Lunch special - so good! Spicy tuna with salmon.
    Nancy G.

Ive delayed my review far too long now. Came here during lent on Fridays this year and was not disappointed. It was so good we made it our Friday lent lunch spot. Fresh was delicious in our spicy tuna rolls, salmon was cooled to perfection. Salad and extra little sides were so satisfying. Customer service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean inside and outside. I wish I had taken more pics. Parking can be tricky in the plaza depending what time you come. Glad this place exists because I can get my sushi fix and not have to drive far.

Great food service was a little slow and the ambiance reminded me of Japan very good overall but service was ok.

The Assorted Sashimi was fun for the two of us to each try 6 premium pieces. Everything tasted fresh and high quality with a different garnish accompanying each piece! The cucumber salad was refreshing and crunchy to munch on in between sushi bites. Their Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice surprised me with an arrangement of flavors and textures that went together magically. I would have gotten a second order if stomach space wasn't a concern. Next we had the Yellowtail Sashimi, which of course had sliced jalapeño on top. I don't care how many restaurants put that out, it's always fantastic. The only roll we got was the Cherry Blossom roll, I was intrigued by the menus indication that it didn't have rice. A large roll with 11 pieces came out that was 95% fish, the remaining 5% being bits of avocado and two sauces that paired exquisitely. It tasted excellent. Our server recommended their Kid Season sake which was exactly what I was looking for: filtered and semi sweet. Highly recommend!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. However, I would hope the servers would ask how is everything and if we need anything else. Overall, sushi tastes fine. I probably won't be back given the experience that we had.

The monkfish was luxuriously rich, while the uni paired with squid was deliciously fresh, with that perfect ocean sweetness and incredible texture. One of the most memorable bites was the sushi "taco"--a crisp shiso leaf wrapped around a vodka martini-inspired creation that somehow captured the essence of the cocktail in a single bite. The scallop nestled inside a squash blossom was another standout. The cocktails take it to a different level. One mention: the staff is essential and truly makes the experience more inspiring.

The atmosphere is great if you love intimate bar seating, the service is warm and cordial, and the drinks are very good. I also really liked the amount and variety of dishes served outside of the nigiri, so the meal felt substantial and well paced. The food itself was good and well executed, but for the price point, I was hoping for something more memorable or distinctive. A lot of the dishes and flavor profiles felt very familiar and similar to what I've had at many other more traditional omakase experiences. Nothing was bad by any means, but there wasn't a particular bite or flavor combination that surprised me or stayed with me afterward. The second time I came here, they had firefly squid (in season) which was a delight. If you're newer to sushi or omakase, I think this would be a great experience. But if you eat omakase frequently, there are other places around this price point that I think offer something a little more unique or memorable.

7.8/10 We came here…read morelooking for a sushi spot that was still good quality, with our three kids in tow. Honestly, this place was a little more authentic than the run-of-the-mill sushi spot we probably should have gone to with kids who mostly want California rolls, spicy tuna, and chicken teriyaki. But I chose it on purpose because I wanted something genuinely authentic in Little Tokyo, and I'm really glad I got to try something new. I had the pork loin katsu (around $26-28). It was super moist and had great crispiness, so no complaints there. But when I saw "pork loin," I expected a leaner, firmer cut, and this had a lot of fatty pieces. The breading also didn't hold onto the fat, so it kind of fell apart in spots. It was still really good, I just would've expected it to be leaner. I've since learned loin katsu traditionally keeps the fat on for flavor, so if you prefer lean like me, the tenderloin (hire) katsu might be the better pick. I'd give it about a 7 (maybe a 6.9). It came as a set with rice, miso soup, and three little side dishes, kind of like Korean banchan. They weren't bad, but they're definitely an acquired taste and you'd have to be adventurous. There was also a soft tofu custard-type dish that wasn't sweet and was really bland. I wouldn't order it again, but maybe I just didn't eat it the right way, and I'd love to learn how if that's the case. No disrespect to the culture at all. I'm not a picky eater, a lot of the set meal just didn't appeal to me. The yellowtail jalapeño cut roll (~$20) was really good quality. My son got yellowtail and spicy tuna hand rolls ($9 each). The chicken teriyaki was a standout: super crispy, a smooth batter different from the katsu (not tempura), and really good flavor, about a 7.8. They also have kid-friendly stuff like fries. And whatever that mustard mayo sauce on the table is, it's amazing. I dipped my fries, chicken, and katsu in it and it definitely helped. Drinks: I was a little shocked at $16 for a hot sake for sake bombs, and it wasn't even a bigger carafe. Beer was average priced, thank God. As I say in a lot of my reviews, anything past $9 for a beer and you're basically being robbed. Service was excellent. Everyone was super friendly and so accommodating with our three loud kids, which I really appreciated. It's somewhat kid-friendly; there were a couple of other kids there, so it's not a hoity-toity place. Overall, 7.8. Food pricing was fair, but a lot of the set meal was a dud for me, and I'd order something different next time. Still, it was a fun experience and I'm grateful we tried somewhere truly different.
