After interviewing a number of roofing companies we returned to Tom Lee Roofing who said we still had a few years left on our roof and gave us a very reasonable estimate to make repairs before the rainy season. They completed the work as scheduled including exterior trim replacements that we hadn't anticipated for the price quoted. They also identified a few holes where we have had mice crawl into our walls and sealed those off, and repaired our light well roofing as well. Very professional and friendly crew. We will use them again for our roof replacement when the time comes! read more

I've had Tom Lee Roofing do regular inspections and annual gutter cleanings and fixes. After having first checked out several roofing companies, they came across as the most professional and well organized. They responded promptly to my emails and made it easy to schedule visits. Their estimates seemed reasonable and didn't give me the sense that they were recommending lots of unnecessary work. Communications have been good about the overall state of my roof and when a replacement may be needed. As for the work itself, their crews arrived and finished on time. I'm pleased with my overall experience and plan to continuing working with them. read more

We are so grateful to Tom Lee Roofing for the excellent work they did on our home. From the very beginning, estimator, staff who handled the logistics to the team who worked the project, the entire team treated the job with care, professionalism, and pride. In today's competitive roofing industry, pricing always matters, and we found their pricing to be fair and within the market. More importantly, you truly get what you pay for -- exceptional workmanship, reliability, and a team that stands behind the quality of their work. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality truly gave us confidence and peace of mind throughout the entire process. It is rare to find a company so dedicated to doing the job right. We highly recommend Tom Lee Roofing to anyone looking for honest, quality workmanship and a company that truly cares about their customers. read more

I had Tom Lee Roofing evaluate an old roof for me. The company had done several jobs for us on an apartment house prior. Randy came out to the house and advised after his inspection that I had additional years to go before a new roof was needed. He pointed out we needed to clear the gutter, replace the fire arrestor, silicon coat the balcony and reseal the skylights. We contracted them to complete the work and everything was done in a day for a very competitive price! I really appreciated the honesty, fair pricing and workmanship. Thank you again! read more

Tom Lee Roofing just completed a total roof & center patio skylight replacement for us here in the middle Sunset district. They were outstanding. We're extremely happy we chose them! Due to a leak into the house during last winter's rains we already knew our almost-30-yr-old roof needed to be replaced; when Mike Chung jumped up onto the roof to assess it, he was able to confirm that as well as to point out a couple of other issues including ponding water. Things to know about team Tom Lee: 1) they're very proactive; they both identified & figured out how to address issues like the ponding water & the too-small drainage pipe leading down from center patio skylight; 2) they treat their employees well & it shows: their coordination & choreography was amazing, & they were happy (sometimes singing :); 3) email communication with the office was timely & clear; 4) for roof, they worked 815ish am-5ish pm every day for 3 days with set times for breaks & lunch; large skylight was 1 additional day several weeks later, 815-430; 5) they were respectful of neighbors (one neighbor had been anxious about his solar panels & driveway access prior to our roofing) & cleaned up thoroughly; 6) they were 2nd most expensive of the estimates we got but did excellent work & were well worth it. Highly recommended; we'd choose them again. ps - even though the roofing process is extremely loud, I recommend sticking around at home for the duration as the foreman Juan checked in with me periodically about issues or questions that came up during the course of each day read more

I called three different roofers to get quotes for the gutter replacement on our Victorian house. Tom Lee Roofing was referred to me by a friend. Michael who came out to the property to do the estimate was so personal and professional. We even took the time to get up on the roof to get a quick look. Estimate sent over immediately and approved by me and my wife. Ryan was in contact with me getting us scheduled and rescheduled a couple of times due to the rain that we have been having. Joaquin and another team member showed up on the scheduled day and completely sorted out our poorly maintained gutters, work was completed above ny expectations, looks get , couldn't be happier with this incredible team!. In the future when we get the house painted I need them back to seal my front gutter. Highly recommend price, workmanship and professional! Thank you! read more

