It's been a while since I wrote something nice about this restaurant. Not their fault! I was warmly greeted and told I could sit wherever I want. I selected about, but since I was not able to maintain my bikini figure these past few months (okay, past few years, perhaps), it was a little tight getting seated. This morning I ordered the 1/2 Olympic Omelette. It was filled with gyro meat, feta cheese, tomatoes and onions. Topped with a small portion of Greek taziki sauce, it hit the spot for me. I passed on the pita bread and substituted toast, instead. With drink, the total came to just over $8. The meal did the trick for me, I was satisfied. I look forward to my next visit. read more

It's been in the neighborhood since before I was born and the locals love it. The service and prices are great and everyone is welcomed.

I have not been as delighted by a restaurant in a long time as I am with the Manis Restaurant. We just finished breakfast and are still sitting in the booth. I had Huevos Rancheros. The salsa was fresh and spicy. Best American potatoes ever. With a side of four link sausage the total came to $7. My wife had a half omelette of cheese and sausage, delicious, $6. She had more than she could finish. Coffee, $1. We're visiting the area, otherwise I'd love to comeback and try their Mexican dishes. Highly recommend. read more

Great place for brunch. They have an extensive menu with a lot of great choices. Freshly made to order. Highly recommend.

I will start by saying the food is fine. The bacon is very nice, especially. The diner is clean, if not aesthetically interesting. The service, and I hope it was just a bad day for someone, was not in good form. A couple of other tables had waited an inordinately long time for simple breakfasts and they were understandably disappointed. Instead of apologizing, the waitress was dismissive and then positively rude to one woman, making everyone within earshot uncomfortable. And THEN she went toward the kitchen and loudly discussed the woman with other staff. And THEN after the woman paid her bill, told the waitress she was very rude, and left, the waitress discussed the woman with other customers. This waitress was not very interested in being warm and friendly, but seemed like she didn't care to be doing her job today, and she did have a number of lapses in standard parts of her job. She failed to ask how I wanted my own eggs, for example, and when I specified after realizing she didn't ask, she seemed either confused or hassled. Normally, I love to leave generous tips and make someone's day when I can see it's been a rough one, but not in this case. It costs nothing to be kind, and it is poor form indeed for a server to be so rude and passive aggressive. It is a small diner. Every customer could hear her acting this way. Shame. If the woman had been abusive, I would advocate the waitress coolly standing up for herself, but this was not that. read more

The NEW owners of this place have doing a HORRIBLE job of transitioning to whatever they want to do. Maybe they should just change the name to Red Pepper or whatever Mexican Cuisine they want to cater to. They consistently mess up orders, even when the server writes everything down on ticket, and then the cook is either on autopilot or does his own thing. If you don't want to do anything with the Manis menu, just get rid of it. Re-brand and go from there. Then work on consistency, getting orders correct and putting basic items like silverware and condiments with the orders. Until they can accomplish this, this place is a waste of time and money now. read more

I visited this classic dinner for lunch. The chicken noodle soup was tasty and seemed homemade. The small Greek salad was fresh and had plenty of toppings. The iced tea was good, too. My only slight complaint is that they "temporarily" don't accept credit cards. I can't say how long that has been the case. I would return for a lunch, as long as I have cash, which isn't always the case. read more

A long time staple in the Bluewater area, on par with Cavis's and like them, owned by a single family for nearly 50 years until sold roughly 15 years ago. Thing is, to look at either the menu or the interior decor, you'd never know that it had been sold - and for some that's cool, for others that tired. Staples here include any of the omelets, and the Cream of Tomato soup, which is the Wednesday special. Bottom line - the food is good, the service is swell, and the coffee is hot: what more can you ask of a small town diner? read more

Excellent restaurant as it should be, and it's located kitty corner from the Speedy Q gas station! So on my lengthy bicycle ride from Fort Gratiot, I stumbled upon this restaurant and thought from a first-timer "Is this another disappointment or another great restaurant?" Well this is not a disappointment! I really liked the food that they served in this establishment! I have never in my life been fortunate enough to try their Irish burger, piled with corned beef, Swiss, veggies, and sauerkraut. They even have great mozzarella sticks as an appetizer served on a bed of lettuce strips. Reasonably enough, I had a very attentive waitress. She filled my cup of pop whenever she sees that it's close to empty while I munch on the food. Very polite, very attentive, and overall great quality of service. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, and you can tell that young and old would be customers forever! Great menu of food, especially in the city of Port Huron! read more

Great restaurant, and there's usually always an open table and a free parking space. Manis Burger and Fries are my favorite along with the delicious chocolate malt. Kathy Ann and I eat here quite a few times. Everything we have had has been good. The pies and cakes are amazing Kathy Ann tells me. Friendly staff and owners. Have never been lucky enough to try one of their chicken pot pies. Offers a free Thanksgiving dinner and donations of food, cash, or labor leading up to it are appreciated. Let me tell you, this is my absolute favorite place around! Went here for the first time with my boyfriend a couple weeks ago and feel in love. All I've ever had is their breakfast and it's great every time literally the best omelet I've ever had. Service is wonderful very welcoming which is a wonderful feeling being in the industry myself. Always tasty when we eat here. Today we had a super server and she took great care of our table. I tried the Country Benedict for the first time and it was very good. The next time I order it though, I need to remember to ask for the sausage gravy on the side or "light". Settle in for a trip to the past as you walk into this diner. There are no frills, just good food. Mannis Restaurant feels like it was built in the 1950's (and probably hasn't been updated since then). It's not the classiest place, but the food is good and inexpensive. We've been there for breakfast on several occasions. Order up an omelette and you'll be glad you did. The place is so small that you can hear the cook and waitresses having their daily debates from any booth. 4 stars for good food, -1 star for cleanliness. read more

Great food with a classic atmosphere. Nice waitress and modest prices. Comparable to coney island or cavis grill.
