So ... the lady who works in the flower department was so acidic and unfriendly this morning, I was worried something bad had happened to her. Short, mid 40's, glasses, dark skinned - she just could not be bothered with me. I was looking for a large red rose bouquet for my anniversary. She showed me some white arrangements and then, I kid you not, SCOLDED me for not putting in an order early. "I can't just drop everything to help YOU" is what she was saying. I like this Tom Thumb a great deal. It's always clean and pleasant. They have a great staff who are always friendly and helpful. I rarely have to wait in line, yet I don't feel rushed when checking out. This is a busy store and I appreciate that they always have someone watching the parking lot and gathering carts. I live in Trophy Club and routinely fuel up at Tom Thumb gas station. I would go inside to pick up ice and would get a fountain drink and snacks. Most recently, fountain drinks out of order or no Diet Coke. Last 6 weeks or so, there is a sign on the door " be back in 5-10 min". Today there was a sign on the door saying the station is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Can't the Store Manager figure out how to staff this? I find myself going to 7-11 in town instead. This review is for a particular employee. I failed to obtain her name, but she is a beautiful, younger black woman that works in the customer service area behind self checkout. If it helps, she was working today (1/19)at 6:15 pm. About a month ago I came in in the evening, frantically looking for oxygen in a can for my dog. He was scheduled for home euthanasia the next morning for heart failure (along with our other dog for her own health issues) and was randomly having a difficult time breathing lying down. I was just trying to help keep him comfortable until morning. She stopped what she was doing to help me, and when she realized how upset I was, pulled me to the side, asked if I was okay, and the second she understood started helping me find alternative stores nearby to find what I needed. I ended up just totally breaking down and this woman literally gave me like a solid 5 minute hug in the middle of the store. She showed me so much kindness when she didn't need to, and truly worked hard and quickly to help me. I was obviously distracted and failed to write this sooner. But I saw her today! She was helping someone when I saw her today and I was in a hurry, but we caught each others eyes and shared a smile. If I see her again I'll be sure to grab her name so I can call corporate but for now this will have to do. Management- she is an amazing employee. Work hard to keep her. Thank you to the young employee working 7/8/23 who found the cash I left in the machine after getting cash back at the end of my purchase. I was distracted and left without the money. When I returned 30 minutes later, I was thrilled to discover he had retrieved it and had it waiting at customer service for me. They say integrity is what you do when no one is watching. Been sitting out here for pick up for nearly 30 minutes while the guy was serving other cars that came way after me. My order on the app then said it was picked up already so I called customer service to ask what is going on and they rudely interrupted me while was talking and said "give me a minute," and put me on hold. By far the worst grocery store in DFW. From the rancid smell in the parking lot that clings to your tires, to the God awful smell of whatever is decomposing in the meat department. The prices are higher than their competitors and self checkout is pretty much mandatory since they may have one manned register open. Check the date on EVERYTHING! They do not rotate their stock and they don't discard expired product. read more

Rotten produce, cheese, and meat; expired food products across the board describe this store best. It took a few days and multiple complaints relayed to this store's staff to convince the employees to remove green moldy lemons removed from the shelves. Rotten cheese is abundant. Do not buy the Naked brand juices displayed in the produce department as they are always expired. Unbelievably I had to call the exterminator after opening a bag of Yukon gold potatoes bought from this store. The same day I bought the potatoes and ooened them on my kitchen counter a STREAM of black bugs came flooding out of the bag. Management is unconcerned. This store is fairly well loved in the community and it is so convenient. I shop here frequently because I live nearby. I don't eat meat or pre-packaged bread but a lot of people complain about getting moldy meat and bread from here which is so unsettling and dangerous. If you shop here, you're pretty much going to have to inspect anything you get, which is dumb. Additionally, management does not train their cashiers well so service is hit or miss and I would definitely use the self checkout option. read more

Beautiful, Clean store. Staff that makes the sandwiches are very rude. Sandwich was good as long as you don't mind the attitude from the guy making it. All other employees are suer nice and very helpful. Produce looks good. Most of thier items are over priced. I guess you pay a little extra to be able to avoid the WalMart Crowd. read more

My interaction with the bakery yesterday solidifies that I will never give the bakery at Tom Thumb Trophy Club my business. The lady that answered the phone was rude and treated me like I was a complete inconvenience. I simply asked if I could order a PRE-MADE cake to be held for me to pick up! I didn't ask for her to make a cake, I didn't ask her to decorate a cake, I simply asked her to pull a cake out of her stock to hold for me. She responded by sighing rudely like it was the last thing she wanted to do. I told her to not worry about it and that I'd take my business elsewhere. I then called the Tom Thumb in Southlake, where they were kind and happy to help. I'd recommend others use the Southlake bakery instead! read more

First, I don't appreciate being followed. If I wanted to steal, I sure as hell wouldn't go to this place. An elderly woman followed me and my younger siblings all over the store. I had to buy a gift card, tried to scan it in self checkout, and she proceeded to lecture me about why I couldn't scan it myself. She said it looks like I'm stealing. Why would I steal a McDonald's gifts card and an amazon gift card?! Why? I can't use it?! Please! If anyone else had tied to scan a gift card, she might have kissed them on the cheek and sent them in their way. The meat section smells bad. Really bad. I couldn't even figure out why. I told one of the men who worked there, and he did nothing. If I knew this place was going to suck this bad, I would have gone to Kroger. Damn. read more

