We recently hosted a large private party of nearly 50 people and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, the manager was incredibly flexible and accommodating with our preferred date, time, and customized menu which made our planning process smooth and stress-free. We liked how our customized menu came printed with our event name. Our waitress did an amazing job managing such a large group, staying attentive and friendly throughout the event. In general, I still love this local restaurant. However, they HAVE to do something about their water lines, or whatever is causing their water and any drink using those lines to taste so horrible! I usually drink water all day. In the past 5 or 6 months, I have been here 4 times. Every time the water is abominable! I then have to order a different drink, and when I ordered lemonade, the terrible water taste came through. Unless it is the cleanser they use, and it's not coming off of their glasses. I have had others at my table who did not seem to notice the bad taste, so wondered if it was just me for some reason. However, this water taste is not something I find any place else, and it has been here consistently the last half-year, or 4 times I have visited. One time I came, I was able to drink a glass of water, but when they refilled it, it was extremely bad. So, maybe there are multiple lines, and one is bad, or maybe it is how some of the glassware is cleaned. The taste lingers in your mouth for days, even after eating and drinking other things, so there is some toxin, mold, or chemical that has to be poisoning it's customers. The waiter confirmed this last time that others have complained about the water, so it is not just me. I had to order an $11 glass of wine, since their non-alcoholic drinks run through the same lines, (and the Lemonade I tried had the same flavor coming through), and I did not want to drink alcohol that night. The alcohol made me hot, I was driving, and I was still thirsty, since the wine glass was only filled part-way, so didn't last long, and I couldn't drink their water when feeling dried out. I will not go back, unless they fix their issue, as it may very well be hazardous to our health, and it ruins the meal, for me, if I cannot have some form of non-alcoholic beverage to go with the meal. I know it has been bad for at least around 6 months, and the waiter said others have complained about it. Tomato Thyme needs to address this issue immediately! I know lines can go bad without very constant and careful maintenance, and maybe it is something else, but I am not going to pay for a meal and be dying of thirst, or have to bring in my own water. I do love this restaurant, and want it to succeed. Please look into this issue. It has been raised multiple times. Something is wrong, and that is catastrophic to staying in business. read more

I have been going to tomato time for very, very long time. John and holly serve excellent food, however A week ago we went to dinner there. I had the shrimp and crab Leouie. I had to complain about the shrimp bean old and the crab was to salty. It was not a good shrimp Salad. The shrimp was dry like Straw It was not fresh, The crab was too salty. It wasn't up to their quality of food, The waiter offered to take it off the bill. But I paid for it anyway I just said it wasn't tomato time quality So this week we went and I decided Have the pizza because it was always the best. However, this time it tasted like a frozen pizza crush was terrible, However, my wife food was excellent. She had the lemon rosemary chicken. Tomato Thyme is solid dining option in the neighborhood. A cozy venue that always seems busy, so I was happy to catch a bar seat. My view was optimal for watching the chefs prepare dishes, which helped me choose... I had a side Caesar to start, and the Whiskey Glazed Salmon for the entree. The salmon was cooked perfect medium (I like it "wet" haha). All of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. If I still lived across the street, I'd visit more often. I love the food at Tomato Thyme. Tonight I had a Thai Steak Salad delivered for dinner and it was wonderful. The salad consisted of arugula, avocado, red onion, cucumbers, tomatoes, and asparagus. The avocado slices were huge and the asparagus was grilled perfectly. The salad came with sliced steak cooked medium rare, as requested. I would have liked a smidge more as the portion seemed small. The dressing was a delicious sesame-ginger vinaigrette. They give you two small containers, but I only needed one. Note: I recently had a Thai steak salad from another Willow Glen restaurant that was incredibly delicious, but they seem to have removed it from the menu. We came to tomato thyme for date night. It was our first time here. Laura was our waitress she was very friendly and welcoming, shared the food of the day deals. She checked