Sashimi and Tomodachi Roll
Jacquelyn M.

Stopped by because we were craving sushi. We came around 5:30 and it was pretty empty inside so we were seated quickly. Service was bit slow, but very friendly. It was clean inside and they have bar seating as well. We ordered off their happy hour menu which was very good value! Would definitely come back again during their happy hour. The sashimi tasted fresh and the roll was good as well.

This is your lunch special is spicy tuna yellowtail Abaco not sure what the other stuff is. Is the chef special.

Quality of food it's not fresh. They always claim they have quail eggs they never do then they give you the lunch specials and it looks like the fish is dried up.

Tonight was our second time coming here. Our first visit wasn't so good because it was during the week, they were understaffed and It took very long for the Sushi to arrive. But this Friday night, even with all tables full, 3 chefs preparing orders and servers were very attentive. They have good sushi and we love the casual style. Only if they can change their music choice! We definitely recommend.

If you're looking for good quality sushi at a reasonable price, I'd look at other sushi places around the valley first before trying this one. I was so excited that a sushi restaurant opened in the vineyards so I took me and my friend there. The food itself was mediocre. I wouldn't label it as bad, but it's very expensive for the quality that you're getting. A lot of the sushi felt like it was smothered in the same sauce. I don't think I'd comeback. We also got stomach aches after eating there. I will say the inside as you walk in is super nice, great ambience. And the staff greets you so friendly as soon as you walk in. The food presentation looks very aesthetic and nicely plated. If I had to rate solely on that it would be a 4 star. But my rating is based on my experience with actually trying the food. I just feel there are a lot of cheaper options for better quality.

Our families favorite Japanese restaurant in town. Service is always welcoming and accommodating. I find myself as a creature of habit and do order the same thing. I can't help it! I love my seaweed salad, garlic edamame and Tomodachi roll. Family enjoys their miso soups, fried rice and other soy wrapped or baked rolls. This visit it was awesome to see them packed. Nonetheless, the service didn't miss a beat. Efficient and smiling. Thank you again for satisfying this patron!

6/6/2025 - I picked up my favorite dish during my lunch time via online order. This Shshi restaurant can be considered an upscale restaurant in Los Angeles. It provides a complimentary WiFi access inside the restaurant to overcome the weak WiFi signal from the Vineyard Guess WiFi. Every piece of raw fish is fresh.

I haven't been to a sushi place in a long time. I had some stomach issues so tried to avoid raw fish. The apps and dessert were the best parts of our meal. Service was ok. We had many apps and sushi rolls. Long story short my stomach did not do well. Not sure if it was the food but was up several times in the night. The orange chicken, spicy tuna with a biscuit and gyoza was pretty good. The issue was the base roll is made with fake crabmeat, not sure if there was real crab but didn't taste like it. So the same roll with different toppings over, over and over. There was a same sauce under everything. We started asking no sauce. Again over and over. Desert was good. Best green tea ice cream we had. The fried ice cream was good. I'm being generous if you're looking just for shushi.

This is a nice location in Porter Ranch. It has a nice patio. The service is good. No fountain drinks, so if you want a soda it's by the can. No plain Ice Tea only Passion Fruit flavor. Those two items take a star away for me. They are a bit pricy but so is everything now a days. The sushi is ok just average.

This place has a nice patio area and plenty of seating inside. The service was great. I really liked the spicy garlic edamame and the miso soup however the main dishes were unfortunately not the highlights. The albacore roll and the spicy tuna roll was not bad but also not great. They also lacked options. Most rolls have crab or tempura and no yellow tail.

Amazing services! Jess, the BEST employee is amazing. The food was awesome. This place is good for people who are beginning to like sushi. We did eat all the food so sorry we only have the desserts :(

Arrived at the restaurant at opening at 11:30 AM Saturday and closed. No message on the door. Outdoor seating looks nice though.

Quality and presentation is great but you need to know what to order. I don't go nearly as often as I'd like to but hope to change that.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

When I made reservations on the phone I asked about the latest reservation and confirmed 10 pm - however I asked if I could sit at the bar and they said not at that time since they closed at 11. When we arrived, there was a couple coming in at 10 and sat at bar...maybe just miscommunication but tha could have prevented us from consuming our food quick and skipping on alcohol since the table we got was not the best. Sushi felt very fresh and there's something about the way they make the rolls that feels different about other places (not sure if in a good way) Great staff and sushi chefs- they were super fast moving from one course to the next one.

While the fish quality here is great, you will get more bites that seem a lot more experimental with flavors and garnishes. I didn't like every single bite but I expected that. A lot more focus on creative cocktails and drink pairings instead of just sake or wine. This is a great place to try Japanese whiskey, they even have little lockers where regular patrons can store their expensive bottles they've bought for when they return, and you are welcome to grab an additional drink and chill in the space afterwards if you'd like. The chefs here were a lot more personable and fun with more of a bar vibe than a traditional omakase. Service was great, dedicated bartender was great, and though it's not the best sushi I've ever tasted, I would still bring someone back here for a unique experience. Brought my friend here for her bday and we left full and happy and a little drunk so I'd say it was a successful night!

Great food! Great crew!…read more However, they allowed 2 obnoxious couples to just make it for an uncomfortably loud dinner. Thai is not how an omakase experience should unfold. Such a shame because otherwise it would have been a great experience. But I cannot excuse them for allowing these other guys to just behave so rudely, like Neanderthal, and not say a thing.

It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy your meal, and have a good conversation. The food was consistently good. Fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavors, and a few signature rolls that felt thoughtfully done without trying too hard. Service was another highlight--easygoing, attentive in a subtle way, and never intrusive. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that a few dishes didn't quite have that "wow" factor. But sometimes, I appreciate a place that simply gets everything right without overcomplicating it. Definitely somewhere I'd return to--and perhaps bring the right company next time.