They advertise Hormel cure 81 bone in ham spiral sliced. I chose 1 ask the meat department attendant ( lady) if it was the one on sale for .88 . She told me yes they were just marked wrong. Everything matched the ad 100%. I check out and I bought over the $25 minimum and it rings up 2.49 I ask the cashier attendees to check on the price. She never even looks at what I bought just it is wrong. I think Tom Thumb is baiting by the ads and then switching aT the store. Employees were not helpful nor did they look at or care. read more

I shop for groceries at Tom Thumb all of the time and have been for years. This store is consistently immaculate and the items are faced properly with make sense type of arrangement. The meat and produce remain fresh and the store always has very enticing weekly deals. I am please to report that Tom Thumb sells Blue Bell ice cream. If you have not tried this creamy delicious ice cream, may I suggest that you do. Whether it is on sale or not, I just can't help myself by grabbing a half gallon of cookies and cream each and every time. This location deserves zero stars. They have huge issue with expired items sitting on shelves. I have never shopped anywhere that had this many expired items. This has been an issue here for a long time. Managers have received complaints about this issue for at least a year (probably longer) and nothing was done. This store is not especially clean and definitely not well managed. Positive reviews for this dumpster should be taken with grain of salt. There have been numerous posts regarding this location and expired food on the town Facebook page. Typically followed by idiots tripping over one another to post how they love Trophy Club more then others and would never post negative things about Tom Thumb simply because it's in Trophy Club and how great the customer service is or that Jimmy the bag boy once smiled at them. Stay away from this disgusting mess. If you can't avoid it then at least refrain from buying anything perishable. Even bottles of ketchup and mustard can be long past expiration at this dump. FLORAL DEPARTMENT!! I recently had my wedding flowers done here and OMG they turned out beautiful. Maria was extremely helpful and kind throughout the process. I showed her some pictures of what I had in mind and she completely understood my aesthetic! I had my bouquets, boutonnieres, and center pieces made by Maria. The flowers she used were fresh and she made sure to show me the finished product the day before the wedding. This completely put me at ease knowing how the flowers would look and I had nothing to change. She even created a floral hairpiece last minute that matched my bouquet! As others have stated about Tom Thumb, their grocery proces are high. But their stores are always clean and organized and staff is friendly and eager to help. Tom Thumb also has a wide variety of specialty foods that you can't get at Wal Mart. I especially like this Tom Thumb for it's Pharmacy staff. Their Pharmacy does price matching so if you can get your prescription cheaper at another place, they will match it to get your business. The staff is friendly and provides prompt service, even at the drive thru. The wait is never long and they give flu shots as well. I've gotten my flu shot there for the past 2 years and did not have to wait. Overall, Tom Thumb is a great place to shop. read more

Since when can't you buy alcohol from Tom Thumb without a Texas license. I showed the lady at the registrar my California license and she buzzed the manager to verify. He looks at it then says he can't approve California licenses only Texas...so I tell him I have a passport. Said he needed a Texas license. Seriously?! Today I visited this location and went to floral to order a few balloons - told the lady I'd get some groceries and pick them up in a bit. When I went back to get, I was grabbing them from her floral counter and she turns around and says to me 'you do know you have to pay for these right?' Excuse me?? I was so dumbfounded that I looked at her and said 'why would I think otherwise?' I wanted to say so much more to her (Patricia) but I instead spoke to a manager. The disrespect and rudeness of that comment left me feeling humiliated for no reason. I would have walked out without the balloons but bc my son's party was in 2 hours, I had no other choice at that moment. The pharmacy at this location is one of the worst...inconsiderate, incompetent and definitely not one I'd recommend. I've had to fill here as a last result because of price or lack of supply of certain medications at other pharmacies and am always frustrated and unsatisfied with my experience. I typically will wait in-store for pickup and they have failed to page me when there's been an issue or completely ignored me when I've stood nearby even though my order is done so I end up waiting longer than 15-20 minutes. I've started doing grocery shopping elsewhere because of lack of service and prices here too. This used to be a better store. read more

Tonight the young man named James (young, medium build and height, brown hair) at the self-help check out was incredibly patient me with messing up the whole thing every time I tried to enter an article. He was super polite and very friendly, even explained to me about the training at Tom Thumb in all the different departments, especially the flowers as I was saying how much I LOVED my beautiful roses. If I could give this 0 star's I would. We recently moved to this area and had to leave the Tom Thumb we have used for almost 20 years. This pharmacy is always extremely slow and not helpful. This weekend I received a call from the pharmacist Adam letting me know my script had been ready for 20 days. I had been to the pharmacy twice and no one mentioned to me it was ready. I was finishing another med then we were switching to a new one. He told me that if not picked up that day it would be expired and the doc would have to call in a new one. He called me at 12:20 and my husband was there to pick it up by 2 to which Adam then said "oh its expired now sorry". How did it expire in the 2 hour it took to get up there. How does that make any sense. Then he kept pointing out it had been ready for 20 days. No one told me. I didn't need it yet. We have officially hit our limit at this pharmacy and will not be back to tom thumb again for any pharmacy needs. I get meds every 30 days and it has been a complete hassle each time we have needed to pick them up. I would rather drive out of my way to a pharmacy without a drive through and get my 3 kids out of the car each time then have to come back to this location . read more

I visited This location for the first time today and was immediately struck by how clean it is and how friendly everyone, including the managers are. This is especially refreshing as I have, in the past, frequented the likes of Walmart where customer service is more lip service than practice. Well done and keep it up. read more
