The car I purchased from Tom Hesser broke down. I called Tom Hesser to get the car repaired, the earliest appointment i could get was 11 days out, but told me to get the car towed to their lot and they may look at it before then. I got my car towed to their lot, where it sat for 10 days. I would call the service department daily, leave a voice mail, and not get a call back. The appointment was scheduled for 10:00am today. After calling several times and unable to get ahold of anyone in the service department, I drove to the dealership. When I got there, I my car in the same spot I left it 10 days before, hood popped, sitting in the rain. I spoke to a nice woman in the service department who explained that the sales department told them to not work on the car, because they may get us to trade it in for a new car. That is not what I requested or asked for. I did speak with the sales department to get an estimate for a trade in, or to sell the car outright, but I also wanted to know what's wrong with the car and the cost to repair it, which was never communicated to me. Finally, I spoke to the sales manager, Mike, who wasn't wearing a face mask despite the signs on the door. Mike told me he had nothing to do with service and couldn't help me. Mike did give me a price of $3,000 for the car. That was the lowest offer I got on the car by far. If you want a Nissan, drive to Ken Pollock Nissan in Wilkes-Barre. They treat you with respect, have better prices, and wear masks. But honestly maybe just don't buy a Nissan. 0 out of 10 would do business with Tom Hesser Nissan. read more

I bought a brand vehicle from them...love my car BUT will never buy another Nissan because their service department is HORRIBLE!!! First of all I should never have to leave a message to talk to someone in the "service" department. Second of all when you leave multiple messages for the so called "service" department and no one calls you back....well that is just plain pathetic. Love my car but bye bye Nissan unless we get another local dealership I can deal with NO MORE Tom Hesser Nissan for me. Probably the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. Spent 3.5 hrs on a Saturday looking for Altima at this dealership in Scranton. Took a test drive, they didn't have my exact model. They told me they were going to check get back to me early the next week....never called, I followed up twice and the sales woman never got back to me, called and spoke with manager and he told me my sales person was off that day and she would call me. She never did so I called yet again and yet again she never called. Ok, I'm trying to buy a dam car and this is how I am treated. I was a customer of theres and bought my current car from them. Guess what...I am buying a new car on Saturday and it's not a Nissan. Sales is great, very helpful and accommodating and I would give the sales a 5 star... but the service Department is AWFUL... just horrible and I dread if my car needs to go back. Took a month to get a simple problem fixed, jerked around constantly and talked down to be the service fellow multiple times. I knew what my problem was and told him so, only to have him constantly dish out poor excuses. Was blamed forcefully for the issue again and again, just so they could avoid warranty work. The "quick fix" didnt work, so they had to make the bigger repair. They had to order parts, no biggie until it came it a retainer or something which was "backordered" with no time of arrival until I ended up calling corporate and magically the part showed up next day? At least that's what they lied and told the corporate guy. Finally though the repair was done, and hopefully correctly. Again, GREAT sales department. Everyone in service should be fired... I literally won't buy from Tom Hesser just to avoid every having to deal with the current service department. Oh and dont bother contacting the service manager... he wont get back to you. read more

Went there for an inspection and showed them a crack in the windshield. Instead of telling me that it would not pass inspection they proceeded to do the inspection and charge me for it. They could have gave me the courtesy of making the choose to get it repaired and come back rather than charge me for nothing. I feel it was pretty deceptive and never will return. Stay away far away. I wasted two hours of my time for nothing. read more

The financial manager, Albert, is very condescending. I went to him for help with a payment issue for my new vehicle, and he spoke over me and refused to help. He would only tell me that he is right and the bank is lying (when they said the dealership turned in the paperwork the day my first payment was due). He wouldn't listen to what I was saying, he just told me that I'm wrong and the bank is lying. He was very obnoxious and rude. They just lost my service. Never again will I go there read more