The back part of our house got a new roof! Tom Lee Roofing. They fixed up a different part of our roof when we first bought the house in 2009. They found a way to repair the roof which was $10,000 cheaper than the quote we got during the home inspection process. They did a quality job. 16 years later, no leaks or any problems. Now we asked them back to repair this other part of the toof, which was very old (installed way before we bought the house). Once again, their work is top notch! They are careful about cleaning up and clearing away all the old materials, too. Very happy with Tom Lee Roofing, highly recommend if you ever need any roof work done. read more

Recently we needed to replace an aging roof in SF and looked into several highly rated companies in the bay. Tom Lee Roofing came with strong recommendations and a proposal that felt well-scoped for our needs, without cutting corners or adding unnecessary costs. The only "downside" was that they are quite popular, so we had to schedule several months out. Once the project began, their team was very professional, considerate, and clean. They completed the full re-roofing in about a week and it held up well during the next heavy rain. They even came back months later as one of our skylights had a bit of wind leakage, to add in more weather sealing. Overall a very satisfying experience. You should do your own research of course, as the 4-5 roofing estimates we got were massively different in price and scope, but I don't think you can go wrong with Tom Lee. Highly recommended, just get on their waitlist soon if you need their services. read more

Tom Lee Roofing - My new roof - Roofing Near Me - Daly City, California

We had two re-roofing jobs done in the Outer Richmond and one in North Beach this year. The entire team--from foreman to crew--was professional, respectful of our property, and clearly well-trained. Some of the workers have been with the company for over 20 years, which shows in the quality of their work. The crews were efficient (jobs done in just 2-3 days), cheerful, and always left the site spotless. Not a single complaint from neighbors--except one who now wants their roof done too! Thanks to Mike Chung, who came out for evaluations both times. Be aware, Tom Lee Roofing is in high demand, so scheduling can take months, even up to a year--but it's absolutely worth the wait. Highly recommend this company for their high standards and excellent workmanship. read more

I have been using Tom Lee Roofing Inc. for years to do maintenance on all my properties in San Francisco. Always professional, Randy has always been my estimator. For 8 days, I worked closely with them to replace two roofs on two of my properties in the Castro District in San Francisco. One a Stick Victorian from 1891 and the other a Carriage house from 1883. It was a big job indeed that required some scaffolding on one of the taller properties. There were days I had up to 11 workers at one time getting this job done. Every day was a pleasure working with the crew and also the office staff. They all came to work and did not disappoint! At the end of every work day all outside was left clean ready for the next work day. We found some additional work which was to be expected and executed beautifully. Permits were pulled and I made sure after the final inspections that permits were changed online to Complete on the DBI web-site. I highly recommend Tom Lee Roofing Inc. and plan to use them for future roof jobs on my other properties. read more

I am seriously remiss in being so late in submitting this well-deserved review of recognition and appreciation to Michael Chung and the entire Tom Lee Roofing Team for the outstanding, high quality professional service and work they provided me when replacing my flat roof on October 2025. They were, also, exceptional and exceeded my expectations in all facets of customer service and I echo Darlene H's review and experience!!! These are some of the highlights of my experiences: - Estimator Michael, who I did not know was co-owner of the company, was personable, professional, efficient and climbed on the roof to perform the inspection himself. He is highly experienced, knowledgeable, had first hands 6 yrs experience as a roofer - His estimate was detailed, thorough, comprehensive and turnaround in less than 24 hrs. He responded quickly to all questions within the same day. - The Estimate was a fair competitive and high value price. - While the company is commonly booked out 3-4 months, I was fortunate Kris was able to schedule me in for a 2 days timeslot. - Kris was my key contact while we approach closer to the job start date and throughout the duration of the job. He kept me informed and provided me a job start pkg with timeline, how to prepare and what to expect, along with letters for my neighbors to alert them of my roof work so they could prepare their houses for it too. It was a thoughtful touch and they appreciated it. -- In addition, Kris provided me the critical photos I needed for my insurance proof of work completion and instructions how to get the Inspectorfinal sign off on the Job Card. - On the date of job start, the foreman and crew were punctual, they were very organized, efficiently laid out materials and supplies, careful to protect and respectful my and neighbor's property, working methodically, kept work areas neat, and cleaned up at the end of day. - Michael personally came on site each day to monitor the progress of the job by climbing up on the roof and meeting with the foreman. He would update me on the progress and inform me of any findings and ask me what I would like done. Only after we reach agreement to any additional work and cost does he then add an addendum to the signed contract. - At job completion, Michael met with me and told me, he wants me to be happy with the work they did for me. If there's any problems to please tell him and not be unhappy. Michael is honest, stands behind the quality of Tom Lee Roofing's workmanship, takes pride in it and values and cares about its customers. I highly recommend Tom Lee Roofing! - To date, it's been 7 months and I have had no leaks or problems. My sincere apologies that I am so late with my review. Thank you Michael Chung and the Tom Lee Roofing Team for being there when I needed your professional services. Wishing you much continued success!!! read more

