I have the anesthesia paperwork and it's about $2400 because downtime and whatever excuse to charge more money., so no it will never be 1600. A composite filling takes time so therefore nitrous oxide is a no go since she can wake up and freak out. They could not confirm any more than the two cavities since they were not able to get the pictures, however, they didn't mention some invisible cavity being a problem. I am very neurotic taking care of my daughter's teeth and have close-up pictures. It's pretty impressive how clean they are. Now the father gives me the quote from the Dental company and the Whole dental visit will end up costing about 4500 since it's 2000 for the dental work/not general anesthesia. so my daughter would've undergone anesthesia and walked out with five stainless steel crowns in her mouth. Oh, I was very clear. I absolutely don't give consent to crowns. They also wanted to add ceiling on top of the tooth that they were going to crown. I can't see how that's necessary but, OK let's make the quote higher and add in. stainless steel crowns are very fast for procedure so there was absolutely no reason to suggest that over composite filling. Something is truly corrupt and more people need to speak up about this child abuse. Thank God, my gut told me to look further into it. One woman was not as lucky and had the same exact quote, expected child's teeth to be filled to daughter being gone for three hours and walking out with a metal mouth. These people need to be stopped. I am so sorry for her. I need to warn everyone.

Aquidneck Dental still gets a 5 star rating from me BUT Dr Ruel gets a 0 rating!…read more Disappointing Denture Relining Experience with Dr. Ruel I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with Dr. Ruel at Aquidneck Dental in Portsmouth for a hard relining of my dentures, which cost $1,600. My upper denture was initially comfortable, with only a minor thin spot prompting the relining, but my lower denture was problematic, requiring denture adhesive before meals and still becoming loose during eating. Dr. Ruel, nearing retirement and working only one day a week, scheduled my impressions for the following week, promising a next-day turnaround. However, when I called to confirm post-relining care for potential sore spots, the office assured me Dr. Ruel would be available. Upon dropping off my dentures, he then informed me they would take a week, contradicting his earlier promise. After I reminded him of his initial claim, he made a brief call to the lab and stated they could deliver the next day. I suspect he was reluctant to come in on his day off, leaving me without dentures for longer than expected. When I received my dentures, the upper plate was uncomfortably tight, and the lower plate felt unchanged, as if no work had been done. After pointing this out, Dr. Ruel reduced the charge to $800 and offered an immediate soft relining. Unfortunately, the soft relining was poorly executed: the lower plate had untrimmed excess material and there are sharp edges on the outer teeth, while the upper plate's roof lining felt like sandpaper, causing significant soreness in the roof of my mouth. I had to return multiple times, waiting a week between appointments, to address persistent sore spots and problems. The teeth still feel unpolished and rough. Now, my upper denture requires adhesive to stay in place--unlike before--and moves when chewing tougher foods like steak. The lower denture is so loose that I need to re-apply adhesive multiple times during a single meal. Overall, my dentures are in worse condition than before, and I'm don't think they can be fixed. I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Ruel, who has since relocated to Tiverton. This review pertains solely to Dr. Ruel's service, not the other excellent dentists at Aquidneck Dental in Portsmouth.

So it was time for me to go back because I knew I needed a dental cleaning. I asked a coworker who she went to and she recommended Dr. Matrullo. I booked an appointment and I was pleasantly surprised that they are literally 1 mile from my home. Walking into the office I found it very visually beautiful. Upon check-in I did the necessary paperwork and after that I was greeted by a wonderful hygienist named Tara. She took X-rays and then started to gently scrape my teeth. She always asked if I felt any pai, which I didn't. Once the cleaning was done, the younger son, Dr. Matrullo came in to asses my fillings to make sure they were all intact. He asked if I had any concerns and I said yes, I don't like the overcrowding of my teeth since I had braces years ago. He recommended an orthodontist who specializes in Invisalign. Overall this is by far the most wonderful experience I've ever endured regarding dentistry. The customer service is Top Notch, the dentist was very knowledgeable and kind. This is my new dentist going forward. Ask for Tara to clean your teeth, she's Amaaazing!
