Nice grocery store with good parking! Tom Thumb is a solid grocery chain store. The location was very convenient and the garage parking was great. There was a good selection of food to choose from, and reasonably priced. The place was clean, and service was good.

False advertising... it's crazy

Big time false advertising - multiple items on this trip rang up for more at the register than the prices on the shelves. Over $2 of overcharging on one small $25 visit. Cashier was unconcerned... "that takes a manager to fix" but no offer to get a manager. First item on the receipt marked on the shelf for $4.99 and even AFTER the "discount" they still ripped me off for $1.70 on that single item! Also, the produce at this location is always terrible. What gives??? I'm out, there are plenty of other grocery stores in town

two piece chicken dinner (fried) with 2 sides

Gotta tell ya, don't underestimate too greatly the quality of prepared food at a grocery store. First off this is a gigantic store considering it's in a downtown district. Everything you want in a grocery store is here. As I walked through to pick up some groceries the prepared food section caught my eye. I was taken aback by a two chicken meal for $8.99. Having been tempted by the look and vast variety of the food I ordered a two piece chicken dinner with two sides. Choices of chicken, including jalapeño, baked, and fried. I chose fried. it was actually quite good. A decent amount of food, good, rich flavor, and nice and hot. For two sides, I chose the coleslaw and the mixed vegetable medley. The coleslaw was just OK. A bit on the dry side, and lacked a little bit of flavor, but not too bad. The vegetable salad (completely forgot the name of this) was very good. It was advertised as spicy, but it really wasn't. It had corn, carrots, red peppers, and some white funky thing. I tried to decipher what the white funky thing was, but couldn't. But it was surprisingly good. I would say for $8.99. This might be one of the best deals in town.

Birthday Cake

I ordered my little cousin's 13th birthday cake here and they did it exactly how I wanted to. I went up there to order and show them pictures and also sent them pictures as well so they could have it. The cake was about $30 which was VERY good considering what others were asking for this same exact cake. And it was GOOD!!!! It probably could've fed 10-15 people. Will definitely be ordering again!

"Beyonce" was extremely rude. Won't be coming here again.

Find it a shame that as much as I love coming to this store due to convenience and cleanliness, I am starting to feel as though I need to take my money and business elsewhere. There's numerous workers here that are extremely rude and angry at the world for whatever reason and yet choose to take it out on customers. Today I was at the cash register with an employee that's apparently named "Beyonce", she threw my groceries across the belt once she scanned them, didn't take any extra care of my eggs (4 of them were broken once I checked) and couldn't speak to let me know when to pay or how much it was. Once throwing my groceries, she scrunched up the receipt and handed to me, still without saying anything. I'm considering going to the local target instead due to instances like today. I've tried contacting their number but it goes straight to voicemail - super frustrating. Be warned that it seems as though they do not care about you, just your money.

Love this Tom Thumb store! You can tell good management hires good people with how courteous everyone is and ready to smile! I met Jeff today, manager of the best little florist shop in Dallas!!!(IMHO). I love fresh flowers, and Jeff and team have the freshest around.

This is an excellent new shiny grocery store that's convenient for all of us downtown/Deep Ellum dwellers. They have all the usual stuff a grocery store has. Pharmacy, deli, meats, wines, produce, breads, etc etc. There's also a Starbucks! Parking is free in the garage off Texas Street and there is a nice patio to enjoy some eats or drinks after you shop.

This store will put rotten/molded produce out. I've bought fresh produce from this location three times already where I get home & im ready to start cooking & when I open the bag or container the produce is in, to my surprise they're not usable. Its happen with potatoes being really green, molded corn, or molded cabbage. They must not FIFO their produce.

They provided useful tips for staying in town, what to see/where to go, and a few people even chimed in on where to avoid. I'm usually better at getting names so shame on me for that, but particularly helpful were the deli lady and the Starbucks girls, all of whom were working the morning of 12/26 at 10 am (hopefully that helps their bosses recognize them) The prices seemed good but admittedly I was in vacation mode (where money doesn't matter until you come home) and the service was top notch, but do yourself a favor and stay out of the men's room!! There were some shady dealings going down in the men's room

All three consistently have terrible attitudes. They either seem to hate their jobs, dislike dealing with customers, or both. I dread coming here knowing there's a good chance I'll have to interact with one of them, but unfortunately it's often unavoidable. In a time when good jobs can be difficult to find, you would think employees would put more effort into providing basic customer service. For the record, I am Black myself, so let's not turn this into a race issue. I only mentioned race because I don't know all of their names and wanted to identify the specific employees I'm referring to, not anyone else who may work there. These employees are consistently unpleasant and would probably be better suited for positions that involve less direct customer interaction, such as produce, stocking, or the meat department. Their attitudes make what should be a simple shopping trip far more frustrating than it needs to be.

The staff here is a little annoying at times, since they're doing a "donate to a local student scholarship drive", and the cashiers guilt-trip you (and they're fairly persistent) into donating. And when you do contribute, they broadcast it throughout the store. I get it's for a good cause, and I hate to be "that guy", but it is a little irritating after a while. On the plus side, the self-checkout attendants are usually fairly helpful and attentive, so that's good. The last time I wanted to check out, all of the registers were closed, so the self-checkout line was over a dozen people/carts long (thankfully two rows of self-checkout made the line dwindle fairly quickly). Another two lanes of self-checkout were opened at the other end of the store, but there were at least 3-4 attendants at the self-checkout lanes, so I'm curious as to why nobody was manning the actual registers. Finally, as I was leaving, two of the staff were having a casual non-work conversation, blocking the exit, so I asked them politely to move for my cart. They did so, but muttered under their breath for me to use the other exit. It was rather rude, since not only is that not appropriate customer service, but my car was parked at the other end of the parking lot, and the exit was right in front of me, which they were blocking. Overall, Krogers itself is great. You can probably find whatever you're looking for there, even if it might not be food, and for reasonable prices. But the staff and service don't always make your shopping experience a positive one.

I stopped in to grab a few bunches so I could build my partner a custom bouquet at home -- roses, winter peonies, and lilies that were all fresh, full, and priced better than anywhere else around here. The customer service at this location is phenomenal. The lady at the register saw the flowers and asked what I was making. When I told her I was building a bouquet myself for my partner, she lit up and said, "That's how you do it." Little moments like that just make the experience feel personal. Trader Joe's employees always bring good energy, and it shows. I took everything home, trimmed the stems, mixed the colors, and built the bouquet with my own hands. The roses brought the romance, the winter peonies added that soft winter elegance, and the lilies tied the whole thing together like a final touch only she would notice. While I was there I also grabbed steaks to cook her dinner later that night. Between the flowers and the meal, Trader Joe's basically gave me everything I needed to make the whole evening special without running all over town. When I handed her the bouquet and then served dinner, the look on her face made the effort worth it. Trader Joe's helped me turn a simple idea into a real moment -- thoughtful, genuine, and meaningful. Five stars for fresh florals, quality steaks, and customer service that actually makes you feel seen. This is why our local store stays our favorite.
