strongly recommended as it's a popular spot among locals. Horrible lasagna... it was so dry even the pasta was dry... the cherry on top was the rubbery cheese they put on it. I don't like giving bad reviews but this was a totally extreme experience compared to the wonderful pasta experience I had at Aldos on Winchester. read more

Three of us went here for lunch and we were all happy. My two friends had pastas which looked good and I had the salmon which was very good. Review #318 - 2018 After our outing at Spina Farms, we decided to head over to Aldo's for lunch since I had this place bookmarked a little while ago. My sister usually doesn't care for Italian too much since she feels that it's too heavy for her taste, but she agreed to come with me any way. We showed up around 1 PM & were seated immediately since the place wasn't too busy. I ordered the linguine alla vongole and asked if it was ok to add the white sauce and our waiter was more than happy to accommodate. My sister got the penne al salmone with the white sauce as well. Our food arrived about 10-15 minutes later and we were both ready to chow down. I really liked my linguine alla vongole. It was super flavorful. The clams tasted super fresh. My sister's penne al salmone was pretty good as well. I'm not too crazy about penne since it doesn't really absorb the flavors and it wasn't as flavorful as my dish. Service was very friendly and attentive. Serving size is very generous for the price. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area. read more

Lived in LG now for 8 years and never stopped here to eat. I saw a picture of their margharita pizza and it looked very close to a new york city pizza, so I thought I'd give it a try. (I'm from NYC and always on the search for a good approximation of a NYC slice.) The pizza was GREAT! Really good crust, thin, crisp with good sauce and cheese. It's not cheap at $18 for sort of like a medium pizza, but the taste was worth it. Love it! read more

Some dishes might be slightly overpriced (pastas and gnocchi), but generally speaking, this restaurant provides quality dishes. Set lunches are of an excellent value for money. Sauces are fine and in proper quantities in salads. Tomatoes sauce is excellent, fresh, tasty and light. Pasta sauces are not buttery. Their ham (sorry can't recall the Italian name) is what we get in France/Spain/Italy. I felt like home. Strongly recommended for business lunches. read more

It was 95 and we were not in the mood to cook. Our neighbors suggested Aldo's so we agreed and set a reservation. We arrived promptly. There was no one at the cramped hostess stand. A waiter finally waived us to a table after a short wait. My son and I shared. Cesar salad, my neighbors the house salad and hubby had minestrone soup. Cesar was yummy, right amount of dressing. Neighbors loved their salad, hubby said soup was so so. I ordered the sausage pizza, son the tortellini, hubby chicken parm, neighbors got veal Marsala, fettuccine Alfredo and meat ravioli. My pizza was huge and super tasty. More than 1/2 came home. Everyone loved their dinners. We ordered profiteroles and chocolate cake. Everything delicious. I would say service was decent. I had this recommended from a fellow Yelper Elite. We went on a Friday night around 8pm. There was no wait at all. We got a cheap bottle of Chanti ($26) the eggplant rolotini special and the veal milanese. Both came with a side of mediocre veggies and a (slightly too) garlic-y spaghetti. But the absolute star was the crispy veal cutlet for $17. I was at Nashmarkt in Cambpell last weekend and had a cutlet that was as good for 2x the price. It was great. The eggplant dish was also good, but didn't really compare with the outstanding veal. Our server - who everyone recommend - Guiseppe - was very efficient and kind. It was $70 before tip. I've been a customer many times. But an experience today leaves me surprised and disappointed. Today my guest and I both ordered the Cesar Salad. Our server asked if we wanted anchovies--a conventional, historically standard ingredient. We said we'd like them, knowing that diners may prefer that they be omitted. She did not tell us that, as with typical added ingredients such as chicken, that the anchovies would cost more. Imagine my surprise when I found that $1.50 per person was added to the bill for the anchovies, supposedly a standard recipe item. I brought this to our server's attention with these exact words: "I do not mean to seem disrespectful to you in any way, but . . . " She did not offer to adjust the bill. Indeed, she seemed visibly upset at me. This is not a matter of a $3 charge on a $40 bill. It is how a charge, not listed on the menu, was added for a traditionally integral item, and the customer, when ordering, was not told of an additional cost. Recall the old saying? "Sometimes your customers don't complain. They just . . . go away. And you never find out why." I have tried to do Aldo's a favor. I wonder if they will appreciate it. I will never know. I will never return. And remember the classical definition of a customer: someone who returns. read more

Aldo's Cafe features the best Italian cuisine in the Bay Area. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is top notch. Great portions and menu options to fit all appetites. Social distancing is observed and the outdoor dining features heaters and plenty of space between tables. My wife and I have been coming here for over three years. For our last visit we placed an order to go for a family member and we're given three loaves of bread. It's generosity like this and attention to detail that will keep us coming back for years to come definitely recommend it to anyone! read more

We ordered food to go and when we got home this is what we got. I paid 21$ for 10 tortellini ........and the other pasta which was also 21$ was missing the sauce entirely. Although the food we got did taste good it was extremely over priced for the amount of food and the missed sauce. Pictures attached. read more