Just went to Tom Hesser Nissan. HORRIBLE!!! Had to wander the lot and showroom for 15 minutes just to find anyone to help me ... I didn't mind not being "mobbed", but I would like some help at some point or another. Finally was "helped" by Robert Hiller. By helped, I mean he was not helpful at all. Even worse than the average car salesman. I quoted him a price from Ken Pollack Nissan directly off of their website. He flat out told me I was wrong, refused to look at a printout of the webpage and refused to take 90 seconds to look it up himself. He also claimed there were absolutely no incentives/deals on the car I was looking at, even though there is an offer DIRECTLY FROM NISSAN for $1000 cash back or 0% Financing. The only thing he did right was to not waste my time pretending to give a crap about me. A short visit ... I spent more time waiting than I did with Robert Hiller, but trust me ... I will never, ever go back there for any reason. Once I do buy my car (from another dealer) I will be sure to contact the President and Sales Manager from Tom Hesser to let them know they lost an easy sale. UPDATE .... After this review posted, of course the dealer tried to "earn my business" and "make it up to me" ... but offered nothing in reality. More or less "Hey! Come back! We'll try really hard not to screw you over! At least not so you'll notice ..." Ended up buying the car I was shopping for from Ken Pollock Nissan in Wilkes Barre. Awesome experience. read more

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Frontier 2 years ago from Tom Hesser Nissan. I love the vehicle I have no issues with it. I will never bring my vehicle to Tom Hesser Nissan for service again. My vehicle failed inspection for rust on the edges of the rotors. I spoke to the technician about the thickness of the rotors or break pads and was told they were fine. There is no rusting or pitting on the rotors where the pads ride, just on the edges. I asked for documentation on how he determined the rotors are bad. He printed out a safety inspection bulletin BI11-1 here is the quote directly from the bulletin. " RUSTED/PITTED BRAKE ROTORS The presence of rust or pitting on brake rotors, by itself, does not constitute a failure for the purpose of inspection. Inspectors should determine if rust is a temporary condition (surface rust) which sometimes results from the vehicle being parked for a period of time. In order to reject a vehicle for rusted/pitted rotors, the inspector must determine that the rust/pitting is causing diminished braking performance that prevents the vehicle from stopping within prescribed distances. If the rotors are above the minimum thickness and there is no rejectable scoring, the inspector may wish to note the rust/pitting on the customer's work order." Rotors and break pads are still on the vehicle and I had it inspected at a reputable shop and also had it double checked by another inspection station. So Tom Hesser Nissan wanted to charge me $174.95 for work not needed, and did charge me for a failed inspection fee. If anyone is interested in showing me exactly what the issue is I would love to see it. I am waiting for my survey from Nissan so I can discuss this with them. Steve Mancuso read more

Never buying or leasing a car from these jokers again. I have been trying to set up an appt. to have the car inspected to return the lease. I have called multiple times and am told someone will get back to me over and over again, apparently if you are not releasing another vehicle they give you the run around. Also, beware of leasing with them. Read the small print. I am returning a car in excellent condition and was told they will still be charging me a fee of $400. Con artist, they should tell you this up front!! read more

WORST CAR BUYING/LEASING EXPERIENCE EVER! My husband and I took our daughter there with the intentions of having her lease a 2018 Nissan Rogue. At first the sales man had us wandering the parking lot aimlessly in the cold rain searching for I guess a particular model ... we still don't know. Then he told us to sit inside and stay warm and he would bring a car around. We drove 2 models of the Rogue then sat down to discuss numbers. (This was all about a TWO-HOUR SPAN OF WAITING) He had a mechanic drive her current car, a 2004 Honda CRV, which we intended to trade in toward to new lease. Then he Finally presented us with a price that seemed a little high.. then after much mumbling about "comparing apples to apples" and back and forth with yet another salesman behind a wall he came back with a price $20. lower for her monthly lease. Then we mentioned that another dealer in the area offered her $500. more for her trade in, he immediately scoffed and said, "Well then have Him buy her car!" ...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Then for the third time he actually came back and said, "Uh, you're gonna throw rocks at me cause (the other car salesman's name) ...and you should blame him not me that the price went up"!!!!! So in the end of our extremely painful experience lasting over 2 hours of back and forth dog and pony show, the price actually went UP $50.!!!! UNBELIEVABLE! I was so shocked upset and mostly ANGRY that he had the nerve to insult us and waste our precious time. These people sell cars every day that's what they do! We just want a fair price on one model or the other. How do you suddenly not know how much the car costs!!! There's no reason to waste 2 hours of game playing back and forth with another salesman and wasting our time!!! Very very frustrating and insulting!!! This salesman and his co- worker should be embarrassed and ashamed and are a disgrace to all the reputable car salesmen and women out there that actually have INTEGRITY! read more
