Tokyo Sushi is, by far, the best sushi spot in Simi and the surrounding area! We've already visited twice in one week, and we're seriously considering ordering takeout again today. That's how good it is! Josh, the sushi chef, is truly an artist. His sushi is beautifully crafted, and the fish is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and buttery. Every bite is a reminder of the quality and care that goes into each dish by Josh. Michelle, our server, is also wonderful -- so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The entire experience at Tokyo Sushi is always warm and enjoyable. If you haven't tried Tokyo Sushi yet, you absolutely need to. You will not be disappointed! Stopped in tonight for a light dinner. I ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer to start. It was good, but large. I ended up taking half home. I got the Dinner Bento. It was a very generous bento with Sush, sashimi a California Roll. I opted for the Salmon Teryiaki. It was a large piece of salmon! The benyo also had a salad, miso soup, 2 thousand and mixed tempura. All was good. It was more than a light dinner with the larger servings, but I enjoyed it. I happened upon this place for the first time today. Upon entering, I was greeted by a lovely young lady named Mona. She took care of me from the beginning to the end. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested several items which I agreed to. The food was excellent. Was at this location yesterday. Had been to this location several times since the transition from Omega Sushi to now the location being Tokyo Sushi. 1. The food was prepared exactly how my friend and I asked for. We each ordered two cut rolls and an appetizer of gyoza. Their baked/fresh rolls are between $14-$20 per roll, for some that's considered pricey, although the flavors were worth the price. (More so a side comment to keep in mind if this is important to you - there is no all you can eat option.) 2. The waitress was super sweet and social, very social in regards to being personable. Was also very attentive to us needing anything, and those preparing the food were also very greetable and welcoming to the joint. 3. The ambiance didn't change from what omega was previously owned - they have several televisions throughout the restaurant to keep people entertained, and everything was well kept and clean. This is why I have it 4 stars but I did I have wonderful time here! I ordered the sizzling salmon plate, which comes with miso soup, salad, and rice. This is such a good deal for nearly $19. The salmon was very good and the sides to go with it! I never had a sizzling salmon plate, so this was unique to me. Also, I ordered the salmon nigiri and salmon temptation rolls that were so amazing! Good flavor and not stingy with the salmon. For my drink I got the sake and the deal where you buy 1 sake and get the other for $1.00. It was good and hot for sure! My server Amy was very nice though it was busy it was hard to come back but they all out in effort to help me with whatever I needed! I will definitely come back here for sure ! This was our first time here and everything was amazing :) My husband had the sashimi sampler and the presentation came out beautifully and he said everything was delicious. He requested unagi specifically because included and they were happy to accommodate, this ended up being my husband's favorite part. The restaurant is clean and open and we had fantastic service with our server, Marcus! He was incredibly kind and attentive. Everything I got as someone who doesn't eat fish was fantastic! I personally got the shishito peppers and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly, which not every place in simi has. The popcorn chicken was perfectly crispy. Simi Valley finally has a great sushi spot! I visit friends here often and our go to meal is sushi. We arrived around 8:30 on a Friday evening to a rather empty parking lot. Once inside, we saw more tables filled than cars outside, so maybe local residents walked over. It was nice to see about 1/2 of the restaurant full for a recently opened place, and at a later dinner time. We had some of the best service in a long time. The service staff was on the younger side and it was so nice to see them attentive to us thoughout the meal. Felt like they actually cared about their job/customers. Recommendations were on point as well. It was girls night out, so my friend and I shared 3 rolls and a cucumber salad. The rolls were huge!!! Not just big and satisfying....really, huge! We found the prices about $2 more per roll than we were use to, however, it was worth every penny!!! Not only would I classify these as extra large rolls, but the flavor was equally impressive. Hawaiian Philly may be my new favorite roll. We were there until 10 when they closed as we ate a little slower to really enjoy the meal. Even when they were closed and cleaning up, they never rushed us to leave, even opening the door for us on the way out. Our bill was more affordable than we expected. Needed to find an open sushi bar on Sunday and ended up finding this cute spot on Yelp. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the yellowtail carpaccio, the Hawaiian Philadelphia roll, and the broiled mussels. The drinks were 50% off while we were there so we enjoyed some hot sake and cold soju. I wish I took photos of the pretty Sakura flowers and the little umbrellas from Japan they put on their ceiling it was so pretty in there. The food there is also like no other I had gotten myself the sushi boat and all of the food I ate and put in my mouth exploded with different flavors I have never knew existed before. And if you go and experience your service being done by a young man give him a fat tip I believe his name is Ryan and he was just unbelievably kind.