When my roof started leaking in 2010 I had Tom Lee Roofing replace it. Everything had been fine up until a short while ago when rainy season started here in San Francisco. I had a minor leak develop and immediately emailed Tom Lee Roofing about it. They quickly responed back and sent an inspector out to check it. He verifed where the leak was occuring and a time was set up for the repair. The crew came out on the day we settled on and were done with the repair within 2 hours. Very thorough inspection finding the exact spot of the leak and a great job sealing and re-shingling that area. I have recommended Tom Lee Roofing to all of my neighbors and friends who have asked if I know any good Roofers! read more

After reviewing several quotes, I thought Tom Lee was the most cost effective. They were willing to replace some downspouts, which other contractors wanted me to hire a plumber for. There were other items such as moon roofs and other ventilation items that they were willing to replace. I'm glad I went with Tom Lee. The whole process was very professional. The contractors were at the house at 8AM, worked hard and completed the job in 3 days, when others were estimating 4. They weren't the cheapest, but I definitely feel like I got the best value. read more

In the summer winds several shingles blew off because another roofing company messed up a repair and didn't attach them properly. Mike came round, provided an estimate for a repair and after two other estimates, I decided to go with Tom Lee Roofing. They fit me into their schedule earlier. No fuss, just came over and did the repair. Points I liked: 1. Mike - integrity: straightforward and clear estimation, easy to engage with. 2. Quick turnaround on quote and exchange on q&a on job details, guarantee and assurance of repair. 3. Lowest quote - reasonable, value for $ 4. Office (Kris) scheduling - refreshing 5. Communication - excellent and earlier fit into their work schedule. 6. Jose (foreman) + 1 on-time arrival, friendly! 7. Completed repair in an hour 8. $ - I was happy to pay. 9. Follow up - acknowledgement of payment. Thanks TLR - I'll definitely be in touch again when more work is called for. read more

I have contacted Tom Lee Roofing a few times to quote different jobs including my own home. I learned about them though my neighbor who has used their services for many years with great success. I was finally able to use them on my mother's roof to quote on reroofing. They instead suggested to simply just do some roof maintenance to extend the life of the existing roof. That's how honest they are. Instead of quoting an entire new roof as I requested. They saved us money instead. They recommended cleaning, replacing some flashing, sealing roof penetrations, coating with aluminized paint coating (to protect the existing asphalt layer) and also replacing a rusted downspout drain pipe. They even agreed to paint the new downspout pipe. Highly recommend Tom Lee Roofing for all your roofing needs. They are quick to reply and their quotes are very reasonable. That being said they are usually very busy and booked far in advance so call early to set up your appointment. read more

