I googled for drain cleaning services and Gary's Rooter and Hydro-Jetting came up, with good reviews. I double checked reviews with Yelp, and decided to give him a call. He answered. Not a dispatcher or national service third party, like I would have gotten if calling one of the well known Rooter company names. The actual guy answered the phone. He gave me a ballpark estimate over the phone, with the reasonable caveat that until he sees the issue he can't know for sure. He and his partner came within a few hours, which was the time he'd estimated over the phone. They assed the issue and confirmed pricing based on what they saw, then they cleared the obstruction quickly; ran a camera through the pipe to show me how it looks; and discussed options for hydro jetting. While they'd cleared the main problem swiftly, it made sense to me to also have them do the hydro jetting of some roots that were closer to the street, as a preventative measure. That was also done pretty quickly, and I also got to see the before and after video camera feeds of the inside of the pipes. All-in, I was happy with the service and considered the cost to be transparent and fair.

When I called, Brittany was very helpful and quickly scheduled a technician named Nico. He arrived within two hours, right on time. Nico was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to properly diagnose the issue. He ran a camera down the drain and found a heavy sludge buildup that was preventing the pipe from draining correctly. He recommended hydro jetting to clear the line. After completing the service, he showed me the before and after camera footage. The difference was huge and the line looked significantly cleaner. My sink is now draining perfectly. We went to a bunch of companies and they all said it was going to be super expensive because the drain line went through the center of my house and our floors are highly sentimental. Most were going to reroute it around the home, but thankfully Charlie's offers an epoxy resin lining. No trenching, no pulling up floors laid down by my father-in-law, many thousands of dollars saved, and they do their work beautifully. Explained every step and sent me video proof of everything. I recommended them to my parents, who are now also Charlie's fans. And, earlier this week my water heater's pilot light went out. Our ignition button doesn't seem to be working. My parents-in-law had a toilet that wasn't draining properly, a semi-emergency since it's the only toilet in their small condo. It was already late in the day, but I found QP Plumbing and messaged them and they were able to have a plumber out early the next morning. Leo was the plumber who visited and he did a lot of troubleshooting: first with a plunger, then an auger, then removing the toilet to inspect the trap and the drain pipe. In the end, we determined that the toilet should be replaced because of its age, and Leo took care of buying a new toilet, installing it, and hauling the old one away. He recommended a toilet that's elongated and slightly higher, which was a great option for our elderly parents with reduced mobility. Leo also replaced the wax ring and flange bolts and caulked the new toilet well. He took the time to do the job right, and the price was quite reasonable. And the new toilet is a huge improvement over the old one. Thanks QP for the quality work and for giving our parents one less thing to have to worry about!