on us just so warm and inviting. She brought us some complementary warmed bread with a side of butter We had the chicken fettuccine with broccoli beyond delicious. It's probably the best fettuccine I've ever had and I've been to a lot of places.. Hubby got the original calzone. I tried that as well very delicious very fresh and hot cooked to perfection. Visited around 4 PM on a Friday for a quick bite and a drink. We sat at the bar and decided to get a couple of drinks and the lobster ravioli. Unfortunately, we could see the kitchen and realized that the lobster ravioli was frozen. They were kind enough to split the portion for us, however, one of the raviolis on my plate was still cold/frozen and difficult to eat. I decided to let them know since it was six raviolis for $34. The bartender seemed really annoyed with my complaint. They did remake the portion and overall it was cooked slightly better. However, one of the raviolis was still cold and slightly frozen. I was actually surprised I hadn't reviewed Tomato Thyme, but then I realized that I hadn't been there in years. We want on a Friday night for a nice dinner after a work week. They had a summer menu of specials including the delicious Brussels sprouts dish and the prosciutto and pear pizza we ordered. Both were really delicious and fresh. I also got the blueberry mojito from the specials menu which was really good, though I made the mistake of drinking from the top and not from the straw at first, which meant it tasted much stronger on the first sip! We also got the beets salad that had a really delicious dressing. Service was really good. They were good at bringing the complimentary bread and then bringing more bread. My husband and I had dinner here with our toddler a couple of weeks ago. We've lived in the area our whole lives, but this was our first visit. The food was delicious, and the portions were a really good size, including the children's meal. I ordered a tequila-jalapeño pasta dish, although I can't remember the exact name, and really enjoyed it. Our toddler had the chicken tenders, which were juicy and perfectly breaded. Even the bread and butter were so good that I had to ask them not to bring more because I knew I would keep eating it! I have been coming to Tomato Thyme at least 15 years it's such a beautiful restaurant. The service is always consistent and I always feel right at home . Tonight Ashton was our server he went above expectations for me since I am in the service industry . He greeted my table in a timely matter , brought my amazing raspberry lemon drop promptly. I appreciated that he took my daughter's order first and brought it out which was a chopped salad that she absolutely loves. I appreciate that this restaurant takes allergies very seriously as well. Birthday dinner time with friends. This is a go-to place for Italian for us. One guy always gets the lasagne; another, the clam dish. The ladies all got the beef stroganoff and loved it. I tried the traditional calzone for the first time - and I'll get it again! Great flavor. Keep asking for bread - you won't be disappointed. I went back to tomato thyme for the first time in years a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is cute, cozy, and casual. The service was great and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the shrimp risotto and my friend got the chicken tequila fettuccini. Both very good and we enjoyed the dishes quite a bit. My only complaint is the portion was way too small for the price. A friend of mine had their birthday dinner here. I would not have come otherwise. I ordered the Paella ($32.95). This was the worst meal I've ever had and it was way too expensive for what you get. I kid you not when I say the cook must've emptied a whole bottle of salt into the dish. My bf who loves, loves, loves salt was appalled at how much salt was in the dish. I usually love the food here. Weeks ago I had Lobster Ravioli that was outstanding. Today ordered the same meal and I'm sure it must have made by a different chef. Order the muscles to start and normally these are very good, but this time they were a bit fishy and also sandy... didn't finish them. I ordered off the specials and had the Mahi Mahi. The butter garlic sauce wasn't any better as it was just butter, but it seemed unsalted so again, no flavor... VERY disappointing. Love their food and cocktails! They serve a complimentary bread to start, which is always a delight. You get it with olive oil and balsamic or butter - your choice. Bread comes out hot! Wine selection is nice and so are their selection of cocktails. We usually order a pizza to share and it never disappoints. Their service is quick, friendly and really reliable. The ambiance is cosy. Worse: They now add a 2.5% credit card surcharge. The notice about this is in TINY TINY print on the Specials Menu, not the regular menu.