These guys were so, so good. My wife and I wanted to replace our flat roof.  Michael came by to offer a quote.  Friendly, no hard sell, patient with my questions. The amount quoted was several thousand dollars less than a competitor's quote.  Michael also flagged that it wasn't clear whether a bathroom fan was venting into the attic (bad) instead of venting outside (good).  He said that if the fan wasn't venting outside and we hired them to replace the roof, they'd add the vent at no additional charge. We hired them.  The communication process was great.  Kris and Amy helpfully answered a ton of my questions.  They were also able to move up our roofing date due to some last minute availability.  We had a new roof within about two months of signing the contract (March to May).   The day of the re-roofing went better than expected.  They arrived early.  The foreman, Uriel, was very helpful and communicative -- and had been briefed by Kris about my and my neighbor's concerns.  The team noticed that there were *two* bathroom fans not vented appropriately and addressed both, in addition to the vent for the kitchen range hood, all at no extra charge.  They were also very diligent about clean-up of both my wife's and my yard and my neighbors' yard.  The team even neatly folded a tarp I'd put down! A smaller, two-person team came back a few days later to do some finishing touches, and again, everything was perfect. The foreman, Joaquin, was unbelievably nice, and everything was left in great condition. Obviously, if the roof leaks when it rains, I will update this review to be ... much less positive :)  But for now, and unless this is updated by the time you read it, A+, would strongly, strongly recommend.  They made this process so easy.  And I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciate them flagging and addressing the ventilation before it became a problem, without trying to squeeze us for more money.  We've already started talking to them about periodic roof/gutter cleaning.  I can't imagine choosing a different roofer. read more

We just completed a project including re-roofing of two homes on one lot in the Richmond district. My roof looks beautiful and I am assuming that it will be intact and water tight for a very long time. However, I have the most praise for the service and professionalism of the company and its staff. The communication and information provided was clear and thorough--from the initial consultation to the follow up emails, calls and visits. The crew was pleasant, punctual, hardworking and meticulous in clean up everyday. The price was even less than I had expected. And I felt really good when neighbors saw the Tom Lee trucks and said "wow you got the best"! read more

After studying the reviews on Yelp and Bay Area Consumer's Checkbook, I decided to contact Tom Lee Roofing as they had consistently high reviews. I was looking for a company to inspect our roof to make sure it was all right after the high winds and rains we've received over the last few years. They did a very thorough inspection and specified precisely what they would do. This included removing a large buildup of mold, looking for any loose tiles and replacing them, sealing and painting all the piping and vents, water proofing our dutch gutter, cleaning the light well, checking the downspouts, cleaning the gutters and installing leaf guards on the front gutters. When they finished, their cleanup was immaculate. I was very impressed with their thoroughness and their updating me on what they found while they were doing the work. From my perspective, they performed well above my expectations and gave great value for the money. I will use Tom Lee Roofing for any future work I may have. read more

From scheduling a quote to getting the work done, it was a easy as you can get. You just need to wait to get on their schedule. Mike was very thorough with his estimate. Joaquin was one of the best roofers I've worked with. So nice and hardworking. They installed 2 air vents and a new skylight. Now we just need to wait for the rain to ensure no leaks, but not to worry because there's a 5 year warranty. read more

Michael and everyone else is "what you see is what you get". I get the feeling they put their effort toward doing the job correctly, as opposed to schmoozing to make it appear right and proper. They did my roof several years ago, but during one of the horrible storms this winter I thought part of it flew off. Tom Lee Roofing is a family business. We've been using them for years for roofing and have never been disappointed. Even during the pandemic, they were fully booked, but they were able to squeeze us in for a consultation. This job was kind of small where there was a leak in my garage. They decided to patch it up for a small price to see if it will leak during the next bad rainstorm. If this doesn't work, they will come back and redo the area. They will try to save you money if they can! Honest company and workers. Can't ask for more! read more

Tom Lee Roofing put on our new roof and drainpipes when we first moved into our home in 2009. We needed to have the older (galvanized steel) drainpipes replaced this year. The BEST EVER SERVICE!!! Howard comes out and inspects the job...what you want, what is needed, if and how it can be done, and when. Howard goes through every aspect of the job and breaks it down. What's refreshing is how honest they are about the job; probably because they are so busy they don't have to 'drum-up' work. We needed a new deck and our tile guy required 'flashing' to protect the new deck tile from absorbing water and the room below it. Tom Lee Roofing did all of the flashing and water-proofing...GREAT JOB. Here are the most important parts of hiring this company: They let you know right off how busy they are. They show up exactly when they say they will be there. The job took 1.5 days and that is what they said it would be. The men worked hard the entire time. Once finished, Howard came back out and looked over everything for any flaws, or mishaps. Totally thorough. Originally, I called them for a roof & to replace a cracked skylight; I was told my roof was fine and would be in good shape for at least another 5 - 10 years. Tom Lee replaced the skylight and cleaned up the fascia. They are not only reliable and dependable, Tom Lee Roofing are nothing less than professional. read more

Definitely worth the wait if you can! There's a wait, and it's for a reason. These folks are genuine San Franciscans doing business here and continuing the legacy of what began a generation before them. They have their hearts in the right place and they are fairly priced. You will know that you have peace of mind if you choose Tom Lee Roofing. What's most telling is that even when things did not go 100% right (cable line from internet disconnected and check was not cashed as quickly as I would have liked due to what they said was a glitch), they work in an expedited and responsive fashion to fix things. The only recommendation is to contact the owner upon completion of the job to check in and to review items related to the fact that a permit person will be arriving shortly after the job is complete. That wasn't explained to me, so a little bit more practice on closure and follow-up would be great. Roof looks great and all options were outlined to me during the job when we realized that there was more involved than what was previously quoted. They are fair and responsive. And completely professional. There are lots of roofers out there, but if you want to be worry free, choose these folks. read more

Tom Lee Roofing replaced my flat roof and skylight, as well as installed a new skylight, for my house in San Francisco. They were punctual and communicated very effectively through the whole process. The quote was well detailed, they handled change orders effectively, and even communicated with a contractor working at my home to coordinate their schedules. Since the work was completed they have come back twice to repair the siding below the new flashing that came off during our recent heavy winds. Again, they were punctual & professional, and agreed to do the repairs under warrantee. It could have gone either way and it was generous of them to do the repairs without billing. Ultimately, my only complaint is they they just do roofing. If there were a Tom Lee Plumbing, Tom Lee Construction, Tom Lee Mechanic, etc. they would all be my first choice! read more

Awful to do business with, or at least to get a straight answer out of. The provided a quote to replace a skylight, but after repeated attempts at asking both via email and phone, refused to provide details of what was included in the quote, like if hauling off my old skylight was included, as their competitors did, so I could compare apples to apples. Similarly they suggested $1300 of roof maintenance, but refused to say what maintenance was included in that $1300. They may or may not do good work, but they certainly do not seem on the up and up when they don't wish to provide standard details on what is or in not included in their "quotes". They stated they were unable to provide such details, but seeing as how every other quote I received did provide those details, why are they not able to? The fact is they are able to, they just don't wish to be transparent or act in good faith. read more

Tom Lee Roofing was recommended by a friend who is a building contractor. I'm glad I called them. Mike, our estimator, came to the house and I explained that I had a couple of leaks. We looked at the roof and he suggested performing repairs in certain areas from where the leaks most likely originating. It was a few weeks before it was my turn on their schedule, so don't delay if you need roofing repairs. The company is in demand. The crew is professional and obviously knows what they're doing. They knew the task at hand and did the job in one day without me having to get involved. Saying they were easy to work with is an understatement. They also replaced my gutters and installed a new skylight. All of which look and work beautifully. I'm writing this six weeks after the work was done. I waited until we received heavy rain in San Francisco. The roof no longer leaks (yea!), nor does the skylight, and the gutters work well. read more
